I did test this when I had the M17x. The memory followed the standard. 1066Mhz always had less latency that 1333Mhz.

The M17 had a capable bios...well at least the one zfactor hacked. ;)

With the nVidia chipset it will NEVER work with the M17xR1.

The battle for best stock scores is just as hard as best OC'd scores, alot of system tweaking still has to take place haha

But ya....just do some quick OC then do it again Evil ;)

The Mushkin worked out fine. No stuttering or loss of performance. Supposedly there is already a new firmware that increases performance over the one I have but I never installed it. I've since pulled the drive because I needed more space and I already had my Intel drive installed.

    *facepalm*
exactly. it was to show he could gain some nice gains on his own ram..guess that got lost in the translation...
eactly..it was my nc8430 with t2500 cpu and patriot ram. stock clocked at 5-5-5-15... was just trying to give an example of how much you can pick up just doing that without dropping the cas5 to cas4...lots of little tweaks that help different things your benching....
    nice run!!

this is the time to download all the original benchmarks
    2001
    2003
    2005
    pcmark 05
    pcmark 04

run them and save them to your orb database. as long as your registered under one product..you can save your scores running the demo versions.

see if the the older cpus can benefit here

Hey 3vil, what driver version are you running btw? I'm getting a high with the same rig specs of 15294 in 3dmark06 as a best, about 400 off from you, I figure it's probably a driver version.

i believe it's physics that's causing it run like crap. like it is making the cpu do the work because it's ati and it doesn't support physx for ati.... my fan doesn't spin up until the benchmark is finish and onces the fans spins up, the benchmark starts to run smooth. i came to this conclusion. i will run stock cpu and it should make a difference. i will post results.

Lawl. You guys just hit the Cryostasis benchmark? Talk about ancient history. People were sick of that benchmark when it came out for the same reasons. No, it is not going to favour ATi because of the darned PhysX. Nah. It's not worth the effort. Honestly, it's got Physx-bias. Leave it out for the sake of keeping things sane.

By the way, those fast bits that you see Don, they're blistering fast on Nvidia. Wanna' know why? No real water physx being rendered nearby. My maximum rates were over 120 at some point. It's a crazy benchmark, and the game is even crazier. There's something very wrong with how it was coded.

    @Mandrake

What do you think the odds are that a hacked BIOS allowing overclocking of the 720 and 820 will appear? I'm very disappointed that even a measly 5% is not available.... :(

Anything is possible. The right people just need to be motivated. Asus twin turbo program can adjust the bclk frequency but I believe it works like Intel's XTU program where it needs support of the bios.
