Nice score, got it updated. +1. Also if possible, don't let imageshack resize your pics. just under the upload thing there should be an option to resize, and what size, if you click it you can scroll down to "Do Not Resize" Just makes it easier to see your screenshot.

Also as for temps... Check these out, Not my highest score with my 5870's, but one that I found. Check you those temps :D

    Vantage: P 21390
    GPU: 21058

Well I am not going for any records here obviously, but am curious what these 580s can do. I overvolted to .92v using widzu's vbios. I ran Vantage at 800 linked & 1800. I got stuttering results as my GPU hit 79C. Then I put a book under the back of laptop, which I have NEVER done before. Now it ran fine at those clocks maxing out at 74C (and I like typing on the angled keyboard more :) )

    My 2720 and 580m got:
    17276 overall
    16618 GPU
    19604 CPU
    .

Thanks Widzu on the vBios overvolt, the book idea, and Gamebooster to kill most of my extra apps.

EDIT: AND THIS IS MY 1000th POST!

    UPDATE:

I tried for 840/1800, but I started hitting the 79C thermal throttle. I guess that is why the freezer comes into play. I could watch the Benchmark go from a nice fluid 60+ frame rate to 3fps when the clocks got cut. This was with back angled up. Well that kinda sucks. I like how stable the 800/1800 OC is. I didn't see any artifacts at all, my 6990m started show minor ones at a similar benchmark score.

I was trying to overclock the cards to above 800/1000, but I couldn't achieve much with them being undervolted. So I had to return them to stock voltage, here are some runs after o'cing:

thanks john, I was wondering, what does ULPS mean? because when I increased the voltage to above 1.1V, even if it's very minute step say 1.105, it just locks the secondary gpu?

do you know if it's there is any way to bypass this limitation?

    @Len Thanks :D

@ahmadmud Nice score! As far as ULPS (Ultra low power state), and your voltage issues, The 6900 series cards cant go past 1.1v The 5870's were able to go to 1.15v, but the 6900s max out at 1.1v. One of the draw backs of the cards :(

default bus speed for sandy bridge is 100MHz, it used to be 133MHz for older generations but now it is different.

I believe you can overclock it using setfsb, but i am not sure...

Yeah do it, crank the short and long power limits as high as they go, and the TimeWindow to 56 (also the highest). Then work your BCLK up slowly.

    alright cool.
i just repasted my thermal paste (using mx-4) for the both cpu and gpu :D
and did some small copper mod
before gpu idling at 55c (clock at 870/1220)
now gpu idling at 55c too -,- (clock at 875/1225) lol

edit: just redo repasting the thermal paste with tuniq tx-4
now idling at 53c (clock at 870/1220)
ran furmark for 10mins (stock clock) hovering at about 71c :)

here is another run. yeah the latest gpu-z seems to be reporting the numbers that way. with or with rog skin its the same. just to lazy to switch versions sorry guys. only had time for one dice run, was using all the dice for a 6970, but thats a different project. i think these beta drivers are holding me back. anyone have a good one to recommend.

not really drivers but more so ccc settings...you have a higher gpu 2 test which is based more on memory over clock..vs test one is based more on core over clock.
keep running the same over clock to make sure it's what it should be....when you get more time...that is.

and when i ran these cards on dice...not much better than just running cold air...maybe another 10 to 15 mhz on core.

btw how do ya flash your GPU clock up to 800/1100 @ stock clock?
and is there any recommended cooling mod you got there? :D

edit: do you replace all the thermal pads on the gpu area? may i know what thickness is the best for our system?

i used gpu-z to get the original bios. then used rbe to edit the bios. then used atiflash on a bootable usb to flash from dos. the revelator has a nice guide on it but i can't seem to find it. but i will attach some helpful links for you.

i use fuji poly premium .5mm pads with icd24 paste.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...x-owners-lounge-part-4-a-393.html#post6359177

just remember that the info is for another card, so use and modify your original bios. DO NOT USE the ones in the link.
