Give him as much time as he needs...

LVNeptune might have to mod his heatsink, and that will definitely take time. It's all worth it to find out if the 485m is going to work.

Btw guys, not to get hopeful or anything, but I take back my words a few pages ago. Inap and some guy got a 6970m working in an m15x.

Can't help but speculate that this might be a similarity to the m17x r3 with the 485m.

Works, heavy modification needed unrelated to the heatsink, the black stuff is just a sticker that comes off easy. Had to switch retention clip from the 460M to the 485M, be VERY CAREFUL. PICS COMING SOON!

Need to get drivers properly installed. But yes, I am in Windows with it now!

FX2800M_64.zip will be done in 8 minutes. I'll mirror it on sendspace if this works so other people have quicker access to the driver.

Honestly it should just be up to the drivers now...I am in the system, so it should be smooth sailing after getting drivers up...Downloading 267.24 beta notebook drivers apparently someone already had a modded inf....FX2800M_64 still has 5 minutes =/

NVIDIA's website takes about a minute.

EDIT: That modded INF didn't work for me...*SIGH* hope this driver from CLEVO does work >_<

Stock is a no-go, my hardware ID's FWIW

    PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0E31&SUBSYS_04901028

Modified the INF from the 267.24 myself...Shoot, may as well just download the latest NVIDIA modify it and run the installer at this point haha.

EDIT: The CLEVO one is finally almost done and I accidentally just downloaded the 32Bit NVIDIA stock, now downloading the 64bit NVIDIA stock and it's still done before the CLEVO one WOW so slow =/

    CLEVO didn't install...Any other ideas.

OK, apparently this ID wasn't in the INF, added it to the proper areas and running installer, now.

    Software Upgrade

Try the driver listed on that page, it's for a sager card which I'm guessing you ordered from RJ Tech so it's a Sager/Clevo card so it should have the HWID's already in the driver for you. If that doesn't work make sure they are already in there and if they are it may be a problem.

Edit: Another idea is to head over to laptopvideo2go as they keep their most recent modded driver .inf files updated with just about every card known to man. Try both desktop and mobile drivers, I know I couldn't get my 460m to work right with anything but a modded desktop driver.

That means it's not actually supported in the bios, the only chances of fixing that is to have bios support added. You can try to use the manual fan controls using HWInfo32 but the guys that tried that with the 6970 in the R2 didn't have luck :(

I just noticed the GPU voltage is at 0.850v and isn't switching voltages when I unplug/replug the power. Does this mean insufficient power?

EDIT: NVM, after launching game the voltage went up to 1.000v and I unplugged and it dropped back down. Apparently this uses less voltage than the 460M did, 460M IIRC was 1.025 or so.

My 460m idled in the low 50's on stock paste as well it's the max loaded temps you need to watch as that will tell you if the card is A)too much for the system AND/OR B)if the fan is working right.
