I have not tried it with my M17x-R2, but seems to me I tried it with one of my earlier laptops purchased through EPP and got that or a similar message.

Yeah I don't have it with mine, got premium warranty too. It might only be for people with hearing disability or something.

Just got my M17x earlier this week and lovin' it! After reading so...many...pages from you other owners, I have a couple questions that I didn't see answered.

1: What kind of FPS do you get with Crysis? I tried running everything at max, it looked gorgeous, but only got maybe 10-15 FPS (no tweaking done on my laptop yet).

2: It seems every time I shut down my computer, when I bring it back up, my speaker selection goes back to stereo instead of the 5.1. Does anyone else have this issue?

    Thanks!

The M17x is just as loud (may be a hair softer; but not much) as the M1730 if both have fans on full blast.

I would put up a complete black screen or white screen to see if you notice it.. One thing I have done is taken a black and/or white picture and full screened it with no color and if it is dead, it will stick out really fast..

At least with my M17x-R2, the 3dmark06 scores fell by like 200 between the shipped drivers and the 10.3-beta drivers, I think someone said the 8.2's were best for benchmarking. Games OTOH do seem to be a bit better, I haven't really measured it but there seem to be fewer stutters as the frame rate jogs around and play is smoother over all.

that's what the program does, it displayes black/white/green/red/blue colors fullscreen as per your selection. I see no dead pixels.

LOL - nothing like Alienware Pr0n pics :p

Although mine is silver, the black looks nice with the yellow-orange lid face lit up. Maybe I should post some pics of a Lunar Silver M17x and an M15x Lunar shadow for some more perspective on the colors.

A quick question has anyone had a problem with the AC converter getting very hot? The reason I ask cause I was playing L4D2 for about 5 hours straight and it got too hot and shut off on me, it is working fine now I just won't play that long again. I think AW should get a bigger converter maybe 260w or 275w I don't know just thinking out loud.
