I did test this when I had the M17x. The memory followed the standard. 1066Mhz always had less latency that 1333Mhz.
The M17 had a capable bios...well at least the one zfactor hacked.![]()
With the nVidia chipset it will NEVER work with the M17xR1.

heres a couple of good glance through articles and pictures
this one 1333 vs 1066

are you sure you want that score submitted??
-
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
-
ok, the weak sauce has been added.
-
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
I see you are trying to honor your avatar he. But thx for the quik response
-
-
lol...everyone who's submitting are submitting OC'ed results. Yours are stock.
-
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
Yes i am stock. But im 3rd thats pretty good
-
throw up the top 5 stock section then..
now that is just wrong...lol
side note though evil
like ricky bobby said..."if you ain't first...your last"
so about 99 percent of us are all tied...for last...lol -
lol, yeah #3 of 3....congrats!

cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
The battle for best stock scores is just as hard as best OC'd scores, alot of system tweaking still has to take place haha
But ya....just do some quick OC then do it again Evil
-
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
Im not trying to stress my system to much. i get these bsod when i lift the laptop very fast or when i hit it on the sides. I think there is a loose cable or memory. untill i kow what it is i am not OCing.
-
yikes. Have you reseated the memory and hard disks already?
-
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
No not yet. I wanna make a call to dell first to see if they agree to that.
-
Aristotelhs2060 Notebook Virtuoso
actually those results are crap despite the low timings.. i could blame the cpu speed? -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
he wasnt bragging on the ram, he was showing the effect of changing the timings
-
Yeah, that had a T2500 proc in it. My 4 year old Thinkpad has that proc.

no one is really posting anything so

As promised earlier.

Hey Mandrake how's that Mushkin SSD working out for yah? Do you like it so far?
-
The Mushkin worked out fine. No stuttering or loss of performance. Supposedly there is already a new firmware that increases performance over the one I have but I never installed it. I've since pulled the drive because I needed more space and I already had my Intel drive installed.
-
*facepalm*
exactly. it was to show he could gain some nice gains on his own ram..guess that got lost in the translation...
eactly..it was my nc8430 with t2500 cpu and patriot ram. stock clocked at 5-5-5-15... was just trying to give an example of how much you can pick up just doing that without dropping the cas5 to cas4...lots of little tweaks that help different things your benching....
nice run!!
this is the time to download all the original benchmarks
2001
2003
2005
pcmark 05
pcmark 04
run them and save them to your orb database. as long as your registered under one product..you can save your scores running the demo versions.
see if the the older cpus can benefit here -
Hey 3vil, what driver version are you running btw? I'm getting a high with the same rig specs of 15294 in 3dmark06 as a best, about 400 off from you, I figure it's probably a driver version.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i dont have any orb stuff.
how much is it? -
you dont have a vantage account either?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
nope. lol. nothing what so ever.

Hey Don, I can give you a priceless advise on how to get 3DMark06 for like $4.00.
Edited: Actually $8.00 including shipping. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
how?
everyone download this
http://downloads.guru3d.com/Cryostasis-PhysX-Tech-Demo-download-2211.html
cryostasis benchmark. phsyx has a big impact on this.
i think nvidia will have a upper hand in this. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I got 2 vantage keys and my 06 key all free with desktop hardware haha.....
-
some of these new laptops should have came with a free vantage key...not one did??
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
here is my runs. i think i know why it ran like crap. more testing
-
did you figure it out don?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i believe it's physics that's causing it run like crap. like it is making the cpu do the work because it's ati and it doesn't support physx for ati.... my fan doesn't spin up until the benchmark is finish and onces the fans spins up, the benchmark starts to run smooth. i came to this conclusion. i will run stock cpu and it should make a difference. i will post results.

sorry for the Stupid Question, and sorry for it to be a bit OffTopic bit; what are the best Drivers For Single Nvidia VGA outher? ar Still the Dox 182.46?
the DOX 182.46 was the drivers Mandraker Used to break record's on the original m17x i think...
BGuards and Congrates for the ATI POWER
hehe

Kade Storm The Devil's Advocate
Lawl. You guys just hit the Cryostasis benchmark? Talk about ancient history. People were sick of that benchmark when it came out for the same reasons. No, it is not going to favour ATi because of the darned PhysX. Nah. It's not worth the effort. Honestly, it's got Physx-bias. Leave it out for the sake of keeping things sane.
By the way, those fast bits that you see Don, they're blistering fast on Nvidia. Wanna' know why? No real water physx being rendered nearby. My maximum rates were over 120 at some point. It's a crazy benchmark, and the game is even crazier. There's something very wrong with how it was coded. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
yeah. i dropped the cpu to 2.53ghz and i lost 5fps on the average.
-
@Mandrake
What do you think the odds are that a hacked BIOS allowing overclocking of the 720 and 820 will appear? I'm very disappointed that even a measly 5% is not available....
-
Was this key indicated by preloaded software or some sticker or number on a form with the system?
-
Anything is possible. The right people just need to be motivated. Asus twin turbo program can adjust the bclk frequency but I believe it works like Intel's XTU program where it needs support of the bios.
-
No one can Help me? (i try out to find in google and to search in the forum but with no luck....
bguards and thanks to all -
I haven't used nVidia for about 6 months now. I'm out of the loop. I'm sure you can appreciate this though....
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
that is the Asus though isn't it Mandrake......dam them for having a superior BIOS!
lol -
yeah, it's the only system I have to bench right now but the CPU benching is really fun.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I'll bet with those speeds. Can you manipulate the voltage?
-
nope.
/10char -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
wow, that is at stock voltage?
