I don't like it. We should be above 13K... Thanks for the pic by the way. I guess some tweaks are going to be necessary and I wonder if you are also lowering your score because of an HDD vs a fast SSD.

Be patient. All of these scores are based on i7-720QMs. The 820QMs will take it well over 13,000 and the 920XMs should approach 14,000.

12486 is nice for a stock GPU score. I have to over clock my 4870's to 650/1000 to make it to 12300 range.

I just installed Vantage. It's doing a run at stock settings right now with a clean Win 7 install + Dell 5870m drivers. If everyone else is hitting 12.5k then that's what I'm expecting as well.

Test 1: Seems smoother so far, I saw a max of 68 fps and the min fps hit 12 (when she falls in the water).
Test 2: Opening sequence 25-28 fps. When the mothership comes with the fighters next to it it's in the mid 50s and eventually falls to the 30-33 range. When the planet comes into into view the fps hit 22-25. So far the min fps I'm seeing is 20 but on avg its in the 30-45 fps range.

    Vantage results for run 1:
    Total: 12,335
    CPU: 11,188
    GPU:12,771

Theres an 11.5% difference between your GPU score and mine. The estimated difference was 15% so it's close. Bit more tweaks and 13k stock should be very doable.

i'm assuming those are default clocks claxdog. Hmmm. Looks like the ati mobility 5870's are 13% faster than the 4870's. I was expecting a 15-20% improvement.

Oh well they support dx 11

Can't neglect the fact he has a 920XM which is bolstering the 4870's a bit, compared to the other CPU's. That's the problem with running tests with different CPU's it can cloud the differences a bit.

    Actually something like the attachment.

Joker - It would be an interesting test to see if the 5870 works in your system with the 4870s if you ever get a chance.

Didn't the 4870s in CF put out more than 13k? I'm gonna be bummed if the 5870s don't do at least 15 on 3dmark 06.

Thanks to all who have posted benchmarks though.

    Single 5870's routinely score over 13,000, with 920XM's at or over 14,000. Dual 5870's should push 20,000 with a 920 -- stock.

Hey guys, I'm about to configure a m17x and was wondering if it would better to get a 720qm or 620m cpu. I don't really do that much multi tasking or video editing and my budget is around 2k. Or would it be better to get the lowest i5 cpu and get the dual 5870s?
