Pick, I removed the IMG tags from your post due to the pic size exceeding 500x500 pixels.

    Thanks :)

I have to agree that is nice looking desk. Not the best of pics but I can feel it and taste it like that one there is mine. I have seen other pics of the black R3 but your pics are really striking me for some reason. I'm know I'm so close, yet feel so far away. LOL

That's a nice looking theme Torai!
Blue is my color of choice so I'm probably gonna do something with blue and white. My wardrobe/Jeep/Harley prove that Blue is my color of choice. LOL

No more pics to keep me occupied in the last 24 hrs before delivery? LOL Guess I will go back and start looking at them all again.

Iono, what pix do you want? I can't video tape any games cuz that'll take too long to upload, and I'm lazy right now. Anything else you want though in terms of photos?

Actually, I'll share this screenshot for you.

I have WLAN on, the IGP on, and screen brightness is at 5/8 brightness, power saver plan. Waddya think? Also, what does "battery wear" mean, and should I be worried that it's at 7.8% already?

Another video, and surprise for y'all to enjoy: YouTube - m17x R3 - Battlefield Bad Company 2 - IGP

Will try to do another video in a bit, but this time on the correct gpu :p :p :p :D :)

That's better performance (on IGP) than I would get from my current laptop at full power...pretty insane...

Yup, same applies to my dinodesktop. I couldn't even imagine getting even choppy frames on any modern game lolz. The R3's power is amazing.

Anyhow, sorry, can't do a video on the gpu, cuz my camera battery just died lol. Will try tomorrow.

Also, I hope you folks don't mind my crappy videos (as opposed to using fraps or something).

New video uploading right now. Check it in about 10 minutes.

EDIT: I just cross-referenced the fps in my video with the info on the notebookcheck page for the 6970, and it's just about right. So happy :)

EDIT2: Video uploaded. It should give ppl an idea of the power of the 2nd best single-card gpu according to notebookcheck. The first video of BFBC2 should give an idea of how strong the IGP is, also. Thx!

My 3 yr old hp has 36% wear on it. I use that same battery bar. (found it somewhere on the net a few days ago while trying to keep myself busy. lol) I believe it's the best one out there. That's one of the first things that I'm going to download after I get my beast. I would suggest doing a few full charge and discharge cycles of the battery and see if that 7.8% gets any better.

I can't believe the amount of time they are getting out of the batteries these days. That's awesome.

It's the Intel HD 3000. It's prolly more powerful than my dinodesktop's Radeon 9600PRO 256mb from the prehistoric age... :D

What does battery wear mean anyway? Why's it so high if I just got this thing????

Do you run the battery down to almost nothing before you charge it back in, and then charge it to a 100% before you unplug it? If your not doing that at least most of the time, thats where you start to wear it down. Just cycle it and run it all the way dead and then plug in until it's 100% again. (doesn't matter if you are using it or not) Just cycle it all the way down and back up again a few times and it should expand the batteries memory and life. I have 3.1% battery wear right now, right out of the box.

Edit: Battery Wear means, the higher wear you have, the less time you have to run it on a full charge.

The pics are not done loading yet!!!
    they at 90% now.

Sorry for the old table in the pic. At my GF's house and the table belonged to her grandpa. She doesn't want to get rid of it.

    95%

100% - Take a gander ladies and gentlemen.

Then let me know what you think please!

Glad you liked them. Took me about 45 min to take all the pictures while unboxing. It was a good 45 min though, new toys and trinkets around every corner and in every pic. LOL

EDIT: Just added a screen shot if you haven't seen that yet.

Thanks guys. Like I said it took me about 45 min to do the unboxing. Trying to take the photos with the props so you guys had a reference for everything. I think it's number 16 that is playing with your eyes. The brick old computer and pen are all lined up in a perfect line and the pen looks like it's closer to the camera.

I didn't do that cycling thing, but I guess I'll do it now, since this thing gets like 4hours of battery anyways :). So I still have 7.8%. Is there a way of winding this down to a lower number like yours? Or am I stuck at 7.8?

Also, just pmed you. Great pix. Even teh AW box is nice, which made me really happy about this purchase.

Thanks. How was the HP for you? Mine lasted quite a while. I took great care of it. Crapped out and it can only be run on extended battery now. Will shut down with any other setting or if you push it too hard.

Always remember!!! ANYTHING with batteries, after you get it you want to cycle them from completely dead to fully charged a few times. After that it doesn't matter quite as much, but you still want to cycle them from time to time. The batteries have memories and if you don't push the upper and lower limits (fully charged and fully discharged) both ends of the spectrum start shrinking on you. One of my Ex's and I both got the same phone with same size battery on the same day. She put hers on the charger "every" night and took it off in the morning, before work. I only plugged mine in when the battery bar was blinking and it was about to shut off. After a month or two, her phone would only last a little over a day on a charge because she ruined the battery. Mine would last 4-5 days, just like it was new! (Also must say almost the exact same usage, nothing to do with her using the phone more than me)

LOL I can understand where your coming from. I guess the best explanation is, your starting in the middle of the thread and are confused? I think if you start from the beginning and see pics/follow conversation then see more pics and follow conversation again it might make more sense. ??? I have noticed myself that this thread gets off topic, but if you are following along good it's usually because of a picture and then a question or two that makes it end up off topic a bit. But it's all about the R3 and it's a good read. It's not that long. I would suggest starting at the beginning and reading to the end while your trying to kill time waiting on your system. :)

LMAO!!! I bought mine in FEB 08 before I left for Afghanistan, so mine is over 3 years old as well.

And yeah, it doesn't take to much to push it to hard now. It struggles with an internet radio station without any graphics. LOL Pretty much anything really. Totally worthless POS.

    HP= Hopelessly Pathetic

Dang straight. Mine was great when I got it. But it has severely crapped. I wish I was covered in that settlement so that I cold just give the brand new one to my GF. She does next to nothing on the computer and she would have been happy with the replacement that they were offering even though it was nothing near what my laptop is/was. I contacted AAFES and asked them look up my order info and find my receipt for that order, so that I had the date. (didn't quite remember) Ordered 2/14/08 - $1049.99. It was still in the same period that the nVidia infected computers were covered (mine has nVidia) and for some reason it's not covered. I probably should take them to small claims to see what I can get out of them and buy the GF a nice but cheap computer and pocket the rest. Even though most people settle out of court with them for around 70% of original cost, the GF needs next to nothing for e-mail and light web browsing.

They were great then. I know it's a little older. (3 yrs) I'm not asking a lot from it. Mostly web browsing/e-mail/maybe a little internet radio/and occasionally a youtube video. For the specs of that computer, it should not be crashing 5 min after startup for no reason. Or crashing on balanced power for trying to view a youtube vid. Basically can't to anything with it. I know it's outdated, but I have done all of that on it before many times. Nothing has changed and I'm not asking any more of it than I ever have. That comp should have lasted at least 5 yrs with no probs with the use that it was under. I got an extra good one so that it would last and it did not. I was completely satisfied until it failed. (just crashed and completely shut down) Now it HAS to be run on extended battery (or it will crash-even in safe mode) and be very gentle with it or it will crash anyhow. Got a full top to bottom 3 yr warranty on this just because of that one. I really hope this one lasts 5 years or more, but if it fails within 3 years I will def make sure that I get a new one and then I will be much happier than with HP, that won't take care of their customers.

Khovatai, not sure if you have checked out http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...ring-tomorrow-almost-time-make-claim-225.html , but you will really learn a lot. Like how nVidia paid HP for the bad chips and the lawsuit should have been on HP instead of nVidia for this whole mess. nVidia already paid up and now they have to again. So HP makes out by taking nVidia's money and or money and doesn't give a crap about the customers. I tell you what!!! NONE of my friends or family will ever ever ever buy another HP product in their lives. If enough people spread the truth about HP and people double check their facts, they will see the truth and they won't ever want to buy another HP product anyhow!!!

    Thank you

Thank you....I love the G13. It's a match made in heaven between Alienware's FX lighting and the G13's customizable lighting.
Because my laptops ALWAYS stay in "brand new" condition it is essential for me to use the G13 & Razer Lycosa instead of the M17x's keyboard when possible.

I always read reviews that say the G13 is pricy for 79.99.....lol......are they kidding? For what you get it is a steal!!

    Thanks...

Yo!! You seriously have some mad ESP skillz..... I worry all the time when I leave the house.

We do have a Allstate Insurance Policy that covers theft upto 200,000.00USD. But you know how that goes..............

I did just buy the Orion Retro 7 with the Shorts.....maybe they'll take those instead.....maybe....

I remember when my house got burglarized back in 2003. They stole my nike shorts as well... ghettoazzes. I hate ppl.

Anyway, I got no new videos to post. Any requests though? (No more Crysis requests please, I'm trying my best to get the game from my bud, but our schedules conflict so I can't go to his pad).

    That's lame!!

Congrats on your M17x R3. I've read a grip of your post about Post-Arrival, First Thoughts, BSOD etc...

I think I watched a video or two from you as well.

Yeah I made my desktop Blue, but I'm getting kind of sick of the Blue on my setup and need to re-do it I actually have the same keyboard, going to go with purple or green next. When I post images again it's going to be Big :p Going to be more about actual HardWare as compared to Flare of shiney things of shoes and socks or pants ;) , Go Big or Go Home :D

Brother makes the best printers except for the Lexmark Genesis... I would have bought one but I just bought a Sony NEX-3 camera for 599.99USD....after accessories 800.00+
I would love to add one of these printers to my setup :(

I just bought a new camera so I'm pic takin crazy... It even has the ability to take 3D panoramic photos. I view them on my 3D TV it's awesome. Maybe I'll take a few shots of my R2 for all those 3D R3 owners.

I love the R2/R1's green, even though blue is my favorite color.

I'm going to be visiting Florida(Place of Birth/Fam) soon. Maybe I'll hit up Alienware in Miami and if possible take some pics at their office with my R2....that'd be going big ;)
