Do i have to have an account on ORB. I found a way to save the files, so that is out of the way. I did not buy the serial. I got it from a friend.

if you friend has tied the serial to his acc on orb then you are SOL there

just buy your own SN....it is cheap and worth it if you are going to be benching alot

There could be a thermal restriction that might make the 4870s better at benching when dealing with crossfire. We'll have to wait to find out.

Is the restriction on the 4870s or the 5870s? anyways that was the latest, other than 21255 on 06 which i don't see a point in posting. I'll see if i can get the cards at higher clocks tomorrow, need to sleep.

it was not that big of a difference seeing as it was 5%+ e-leet @ 27 multipliers + vcore @ 150mv+ GPU OC. and it was in the fridge. if i add any more multipliers 06 crashes. I'm starting to wonder what rengsey did to his system? Liquid nitrogen, maybe? :p
I will try tweaking the system tomorrow for both 06 and vantage

TheCodeBreaker, can you try out a Vantage run with hwmonitor open. It would be interesting to see how high it gets when it's in the refrigerator.

Great job with the benching! +rep

The Vcore is at it's maximum in the bios.

I'll do that soon. Just let me hit the magic number.

BTW, the last time i ran vantage last night i decided to max out the cpu, 5% bios+ 27 multipliers and it gave me something around 15K for the cpu.

Single went up to 9190. The cpu does not go above 16.9K LINK:- http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/7264/single91.png

You might want to check out the clocks  and tell me if you want me to go even further. ;)

BTW disabling crossfire with those clocks gave me no flickering at all. I think that is a power issue right?

Looks like it. The CPU/GPU is drawing so much power that it gets the flickering to lack of power.

EDIT: Man, at what point do your display drivers fail?? I must have had a set of wussy 4870s. Couldn't get them over 650 for the life of me.

So how far do the 4870s OC? currently running single @ 710/1155. checking if its stable.
Using crossfire the maximum was at 680/1145. With a single card it was at 700/1145

CodeBreaker, you need to signup for this site. HWbot Worldwide Overclocking League Then start Submitting some benchmarks since you have a great OCing system. Also might want to get other benching programs like 3DMark05. Check it out.

I just submitted the score it says 544th global!? and the other one does not show. score pending.

That's why I never really liked hwbot because laptops and desktops are not separate. I think you can refine the search for just mobile cards to get a true reading. Scook and Johnksss know more about that site.

The most stable clocks for me was by flashing the cards. Using AMD GPU Tool, the max it gave me was 645/1110. IMO i think that Ati cards oc better by flashing and Nvidia oc better using software. But i will try that later, took my system out of the fridge, letting it rest for an hour or two. before i starting benching.

I am going to try and fiddle around with HWBOT to find a way to see only laptop scores.

    GPU Score: 13292

Rengsey, im about to purchase Vantage, do they ship the serial? or can i get it online right after purchasing?

    it should be online.

Man :( if you post to HWBot there went 2 of my gold medals :( lol

you can only filter it to show the scores for an individual cpu or gpu, otherwise you will see global scores and can only filter by 1 gpu, 2 gpu, 3 gpu etc but will still mix desktop and laptop stuff. Me and John have been trying to get them to segregate off the laptop stuff since only 2 points for the top of a category really blows when the desktop top score is like 150 points haha

I'm a tad confused, if you have a 920xm and Crossfire 4870's your score should be like 17,500+ for 3dmark06 out of the box... with just an 820qm with Crossfire 4870's I'm getting 15,000+ reliably. Are you in Stealth mode possibly?

In validity after submitting it said:
"Please note that this result has been produced using display drivers which have not been validated or approved by Futuremark and will not be visible on default result search on the ORB or on the Hall of Fame. "
Does this mean i have to start benching again??

    @DocSteel
why not bench your system, i don't i have seen an overclocked 4870 with the 820 processor in Vantage. I think the scores might be equal or better. You guys have more power given to the 4870s.

I am not going to bench Vantage for a long time, pretty much fed up with it. However 06 is what im going to run. Rengsey, what settings did you use? The program (not the OS) keeps on crashing if im on 28 multipliers with 5% and vcore is at 150Mv.

you can lower your gpu clocks for 06, will be more stable and give more juice for the cpu (which moves the score alot more)
