Just to make sure, do everything like I said and see if that works for you. If not then I don't know what to say..

Ran CCleaner. Still the same...No Control center thing on the install I've run out of paitents....
-
Do you currently have catalyst center installed with the windows driver?
-

-
I had issues the first time and couldn't install over the beta drivers. I was able to under the windows drivers which for me automatically also installed ccc.
I just did a fresh install last night because I picked up an ssd and this time the windows drivers didn't install properly. Windows didn't find the proper drivers and didn't install ccc. Anyhow 10.3 ended up installing fine without windows drivers or dell drivers.
It's strange how sometimes it seems to work and other times it doesn't. -
God. Wth. Am i doing wrong!?
-
-
Ikuto,
Did you try choosing the express install? Disregard the status of your CCC just run the latest 10.3 installer again and choose the "express" one. And if you could also provide step by step screenshots, - would be great.
-
Your third screenshot shows the custom install. Does it pop-up automatically?
-
-
What drivers ver. do you see in Device manager?
-
-
So it looks like I won't be a complete "Owner" of an M17x until my motherboard gets replaced (if that fixes the crossfire issue) or a replacement M17xR2.
-
Looks like the default W7 driver, right?
Seems like there are still some registry keys left. You need to run both registry cleaner and driver cleaner. If you didn't run the CCleaner, do it. If you did, then even CClean missed something. I'd run it again, anyway, without rebooting into safe mode.
Before running the cleaner, uninstall the ATI tools.
Run the CClean (including the registry ).
Try installing the ATI set again. -
-
any1 try driver sweeper?

-
No, I mean a fresh W7 install.
-
-
Wait a sec, after removing the ATI package, do you still have those directories on C (ATI, AMD)? If yes, try removing them and then running the installer again.
-
Okay i'll try but I dont think it'll work...Should i remove the c++ Microsoft thingy?
Nope still CCC isn't there -.- -
Leave it...
-
Nope doesn't change anything....Im on the edge of returning this Laptop and building a Desktop...
*Sigh* I'm returning it. I've had enough. I manually updated the driver through Device manager. So now it isn't Microsoft drivers its ATI's but i STILL DONT HAVE CCC. God I've had enough. I'm going to call them today and return it. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I tried MANY things and ended up just reverting back to an old image of the drive from before I ran driver sweeper. It installed without a hitch then....I blame driver sweeper
To Dell's credit....this probem is not theirs but ATI's. No matter what I was always able to load the Dell drivers -

If you post which BSOD you're getting maybe we might help.
Also, what do you mean it won't connect to the internet ?
Did you follow the right steps to install the drivers (Chipset, and then all the rest) ? -
-
Ikuto, i understand your frustration, but let's kill the problems one by one and maybe you'll end up with a functioning system soon
To disable automatic restart :
1. right click My Computer -> Properties
2. Advanced system settings
3. Advanced Tab
4. under startup and recovery press Settings
5. Uncheck automatically restart and press ok. -

Well for all those with the 10.3 driver problems, here what I did.
I just did a fresh install on my M17x-r2, and when I got to install the 10.3 ATIs, it installed.... nothing. I haven't done any sweeper or anything, since I saw the posts of Joker about that. And I remember seeing somewhere on this thread that the new 10.3 have difficulties intalling when no other previous drivers are found.
So I just installed my 10.3 PREVIEW drivers, wich installed perfectly, then installed 10.3 over it, without sweeping or anything else, and it worked perfectly.
Wish this will help. -
write down all the parameters.
also, please note that the bsod will create a memory dump. it will tell you where it is.. so save it too and post it.
