Those temps aint bad then
Just did a quick run on my R1 with the qx9300 stock and sitting on the Cryo, never went over 63 - to give an idea of the cooling between the 2 machines

has anyone one experienced a dropped FPS on resident evil 5 benchmark variable. I ran through it last nite and this morning and the 4th section of the benchmark bottoms, I cant see why its doing this.
-
Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
But of course you don't have my specs. But my previous m17x-R1 didn't have that problem though. -
I've tried unclocking to see if its a overclocking issue but it does the same thing on 2.4 and I've noticed a slight fps drop without hybrid on?
-
yeah i think if you disable hybrid it runs off the integrated graphics check your device manager.
-
Went back to an old driver, completely different benchmark
, did not bottom out on resident evil 5 variable section 4 like it previously, nvidia is so software driven. Got a grade of B, 59.5 average FPS not bad I can play with that frame rate
-
Lol that should be an A*, 59.5 frames average is a solid playing rate lol.

I still wana see crysis runs from people with R2's..
C'mon ppl..! there must be so many R2's out there by now.. -

Did another bench of RE5, with 186.46 driver, also unlocked frames and vsync to my delight nice little A, with average of 72 FPS pretty happy and unlocked frames for SF4 same bench score A and got a 7000+
. I never cared about benching before but its getting addictive is there any other benchmarks i can look out for and try for my system.

Vantage is a fun one CUELLARM, its worth buying, unless someone has a spare key!
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Vantage, 06, FC2, Crysis
those are all popular ones. there is also a good list with links in the first post of the thread -
Hey Scook, do you have any of your crysis benchmarks saved, one with the QX9300 stock, and one with it OC'd (both on very high 1920x1080 no AA) both with stock 4870's?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I don't have them saved but they are in the last pages of the 2nd benchmark thread, there is a link on the first page of this thread
-
Well I know I can't contribute any R2 benchmarks... yet...But I finally loaded some stuff to my 1720 since it's all I have and OCed the GPU and got the scores in my sig. Just thought I'd share since I'm jealous of the R2 owners, well just a little considering the problems.
3DMark @ stock clocks.-------- 3449
3DMark Overclocked----------- 4259
Vantage @ stock clocks-------- P1115
Vantage Overclocked----------- P1410
This T9300 was scoring only 300 pts shy of my QX9300 at stock clocks in Vantage. Makes me wish I had tried OCing it in the M17XR1.
The 1720 can't OC the CPU through BIOS or software
Also, when running the CPU test in Vantage, the Physics one, it ran a lot smoother then in the M17XIs Vantage optimized for a dual core?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
that is a really high cpu score for a dual core....was physx on?
-
ya thats what i was going to say
-
You might wana check this out, scroll down a little and you'll see a comparison between the scores of the two processors in question.

Give it a go with physics disabled.

as you discuss about i7 core scores and QX9300 scores i remind you mine.
i7 core 920 only slightly beats QX9300 or slightly more when its overclocked. i7 cores are not supposed to be overclocked anyway as they overclock by themselves. -
My 920 score on stock beat the above score by a fairly large margin. I wouldn't call it close at all. If aw fixes the flickering then oc'ing will just widen the gap further.
-
-
Everything was meant to be over-clocked.
-
720/820 locked
920 unlocked
but
if you can crack the 720...it will out do the 920 at far less money..... -
-
I like that

it's part of the fun....

his gpu was also overclocked. i'm having more problems with minies. time to call dell again.

I think what he means is that he's going to test the 720 in his R2 to see if it flickers. -
Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
is there overclock option in bios of R2 for the i920? because if there is not its not covered by quarantee as overclocking on R1 does. If you are meant to compare highest scores i think one reached 3.3 ghz on qx9300 which i couldnt. i cant remember his score. as for the final 3dmark 06 score i never overclocked the ATIs and never pressed them to the limits. futhermore the turbo technology of intel seems to press the final score so high than the i7 core itself.

so wait is there a way to crack a 720 or 820?
-
there is always a way...the problem is finding it.... moo is working on it as well.
-
What do you mean by crack the 720 or 820? Like overclocking it?
-
yes... over clocking it.
in many cases..over clocking lower end chips did as well or better than extreme cpus...until....the temps are in the negatives...then the extremes would do better using lower voltage to gain higher clocks. (speculation of course) -
cracking it, testing the flickering...everything!
Still waiting.... -
works for me...get to the bottom of mr drake..
now i have one for you guys...
you can start using hwbot.org to keep track of your gpu scores and ranking and some cpu's..going to ask to see if they will do a more on laptops over there.
click my banner and you will see what i mean.
they do dual and single gpus and have a list of benchmarks... the search works great for finding people or members. you wont get any global records, but can be used to rank you guys as a whole. no gaming benchmarks there though. only cpu/gpu
edit:
so nothing in the mail/usps/ups/fedex?
i see ya over there scook9...with your 3 shinny gold trophies...hahaha.
man, now i wish i did have 260m's/280m's/4870's/285m's... -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Ya I figured I might as well get my name up there....before all the R2 users destroy my 06 score
lol
Should NBR start a team? Is there enough interest in this guys? -
it should be enough interest...the problem...no one wants to spend money on the benching software..lol
now you can bench them all but they will take quite some time to complete. but if you registered on orb, then it will allow you to submit those scores and keep them. all without you buying all the programs...(speculation on a few of those though)
and they have mods there to inspect for cheating...lol
wonder how many actually have a r1 let alone a r2...(lol j/k)
or how many are really up on the mobile market, but at least it's a place to get noticed and actually have some sort of ranking system.
and for those who have desktops...it doesn't hurt your profile one bit. -
Id like to dabble once i get my machine but i must find the magic key to my processors heart!
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Well the only thing that distinguished my scores as a laptop was my comment and the fact that my cpu and video cards are only available in a laptop, it is not in an actual laptop section
-
nope...
its the part that says mobility or
9800m gtx
9800m gts
9800m gt
280m
4870 mobilty
that pretty much says it's some sort of laptop..
not to mention if you fill in all the info...it will posted as one. (indirectly though)
