Lol... I am gonna go ahead and give you rep for that Shawn012507. It was funny.

Thanks for running it. +rep. -
I don't like it. We should be above 13K... Thanks for the pic by the way. I guess some tweaks are going to be necessary and I wonder if you are also lowering your score because of an HDD vs a fast SSD.
-
ahh, see above for 3dmark06

The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Be patient. All of these scores are based on i7-720QMs. The 820QMs will take it well over 13,000 and the 920XMs should approach 14,000. -

12486 is nice for a stock GPU score. I have to over clock my 4870's to 650/1000 to make it to 12300 range.
-
We are talking about GPU scores, the CPU should not affect that score...
-
Which driver do you use?
-
Megacharge Custom User Title
10.3 drivers from AMD's website. -
I just installed Vantage. It's doing a run at stock settings right now with a clean Win 7 install + Dell 5870m drivers. If everyone else is hitting 12.5k then that's what I'm expecting as well.
Test 1: Seems smoother so far, I saw a max of 68 fps and the min fps hit 12 (when she falls in the water).
Test 2: Opening sequence 25-28 fps. When the mothership comes with the fighters next to it it's in the mid 50s and eventually falls to the 30-33 range. When the planet comes into into view the fps hit 22-25. So far the min fps I'm seeing is 20 but on avg its in the 30-45 fps range.
Vantage results for run 1:
Total: 12,335
CPU: 11,188
GPU:12,771Attached Files:

Theres an 11.5% difference between your GPU score and mine. The estimated difference was 15% so it's close. Bit more tweaks and 13k stock should be very doable. -
Thanks Joker, can't wait to see what this will become with 10.5 drivers and maybe a slight OC for of the cards... -
can you do a 3dmark 06 test?
-
i'm assuming those are default clocks claxdog. Hmmm. Looks like the ati mobility 5870's are 13% faster than the 4870's. I was expecting a 15-20% improvement.
Oh well they support dx 11 -
Yeah I agree It should be relatively easy.
-
yeah every thing stock.with overclocking I get in the 13.5/7k range.

Can't neglect the fact he has a 920XM which is bolstering the 4870's a bit, compared to the other CPU's. That's the problem with running tests with different CPU's it can cloud the differences a bit. -
How much hotter do they run when you OC them?
-
they get into the 80's.I run them at stock playing games they run in the 60's and 70's.
-
Ok, so it's quite a bit of difference then.
-
Actually something like the attachment.
Joker - It would be an interesting test to see if the 5870 works in your system with the 4870s if you ever get a chance.Attached Files:

so are my scores on par? for my gpu at least
-
I would like to see a gpu z screenie of the 5870's
-
So i take it, I have the highest score so far.pwned...im a noob. Do you guys need vantage aswell r just 3d mark06?
-
That 12679 score is with a mushkin calisto ssd as well.
-
Anyone run 3dmark06 on CF5870 yet? Saw some a few pages back but I assume it was for a single 5870
-
I'll go ahead and do the 3dmark06 test now.
-
Yep, it's fine.
-
will yes but you didn't provide a screen shot lol
Phew good to hear -
your score is a 3dmark 06 one, and its pretty poor to be honest. Run 3dmark vantage
-
How did you manage to do an install of the 10.5 drivers manually?
-
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
He has a single 5870. So, not so bad; in fact, pretty decent. -
my bad. I thought it was dual. So i take my comment back, 13K on a single gpu for 3d mark 06 is pretty sick.
-
na i have 2 5870's and i did post a screenshot
-
Apparently mine will be here tomorrow.
*cheers* -
Im thinking th basic 3d 06 only sees one. Im about to run vantage, i have a key for advanced so maybe there will be a setting to make sure it sees both
-
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
My bad. Correct your signature. Yep, you need some first aid. -
There is no way you have two 5870's... When did you get your system?
-
Didn't the 4870s in CF put out more than 13k? I'm gonna be bummed if the 5870s don't do at least 15 on 3dmark 06.
Thanks to all who have posted benchmarks though. -

The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Single 5870's routinely score over 13,000, with 920XM's at or over 14,000. Dual 5870's should push 20,000 with a 920 -- stock.
-
Here is my Vantage score at stock clocks. My one and only run on the trial version, lol.
-
Hey guys, I'm about to configure a m17x and was wondering if it would better to get a 720qm or 620m cpu. I don't really do that much multi tasking or video editing and my budget is around 2k. Or would it be better to get the lowest i5 cpu and get the dual 5870s?
-
Dual 5870, CPU won't matter that much for you. If you game with the machine go Dual 5870 all the way.
-
That's a much better score. Did you use Dell drivers? Can you do a run with 10.5 drivers. Thanks so much.
-
That is with the Dell drivers. I didn't know 10.5 is out. I was only able run Vantage once also.
M17x-R2 - out with HD5870
