The only driver working for me is the Dell default driver. I remember when I had my last system I mob modded the desktop 9.12 drivers and that got me the best performance. For whatever reason that doesn't work anymore.

I haven't done any benching yet with the system. Need time to get it all sorted out.

have you tried using the 10.3, they do not need to be mob modded. I have not noticed Drivers make much difference, probably 200 marks in 06.

Yes, 10.3 and 10.4. I can manually update the driver to that version but CCC never works with it.

    Not yet.

A single 5870 can play games with no issues and you can get a second one down the road. That will prevent you from having to sell both your 4870s to get dual 5870s.

I would get the 5870, for gaming performance as i have not seen many games that utilize both cards.

CodeBreaker, what drivers were you using for you top vantage run?

I think with school wrapping up I may be back into some benching since I will be reformatting as well soon and enjoying some WORKING drivers

yup, 10.3 after a clean install of windows, i have not tried anything higher, up until yesterday when i installed the Dell 5870 driver( Which i think is 10.4 or 10.5 ). The only other thing i install is the Alienware command center, just for a few tweaks.

Nice score on the cpu Mandrake! To answer s0ysauce45's question he probably flashed the vbios with higher volts and those clocks and increased the rest in windows.

    Yeah that's what I did.

Going to be the last for me for a while. I got my Asus back up and operational and I'm going to send the M17x back. I'll try to raise that single GPU score later.

Did you make sure the HDD controller was in ATA mode? XP does not have native AHCI support like vista and 7 do. You have to first change it in the BIOS or slipstream the driver

Im going to try and find a 64bit key because 32bit is just not worth the trouble. I am thinking about removing the main hard drive and putting the second hdd in its place so that i can still use windows 7 later, The last time i did that, i kept on getting BSODs so im going to try it out tomorrow and ill see what happens.

Mandrake, what kind of memory do you have in your m17x? 1066 or Kingston HyperX, those are proabaly the most stable whilst overclocking the BCLK right?

It might be a poor 64bit os but all i care about is utilizing the 4gigs of RAM. I installed a 32bit windows 7 vlited that only used 2300Mb of the 4gigs

Then something else is wrong because the 32bit limitation is still 4GB. Plus you don't need all 4GB. Look back at my screen-shot and look how much memory I was using.
