    You are getting the proper 06 score, just check out the 1st page of this thread, a guy posted his stock runs in 06, the3vilGenius, currently in the top 5. Update the video card driver to 10.3 and use AMD GPU Tool for overclocking the cards. I am not quite sure about overclocking the cpu, i don't think it is possible, try evga e-leet or setFSB. And try cooling the system as much as you can.

    Thanks, skipping among the multiple pages I missed that they were there. Sounds like it's right on the money then :)

    Mine was dropping down around that range for a time, I think that it was a combination of virus software, wireless activity, Ethernet activity and some other stuff. Disabling all that and running a clean msconfig boot seems to give the best results.

    Any application running during 3dmark06 will decrease the score. Try reinstalling windows, and just installing 3dmark06 and the graphics driver and the motherboard, that should give you about 300 more marks. Or do what i did, installed windows again, on the second hard drive and kept the original.

    I noticed I got about that on a run where I left on D3DOverrider (used to for BF2:BC), my score was like 14600, so I am pretty sure that at least in my case that would drop my score to that range.

    @Shadowist: you might want to see if this is running, it installs with Rivatuner and you might have it set to load automatically but hidden in your system tray. Hope this helps!

    Does anyone know if i can overvolt the 4870s by flashing them and then overclock using the AMD GPU Tool. If it is possible how do i do that? Will it improve my score in my sig?

    Yes it possible using the Radeon Bios Editor. There's instructions on that page on how to use it but if you try it you'll see there is a simple wizard that will help you configure your settings.

    Should be able to as long as you keep a copy of your stock GPU VBIOS. Just reflash the old VBIOS.

    You need to get over 14k GPU to get real exciting :)

    For some reason only 1 person has done that on the R2 so far but me and Mandrake both did it in the R1

    Oh it counts, but the GPU performance is what more people seem to scrutinize (and is a direct comparison from R1 to R2)

    Just checked out the rankings, how am I even still in the top 5 with an R1?!?!

    Come on guys, more of you R2 owners need to get benching haha

    And Mandrake, how the heck did you get your GPUs so high to get that GPU score in your high R1 vantage run?! I tried alot and only managed the score I got posted :(

    Those scores are awesome! :)

    One a side note, your CPU score in 06 seems WAY to low. If you get that where it should be you are set - edit here, nvm, I thought the R2 was just getting higher cpu scores

    Are you undergoing any special cooling on the GPUs? What voltage are you pushing? I had a lot of trouble getting my GPUs stable at just 670 :(

    Perhaps I will try flashing the VBIOS from the R2 onto my R1 cards (different versions on hopefully the same cards)

    I would also suggest getting a different program to get you a better reading on your CPU speed. Under heavy load during the test I can almost guaranty based on your score that your CPU is getting around 2.5Ghz on all four cores. 3.7Ghz isn't being achieved during the test.

    Tried flashing on the R2 vbios. Had to force flash due to the different checksums of course. With the R2 vbios I lost my crossfire option though - even with a fresh install of the driver. As soon as flashing back to the R1 vbios crossfire was back. So I guess that is that...

    @Scook9
    I did not do any extra cooling. I had a crappy old fan that no one around the house uses anymore, ripped that thing apart and placed one of them under the first gpu directly and the other under the second gpu. And the air flows directly into the GPUs. As for the gpu voltage, i used mandrake's guide for the R1 using atiflash @ 1.150 volts.
    @Mandrake
    I dont think anyone ever got higher than that on the R2 because of the throttling issue, previously mentioned by you or rengsey. Take a look at the Rengsey's score he had it at 27 multipliers and it was way down in 15K. It is practically impossible, but i will try. But it seems the optimal overclock for the cpu should be with the 5% bios boost, it gives the best scores, checkout joker's score. Besides that, i was not using 27 multipliers with that run.

    What is unclewebb's throttlestop? I know what throttlestop is.

    That was colder than any fridge will ever be.....lol - deep winter in Wyoming (around 0 f)

    And the only bad thing was the ssd, the laptop was fine. But yes, gave me a scare. In a fridge the air is dehumidified so only problem will be when you take it back out of the fridge. No matter what I try I cannot get 675 core to stick on my 4870s :(

Booted into the second one and got a screenshot and pasted it into the image. I think the OS is no more, going to try your way rengsey first before it's REFORMATTING TIME!!
