So I got the razer mamba (again) today since my Logitech Performance MX, while very nice, is simply too bulky for gaming. Anyway, one quirk I noticed about the mamba is that when I pick up the mouse and put it back down, there's momentary lag before it activates again. This is a major problem in FPS games and I was wondering if anyone else noticed this issue? I changed over to the Alienware mouse pad and so far it's working a bit better but it's still there a little. Has anyone found a complete resolution to this? I did a google search and some others have had the same problem and claim that they switched to a light colored mouse pad which resolved the problem. I really like my black metal pad so I was hoping there was a software tweak I could do.
-
I assume you're on the latest drivers? -
Yup I ran the razer update utility and it updated the firmware and driver. The alienware mouse pad is working good now so I guess I'll need to get something better soon. How do you like the kabuto pad so far? And damn this razer really is sexy, it's blue lights compliments the M17x nicely. Looks and feels a lot better than my performance mx. -
It's lasted great. The grip bottom has zero slide to it, the smoother side I also use as my microfiber screen wiper and fingerprint cleaner. It doesn't fit perfectly inside the m17x, but it it fits. I think it's the perfect size for a mousepad. Rolls up nicely, and handles all DPI well.
Yeah the Mamba is an awesome looking mouse -
sorry i havent had the time of posting what im getting paychecks screwed up
so in bout two weeks this is the kinda mx17 im probably gonna be getting. Just wanna make sure that what im getting will be the most stable thing, playing games like bf2142, COH, COD, wow etc etc on high definitions.

the ram is a waste but the rest is nice

Hey Joker, I've been using my mouse on the Goliathus (which is a straight black pad) without any issue. But i find it responds the best (and this might just be my opinion) on the Razer Vespula (speed side). None of my other mice (the cooler master or the orochi) glide as nicely as my mamba does.

Alright well I just got my R2 replacement today...i'm drooling over the RGB screen
I have only installed my AV so far, what are some stuff I should do before I start installing all my other apps? -
-
Guys, I got my laptop,
but I just can't find where the wireless card is..
Is there a dissembling guide for the R2 somewhere that I can look at? -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
It is under the palm rest
Remove the battery. Unscrew the 3 screws that the battery hides. Slide the palm rest towards the front of the laptop (the speaker side). Remove the ribbon connector. There is your wireless and bluetooth cards -
Thought you guys might be interested...
Steam is having a very nice sale for the next 10 days.
Some examples :
Whole COD collection for 29.99
33% off on all Ubisoft games
75% off on all Codemasters games (Dirt2 for 10$!!!)
Valve complete pack for 110$
I think the discounts change daily so more to come!! -
Yup I just bought 3 games today!
-
What did you buy, Joker ?
I just bought Dirt2, and i am considering the COD pack. -
Those sales are insane, but i'm out of money, already spent 90€ on steam this month ...
-
-
Just bought Trine too.
Thanks for the tip, i didn't know this game before, looks awesome. -
Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
they send you dvds or just you download them ? by the way steam should consider upgrade their servers first thus preventing hacks from their official servers. when do the offers end? -
You download the games.
-
Sucks it doesn't have the newest COD, soon enough anyway the newest one will be black ops and i hope and pray this one will not be so horrible and have such a short story line. Well the other deals are just fantastic but i don't have much money currently so i might pick up on something, that valve pack is such a crazy deal. In terms of download speed if you got a T1 connection at your school or work like my school i was downloading star trek online the demo at 2-4 megabytes a second really crazy man!

Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
really dont panic for mw2. what i said for steam is coming from an official owner of it, myself
-
for example, GTA IV, which is 17Gig, was downloaded in about 2hrs
+ Steam keeps your games up to date automatically + you dont have to put the disc inside to play + you can download a game as much as you like + you can backup your games on hdd or DVD + It has a great community + they have insane specials all the time + they give good support + .....
Obviously i am a steam fanboy, there might be some drawbacks as well but they don't outweigh the advantages of the system -
Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
ok it depends on the IP provider but one is for sure (if i was in US i would be really satisfied with the steam central server- what happens outside US is agian an other discussion). they allow hacks like wallhacks and stuff on official servers which is really anoying to say the least
-
only thing you can do then is , setting up a new account and buy your game again, so i don't think many ppl would risk cheating on steam multiplayer games.. -
Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
what i mean is what i said. there are many people cheating in multplayer. dont know how.
-
but how can you even know someone is cheating ?
the only cheating experience i ever had was like typing some cheat code to get more money in some game instead of doing a mission over and over to get somwhere and then i am talking single player
anyway; cheaters ruin the online experience, they should all be banned
but tell me, whats the difference in playing for example crysis thru steam opposed to the disc version, both use punkbuster, same goes for modern warfare etc ..., why would steam be less secure, they are not hosting the servers
we hates them, evil cheaterses
its our precious and they ruins it for us -
I will agree cheaters ruin the multilayer part of games, I've seen quite a few hackers in L4D+L4D2 using speed hacks most of the time, Most of the time cheaters don't get caught due to the failure of VAC/or they just get banned off the Dedi server, making the ban useless. -
I would do this (if it's me): upgrade the CPU and cut back on the RAM (extreme OEM CPU is neither cheap nor easy to find yet and it's much more complicate to swap as comparing to swaping RAM), and up the 3 year warranty plan to 4 years.
And I hope you are fully aware that 5870 CrossfireX can only run driver from DELL at the moment (as driver from ATI is not fully supported yet). By this, I mean you cannot just go to AMD and download the latest ATI driver and install it. -
-
-
I like very much co-op multiplayer games though, then it doesn't matter that much if you're not a pro at it -
The other option you MIGHT have is to modify memory locations on your client, that is assuming the data you need to modify is client side.
In most modern MMO's, most data except the graphics etc, is all server side, and all that is really sent between server and client is location data.
I worked on something similar back in the day, not modifying the stream, but decoding it and showing locations ShowEQ Open Source Project | Download ShowEQ Open Source Project software for free at SourceForge.net is what I helped with back in the day, and its no where as easy now as it was then. -
-
-
no problem, but Ikuto has a point by telling that people cheat in online games, because they do, even though I have no clue how, and i'm not interested because i don't intend to cheat. What does interest me is ways to prevent ppl from cheating so it stays fun for ppl that are fair.
-
I'm not telling anyone to cheat I'm just showing what I know. I haven't cheated but more studied the program to see how it functions. -
Has anyone tried Split/Second with a pair of 4850s? I have max rez and very high and I am getting variable framerates. Seems to be only playable on the lowest rez and on High. I got 10.6 also.
-
I'm having no problems with that game and 5870's.
-
-
-
Just picked up the Codemasters Dirt2 Pack and Witcher. Stupid Dirt 2 went from 10$ to being part of a 23$ package. Oh well.
-
Hrm,. I think it was reviews like that that I had read that initially caused me to switch from this to the Intel x-25.
Then again its just a few bad experiences compared to how many people are currently using these. If there is an increase in the negative feedback then seagate has a problem. -
I looked at the SSD, and TBH I cant justify the cost vs storeage space ratio....the speed boost just isnt worth it.
Two of these in a raid0 will scream without the huge cost of SSD, plus the other benefit is that if you raid0 SSD'd dont you defeat TRIM ?, where these do not have that issue. -
I can't justify running SSD's in raid. The whole point of raid 0 is to gain speed benefits. But just putting in an SSD garners you massive speed increases. Stick to single SSD boot/applications - HDD for everything else. If anything SSD and one of these Momentus XT's should run quite nicely. However. I'm still wary of early adoption on these drives. And knowing what SSD's can do first hand I don't want to give up the speed boost for something better than HDD but not as good as true ssd.
Also Raid 0 being as unstable as it is. turns me off. -
Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
just to remind you raid enabled ssds dont have trim support meaning that ssds will lose performance through the time. at least not yet. just to let you know of the initial performance difference my ssds in AHCI show 160mb/sec read (its false hd tune pro reading but anyway) while in RAID0 i reached 500mb/sec wth hd tue pro again
guys have you seen this by the way?

oh ok! i never checked that

Has anyone besides me and mfractal purchased Trine? That game taxes the GPU's VERY hard. I had mine OC'd to a mere 830/1050 and it shot up my GPU temps to 105C and caused them to auto throttle! I can play bad company 2, crysis warhead etc all day long at 900/1100 but this little side scroller pushes the GPU's like mad.
-
Lol well now that you've let us know that little tidbit of info i'll probably avoid downloading it. Went for Dirt pack and witcher today. Saving some cash for tomorrow's promo.
