anything i should be warned about for 3d vantage, or just wait until it's done?
-
nope wait until it's done.
-
k thanks, sorry this is my first time
-
You 5870 people have nothing to worry about. Sadly, NVidia admits that the 480M isn't even as powerful as the M5870..
Nvidia Unleashes New Ferm Chip, GeForce GTX 480M Mobile Solution - X-bit labs
I'm definitely done with NVidia. -
OMG, I am done with Nvidia too.
-
should I done with NV as well?
-
For the price tag they have put on that damn thing, it SHOULD outperform 2 5870s. That is just pathetic.

having trouble uploading uploading onto tinypic so i'm doing it on imageshack

this suspense is retarted

nice finnaly someone got it (even thoug i wanted it first, kinda childish but i know i'm not the only one thinking like that
)
if you have the posibility can you test any fps games on an 2560*1600 external display ? and, if you have the posibilty can you test with a monitor in each monitor plug( vga/hdmi/displayport) at the same time (see if the m17x supports eyefinity @ 4 screens) -
Don't forget, 100W each card, too. That's 200W if they want to attempt to SLI it, before taking anything else into account in the system. You're looking at the need for at least a 450W+ power supply to not run into the dangers the R1 had with lack of wattage. That's going to be one awful thing to lug around. All I can do is laugh at NVidia now.

not showin up for me steve. how bout just type out the numbers
-
Seems a bit on the low side. The GPU score should be hitting over 13k stock. You're over 1000 point shy of that. The score you got is very close to what my system with dual 4870s gets. -
11973 GPU score.
-
P11579
CPU:10538
GPU:11973 -
is it cause i have 720s?
-
pretty sad out of the box performance....
-
i havent overclocked it or done anything to my laptop yet if that helps lol
-
well i have the same config as you ordered steve. I'm not as excited as i once was...
-
I'll rerun the test again in a sec.
-
Check the power mode? Drivers? Any way to monitor clocks while running vantage?
-
No, it's because you're using stock drivers that are probably old. I don't advise you try to change over to new ones because people that don't have much experience with that sort of thing end up with more trouble than they bargained for. I'll load newer 10.6's when my machine gets here tomorrow and do a run. Like others said, make sure your system is set to high performance mode (check the power icon in the tray). -
What display drivers do you have?
-
The CPU should not affect the GPU score. This is almost the same as stock 4870 CF stock.
I hope Dell did not underclock those cards to put them in there. -
Joker do you remember what the R2 with 4870CF stock was? -
Mine does over 11k stock GPU. It's the same config as steve except with dual 4870s. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I got 11145 GPU score with stock 4870s in my R1, and that was with minimal tweaking
I think new drivers have done better (mine were 9.12's back then) -
OOPs it was on balanced, i'll rerun it right now under high performance, sorry i'm a noob.
-
wait... i change it from balanced to high performance but when i check it again it says balanced again -_-
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
that should help, also set everything to high performance in the catalyst control center under 3D settings
-
Yep, we need everything to high performance steve. We are all counting on you.
-
high quality or high performance?
edit: i maxed everything to the right and didnt enable triple buffering, bout to rerun the test -
don't touch the vantage settings please... Only the PC's...
-
MY 280Ms are doing 11072. I still can't wait to move to the 5870s on the R2 so that I don't stutt t ttt tt tter anymore.
-
can you tell us temps on both cards please!! im anxious to know =)
-
I'm changing the ati 3d settings like someone asked me to
-
K rerunning with max settings on ATI control center 3d settings. Also on high performance.
-
If these don't hit at least 12-12.5k stock, then the following is in order:
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1ytCEuuW2_A&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1ytCEuuW2_A&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='480' height="385"></embed></object>Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
GL were all voting for this to b epic! else alot of people will be crying when there units arrive ;p
-
Man, I just ordered a machine pretty similar to his today...
-
I won't be crying! The value of my dual 4870s will go back up
-
correction then, ill be crying lol! temps over 85 on my 280's were to uncomfortable to use the keyboard on my r1 i hope these dont go over 70
-
Well also remember it might handle better at test with higher resolution. The stock test for vantage is on a relatively low resolution.
-
LOL Joker on both posts.. and I may not be so worried about which of the two I end up with in my replacement. I hope they didn't underclock the snot out of them so that they stayed within the 240W adapter specs.
-
HERE IT IS! This is on stock clocks btw.

What are the scores? This is more intense then the finale of LOST.
