what the ? I started the first Alienware guild! lol. Anyhow.. seems I have to jump on the bandwagon. I disbanned the GOOD SIDE and hae submitted application to join the dark side under alias StarWarsRival.

 

Best of luck guys. I find it really awesome that you guys are putting something together like this. I guess this means that playing bad can't be blamed on the computer this time

 

can anybody tell me how big the beta download is? im still downloading( im at English Assets 1) and i really want to play, just curious where the finish line is.

 

I'm hearing anywhere from 19.9-21 GB total.

 

After about 22 GB there was another 4GB 'update'. Not sure if additional sdd space or it overwrote some.

Pimsley: There is always a good excuse when we play badly but the obvious choice is now eliminated with our Alienware. My next excuse is something to do with the amd drivers...

Thanks for the aproval. On the roster now. We should start some threads in other Alienware forums to get others on board. And start targeting the Desktop crowd as well.

Well we are getting up there with members. Think 10 now. Ive been trying to recruit as well. I see 4 of us (including myself) are Troopers. We might want to Diversify the classes for best TEAM play.

 

I think that trooper is the default setting because when I formed the guild it put me as a trooper. I changed it shortly afterwards to a Jedi.

 

I just sent my application. I was also beta testing this weekend.How were the other testers frame rates?

 

Well radeon pro did not let me use my second GFX card but with a single 6970 and I was getting 60-70 FPS constantly. By the way the ingame fps meter is ctrl + shift + f

 

On highest gpu settings 45 low, avg in high 50,s.

I was a bit disappointed but it may be due to my hatred of learning new game commands etc.

Sith inquisitor was my favorite.

ONI your specs list 6990 but you mention 6970, FYI.

Pre order ers can start 5 days before official start!

 

since we played in the beta access last weekend do we automatically get access to this weekend too?

 

Don't think it's automatic. Both ONI, me and one son got new invitation for " another weekend" but it did not yet say which.

idk if ill be getting a second one, we shall see what the seller wants to do. Now that i have accidental damage warranty, I might just wait to see if an R4 comes out and get a replacement system becomes of some cosmetic damage that occurred yesterday. and I never got an invite. Oh well, back to skyrim for me

You basically sign up for a free website and they supply a new beta code for you.

Anybody who was invited to a previous beta or had signed up as a potential tester prior to 11/11/11 should already have/be getting soon an invite to the next weekend beta. Lots of people who didn't but who had Bioware forum accounts for other games (Dragon Age, Mass Effect) are reporting they're getting invites too.

The beta will be next weekend (25-27 November). If this is your first kick at the can, you should be getting an email with a link to the launcher in the next week or so; if you already had the client installed from the last beta weekend, you'll just need to patch to the latest build.

 

Are all beta testers people who have already Pre-Ordered ?

You do not need to have pre ordered to get a beta invite.

Two out of the three of us got a second invite oddly, we all per purchased and registered on the swtor website at the same time.

We will each try to log on to the beta at 5cst Friday and see.

You might wait for a 7000 series amd gpu tony.

Nope. More aren't people who pre-ordered than are, in fact. Just got my - I think it's now third or fourth - beta invite today, which seems to have gone out to anybody who pre-ordered (check your spam folder), this time with two keys.

 

Anyone get the BETA test this weekend ? Looks like im going to have to wait till the release.

 

I tested on Nov 11, and will be testing again on the 25-27. Game really impressed me. Its definitely hard on a system. My SLI rig was pulling about 50fps at 1920x1200 with everything cranked up. In doors, sometimes as low as 35.

Ill definitely be looking for an Empire guild. Look forward to hooking up with you guys at launch. Im preordering, so hope to see you all on about 12/15.

Sith Inquisitor is amazing...but the bounty hunter low level content was nuts. The story mechanics in the game really set it apart.

 

I was very impressed too and I have hated 90% of the mmo's out there!

As far as the game being hard on a system I could only get one of my 6970's to work Crossfire would not work even with radeon pro but I was getting 60-70 FPS 90% of the time with the occasional 40 fps drop.

So I am sure once drivers get optimized the game will run on any m18x like a champ.

 

Could not play or log in this weekend. Confusing on which weekend I have been re-invited to play?

I had some trouble logging on as mentioned. I did get into the Star Wars: The Old Republic website but it then asked me to set up three security questions. I did it smoothly but tried to get back into the swtor game launcher, thinking I was a-ok from the last invite, but it said log in trouble.

Did not have more time to explore yet...

 

ok nice to see that the game is good, because to be honest what i've seen has not been impressive at all.... please tell me that the videos/screen shots don't do the game justice.

 

The videos do not even come close. The game is smooth, well paced, and engaging. The quests really feel like the movies, in that each thing you do leads you into the next, as opposed to "kill 6 wolves for cloth gloves, young mr paladin".

Crossfire was not enable on the big weekend, but I still pulled 60-90 fps most of the time, with occasional drops to the 35-45 range.

 

I got a beta invite but because I'm such a cheapskate when it comes to Pay 2 Play(especially at 15.00USD a month), I've decided to hold off until this game becomes Free to Play. I maybe waiting a long long long time

 

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but as we are a very GPU/benching centric group, I thought I'd share this tidbit:

I played the previous weekend beta but with the new one coming up this weekend, I uninstalled it and downloaded the new beta client. Tried running the setup program but it would just unzip everything into my TEMP directory and then quit. Troubleshot the crap out of it, searched the TOR forums, etc. but nothing. Then I read about FRAPS causing issues with the installer. I don't have FRAPS installed, but I do run RadeonPro. Sure enough, disabling RP solved my problem.

The TLDR here is: if you run FRAPS or RadeonPro, make sure to disable them before trying to run setup, otherwise it won't work.

I will tell you what sold me in this mmo.

I made a sith character and I was told my by sith master to kill another sith's son. Apparently he pissed of my master so I was to teach him a lesson. When I found his son his mother (another sith) begged me to spare him and instead kill his father (His father always wore a mask so impersonating him would be easy).

So I haggle with her a little then I lose interest so I go to the father just because I felt like it. The father was being a to me so I killed him took his helmet and went back to the mother. At that time I see a {Flirt} option so I say hmm let me try it...... Long story short she told her son to leave the room and I told my npc to leave too but not before I used her shock collar (hey I am a sith what did you expect).

Then I slept with the mother and went back to my master and told him that I not only thought the sith a lesson but add insult to injury I slept with his wife too!


That was one small short quest out of the many that I had and don't get me started on flash points! Those RULE!!!!!!!!! I ended up doing the same one 4 times just so I can play with different outcomes of the plot.


EDIT: Right after I slept with his wife I yelled "Baby baby I just slept with that guys wife" my wife then replied "I want a divorce"......... It was so worth it!

I woke up this morning to find a Beta Tester Invite! wooohooo!

Whoever gets a beta invite come to Shadow Hand server and I will play with you.

The developers said that instead of making a 3rd KOTOR they made KOTOR 3,4 and 5 in this mmo. The quest chat reminds me of Mass effect conversations and I love the options up to now.

Definitely. I hope they did not wipe my character because I was close to getting my spaceship.

 

ill have to start from scratch anyway, I was on the ajunta pall server oh well, guess ill just get good at leveling
