    Got 21,275 with 2%+ 28 multipliers+ Vcore@ 150Mv

LOL, It's called experience ;) that or a whole lot of luck :p

I told you guys what i did. I had an old fan around the house that no one used. Ripped that thing a apart, and placed one of its fans under the first gpu and the other under the second gpu. The voltage is set @ 1.15 and the fan+ the m17x are both in the fridge + the two fans under each gpu vent.

You cannot say that the flickering made your gpus less stable, just lowered the frame rates and scores

LOL, i know you guys are alot better than me and that you can do better with this system. I know that some graphic cards/processors OC better than others.
The whole experience thing was a joke, the only other system i ever overclocked was a desktops graphic card (FAIL) and my ASUS EEE 701.

Nice, keep doing what your doing. be sure to do a few runs at each setting. With the margin of error, you might end up with a higher score.

Scook, you need to pick up an R2 with 5870's so we can have a big show down. :D

Trust me, I would love to! Unfortunately that is nowhere near a viable option for me given me financial and employment status. Even getting what I have now could easily be considered irresponsible as I also have a very capable HTPC and Desktop lol

I will be holding on to this M17x for a while - now that I got most of the benching out of my system it will easily meet my needs for some time (have only been playing Diablo 2 lately ffs lol)

I can barely do a complete run because the program keeps on crashing. I have not had any success with 4% oc + 28 multipliers. 3dmark06 gives an error and i have to start it all over again, it usaully happens on the cpu test.
The only difference i can see between my system and Rengsey is the amount of RAM and the RGB LED. I'm guessing the RGB uses more watts and thats why i could get higher clocks. But why is the cpu so low?

Disabled one of the cards, and it ran smooth, power issue? Going to lower the cards clock speed and see what happens.
Update: Still crashes at 656/1121. probably going to lower it more tomorrow, this is enough for today.

For 06 give preference to the CPU over the GPUs. For Vantage GPUs over CPU.

Some tips to help with power, disable ALL AlienFX leds, turn brightness all the way down. Turn off/remove the bluetooth and wireless. Disable NIC. Run one hard drive instead of two. Maybe use one stick of ram instead of two.

All those will help you reduce the power usage of your system and free up watts for the things that matter ;)

Thanks for the help scook, I tried out about everything listed except for the hard disk and ram(might try it out later). I still Can't get it to 5% + 28 multipliers. I downclocked the cards to 655/1120 exactly like rengsey, but 06 keeps on crashing. Reformatted the system today, because the OS crashed, im guessing those appcrashes piled up. Can it be the RAM?
I also tried decreasing the voltage to the cards, CRASH.

    CodeBreaker,

go 4% , stockk vcore , and change multi to 28. GPU oc can stay the same. If it runs fine without crashing, up the multi to 29.

Not a bad idea to run memtest on each stick of ram individually to make sure they are ok. But it sounds like your cpu just will not OC as far as Rengsey's was

Looks like you got the golden GPUs but an average CPU

LOOL... I will second that! Although i have noticed that if you increase the vcore the cpu score in 06 drops. I'll put that in my sig too if i don't hit the 22K. Trying to hit those numbers for Rengsey, I know how bad he wanted to get to it.

I will do everything scook and rengsey said tomorrow, and if it doesn't go any higher, thats about it for now.

Could someone plz tell me which VGA driver is the best for benchmarking for now? And the best tool for increasing Nvidia GPU clocks? Im using 260 in SLI btw.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Thank you for quick reply :) I'm using the NST 6.06, but i couldn't get over 700/1100/1500. I'll give 6.02 a try :D

Ive also been trying 186.82, 197.01 and 197.31 driver. Which 1 is the best for OCing and benchmarking, or is there a better driver for those stuff?

That would be my last question :) (for today lol)

looks like I will not be able to hit 22K, 21.5K was my max, and im happy with that, for now ;) I might try increasing GPU clocks in 3dMark06. I'm currently benching 3dmark01, and im having a hard time trying to beat the number one spot in HWBOT. She has a X9100 pulling 50K, im getting 46K with OCing. Mandrake do you think you can edit the bios TDP and TDC limit like the G73 Bios.

The way the older benches are coded, you need a higher clocked dual core, is how katiephil did all those, using an OC'd T9900 or x9100. You know they had a qx9300 based off their 06 and vantage and cpu benches.

You can disable cores on my qx9300 to mimic that, but not sure how it would work on the nehalem chips with hyperthreading

BTW Mandrake, i hope you noticed that the PSU that dell supply is no longer a 240 watt, its now a 150 watt.

    Has anyone experienced this
    width='480' height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1v-kMAl5iKI&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1v-kMAl5iKI&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='480' height="385"></embed></object>
I have been experiencing it for quite a while. It usaully happens on every second boot and/ changing the settings in the bios, which technically is a second boot.

EDIT****NVM the whole thing was electricity in the board, i had to do a 2min powerdrain and all is good now**

They are probably sending a 150 watt if ordered with a single 4870 and non extreme cpu

either of those options (extreme cpu or dual 4870s) should get you a 240 watt.

It was 3dmark01 that was practically impossible, and i never tried again. Sorry about that scook :p . I can remove them if you want, or better yet, give you the score and improve your points, or maybe i should join your team :p overthinking it a bit but hmm  . Your computer isn't recognizing some hardware. I don't know which one but my M15x had the 1st and 3rd light (I think) blinking and AW tech told me the computer wasn't recognizing my ram sticks.

It would and hopefully that is the problem but in my case, my M15x did have the ram installed properly and yet still didn't recognize it. That's why I returned it for full refund and bought M17x. Hopefully yours isn't like mine!

**IMO you should give AW tech a call and ask what that blinking code means just to be safe**

Damn, wasn't the ram, i tried each stick seperately, no go. I think i might have done something wrong while closing up the sytem, from the last time i opened it, by the way, the on/off switch board that also has the play/mute/eject, is scratched from behind when i openend my system , im hoping that isn't it.

It could be the touch panel. That is the most susceptible to damage when opening up and closing the laptop.

I have also had the blinking light after a really unstable OC but I do have a different BIOS than you do (R1 vs R2)

Nice Run! What did you overclock? just the gpu + 5%? Can you push the GPU even further, like 660/1125. I was just wondering if you can give me a stock run with only the 5% boost from the bios and no gpu overclocking. I just want to compare most of the scores.
    thanks,

I know this might sound crazy, but can you copy the A01 bios from your system , when you get it?
