Are you 100% certain about that.To my knowledge nobody has even tried fitting a 5870 in a R1.The current bios accepts the 4870's so maybe there is a chance for it to work. Its like the saga with the RGB being fitted to the R1 99% on this forum said no way but were proved wrong by Aikimox .Am i missing some information about why the 5870's wont play on the R-1 ?.

Hahaha, yes qezep, you are doing something wrong, COP is Colombian pesos, 1 USD is equal to 1933 Pesos, and 3000 Pesos are equal to 1 EUR aprox, mean: 3000 USD Before Taxes or 1933 EUR before taxes . . . . thats with minimum i5 processor, 320 GB SATA, RGB LED, and 5870, taxes are like Mr PacMan !

PS: No, i didnt try to order this by phone yet, i will when i have all the money, and by the way, im glad to have not the money yet cause this can go to lower price and better at the middle of this year, just right to buy it :)

Guys did anyone in US ever got his order cancelled and do they have the right to cancel an order even without informing anyone? My Dell customer care representative was rather surprised when i told him they cancelled my order. i guess i ll have news tomorrow.

thus do they have the right to cancel even if they dont have the parts? i mean a reasonable company would keep the order alive and just forward to production when the parts are available.

and finally who the hell changes the order status to cancelled? the factory or somebody else?

    thats insane!

Welcome to the norm with Alienware, at least from my experience. I had 3 order cancellations due to lack of available parts before mine finally went through. Is it the right way of doing things? No, but there's no law against it so they can do whatever they want unfortunately.

Yeah I know and then the Canadian was like all over us telling us how everyone was ordering the CF5870 depending on the rep... :)

It was evident that no rep had access to the option 5870CF. At least not yet.

5870CF as an option on the web site?, reps taking orders for the cards?. These cards can't be that far off, either that or Dell's playing us.

Well I ordered M11x recently, shipped 10 days ago, got it...today. Delivery used to be in 2 days. Dells performance has decreased dramaticaly within last 12 month. If you can call it a ''performance''.

It shouldn't void the warranty. I read on this forum that the only thing that voids the warranty is painting the computer.

join the club. where did you order from?

not on the site but they can order this configuration on their personal configuration site. and if they cant build it right now this doesnt mean they should cancel orders. we have so much patience and they cant keep orders alive for one week or so? damn! what kind of policy is this? especially when it comes to replacement its against the rules isnt it?

You should be able to change the HD, there is no reason that it would void the warranty.

i received an email talking about combination of parts that caused cancelling the order. no word on what component. they also told me to order again or request a refund. ok order again but what configuration as i dont know what caused the cancellation? tomorrow i will know more guys. i will tell you if i have somthing new.

by the way Dell: i didnt order something that doesnt exist. i remember i was saying the same thing with my first order. then i needed 50 days after two cancellations.

i would say it depends on where you live and availability of services and how willing they are. i also think that they are not obligated to offer you upgraded parts (meaning that they obligate you to order new machines). at least this is my EU experience. US is a totally other case.
