yep stealth got me too. i forgot i turned it on then shut down laptop. turned on laptop later and was converting movies and working with photoshop. it lagged like poop on a stick. i thought it was because i was running photoshop and converting at the same time. Nope. that sneaky stealth mode.

All the Vantage GPU scores are around 11,000 at stock clocks since they're all using Xfire 4870s.

Great job guys. Make sure you have screen shots of your clocks for CPU and GPU to get into the Top 5 rankings. Even if the runs are stock.

    Great job!

Wow nice M17x scores!! Core i7 is truly awesome.

I'm dabbling in overclocking myself.. but i'm new to I7 and have very little clue what i'm doing. I increased my BCLK frequency which caused a system crash, thats pretty much as far as my i7 knowledge goes!

Can anyone share resources on how to get started with i7 overclocking?

Unfortunately it will depend on your system. Tools will very based on system. If you want some real general info I'm sure it can be googled, here I'm sure someone (Moo) will come up with something specifically for the M17xR2.

Vantage GPU is the same as R1. Stock CPU is in the 16K range. You're seeing a lot of 3DMark06 runs because of the new CPU.

Well Mandrake...if I had unlocked voltage I think 3.8-4.0 would be doable on the CPU like you had on the M17. That coupled with these cards should absolutely get over 20k

I had 20k (or dam close) on my desktop with a Q9550 at 3.8 and dual 4850s stock I believe (similar hardwares)

Can someone with a 920XM check their Core for me? Core #2 on my CPU is higher by 6 - 7 degrees higher than the rest of the other Cores. Is it normal?

yes, this is normal with i7's.
they can get as far as 10 to 15 degrees apart from lowest to highest core...

You're not paying attention to the fact that when Reng didn't overclock his graphics cards at all, his score was 19k. CPU score was only like 1,500 above mine, so explain how his 4870's are able to out perform mine by 2,500 points? And let me add that there were people scoring 18,000 minimum out of the box. Yet their CPU score wasn't getting 3,000 more points than mine.

I understand that I have an 820 and they have a 920, but the CPU shouldn't influence graphics scores by thousands of points, only the CPU score.
