So what could you oc inap?
Both voltage and the stock clock?
Whats your highest voltage mate?![]()
Where could i find the original vbios to flash on rbe? Hmm...
So did ya replace all the thermal pads on gpu area with 0.5 fuji pads?
Sorry for asking ya so many question kinda beginner on flasing and ocing![]()

Nice! Still far far away from me though

pass me your 580m
ill blow it to the max lols -
28k isn't enough

time to raise the bar widezu69...
i just raised dual gpu 3dmark11 score past the amd..
your turn to do the same for single gpu. -
It is indeed AMD dethroning time. Will run some updated benchies soon.
-
by the way compare to normal 1333 ram with the HyperX 1600 mhz ram, will it run faster during benchmarking/games?
I am looking forward to buy 1600 hyperX ram and 128gb ssd -
Ssd and ram won't make much difference in 3d benchmarks. Ssd will just help load times. Ram May make a tiny difference, but it would be negligible.

17967 vantage score
22042 on 3dmark 2006
a new 580m GTX coming in the charts

Got your PM. Just make sure you upload it to the general forum and I will get it updated in the leaderboard. If possible, use an imageshack thumbnail or spoiler tags.
Helps to hide stuff for those (like myself) who view from my phone -
Done sir !
I am now wondering how I can break those 17.9K vantage limit and 22K 06.
I tried to max to cpu o/c but I can't go past 104.7 for now....
Thanks to precious advices here, I use nvidia inspector, which is just incredibly well working. -
Where do I post this to get on the scoreboard?

What laptop do you have? How the hell did you get a 20k GPU score? Is that single or Dual GPU?
-
I have an M17X r3, 2960XM, AMD 6990M, 16 GB Hyperx 1600GHz., Crucial 256GB SSD. I had the GPU OC'd to 875/1200. How come I got a 0 score
-
All benchmarks are run at default settings of 1280x1024. You need to show your resolution for both 3DMark06 and Vantage. When run at default settings Vantage will give a "P" score, 3DMark06 will show the Resolution in the menu. See my sig for details. Using the same resolution is to ensure everyone is on the same level.

is there a guide on what to do to improve these scores or improve performance?
-
There are guides out there, but you need to use the search function to find them
Theres differant things for differant models. Sandy Bridge VS 1st Gen core-i, Nvida VS AMD. All depends on your system.
All depends on what your looking to overclock for. Purely Numbers? Gaming? Encoding?
Here is one way I improve performance.

Haha nice, my 2920xm does wPrime 1024m in under 185 seconds

DR650SE could you post? I have my rig in the fridge when benching which helps quite a bit

AMD cheaters /jk.
-
where do you find that setting? -
Here:
Depends on what drivers you are using. The recent ones should have them.
For accurate results that reflect your systems capabilities, you should tick "Use Application Settings" which allows 3DMark 11 to run on proper settings. Forcing tessellation to off is like us Nvidia folk leaving Physx on to inflate our scores. Apparently there's hardly any difference if you choose AMD optimised which to me, when I had a 6990m, was the best option IMHO. -
As widezu says, AMD optimized is definitely a good choice, especially for gaming.
Of course it doesn't make a lot of sense to disable tess in a benchmark where tessellation is a main feature, but benchmarking is number hunting, and as long as it's only a regular driver setting there's nothing that could be done about this. That's also the reason why it's officially allowed on hwbot. Nvidia users had a similar tweak some years ago with a mapping setting, which lead to similar discussions...
And also there's no way to see what tessellation level the Nvidia card uses (at least not as far as I remember, has been a couple of months since I last used a Ndidia card), so Nvidia could simply "boost" the score by adjusting the driver.
What's needed is a method that allows the bench software to see whether tess was on or off.
Remember... there has been a time where you had an AMD card yourself, and I think you had a slightly different point of view at that time, hahaha -
i also ran a test with part of the tessellation turned off and i get 9.1k gpu score...so yes friends...the tess is making quite a difference... -
i am running the latest 11.10 whql -

AMD cards seem to perform admirably in 3DMark 11. My 580m inches ahead, just. No cheating or shortcuts of any sorts here. Full tessellation. 5k here I come!

Nice score Wide, a lot of that is your CPU, but still great showing. I bet somone with some Sandy Bridge XM CPU know how, and an AMD card could be right up there with you. Cant wait to see 5K
. I'll get the boards updated early next week, as I need to go out of town this weekend and have been swapped this past week.

DR650SE, have you tried benching single 6990?
-
The Revelator Notebook Prophet
Awesome temperature control with the 2920xm at 43x, Widezu. How'd you do that?
-
we got a long way to go. haha -
I just need several hours to prep the system which is why a lot of benches I did for HWbot.org were minor OC and very quickly done. Just done for points.
Nice score. Pretty close to my Dual 5870's run at over 1GHz on the GPU core.
-
That Physics test score is sick john. Almost a full 12 pts higher than mine. I was just looking at the scores side by side. Why was there no P score? Resolution?
What I need to do is run just the Physics test to see how the 920XM/940XM stacks up to the Sandy Bridge when really pushed. As it stands, with 5870s and more so with the 6900 cards, I've had to really tone it down to prevent PSU tripping. Those sandy bridge CPUs are pretty sweet. -
sandy is indeed a major condender... -
-
but since you have 6990's can you run the hwbot verson of heaven to see if you can turn it off there...you dont even have to run the full test...the first 10 seconds should tell you -

Scores seem strangely high for your clocks. Are you sure you aren't fiddling with the Vantage settings? Are you running the default "Performance" profile?

) nice OC

No my base is still 2.5, can't change that. 4.3 is my turbo on all cores.
