Alienware M18x - Prepare to deploy Star Wars TOR

I just pay as I go so when I get bored, I can just drop the game for a bit. Then I'll usually pick it back up when something new comes out ingame

Anyone elser beta testing ? I cant get the patch to install. Keep getting error. I did the repair, and the restart and redownload and reinstall several times.

How about I give u some credentials.. and test it out for me ? I cant seem to install teh patch.

 

gotta wait for my laptop to be delivered later tonight how big is the patch?

 

The patch is very very small. Mine patched fine but for some reason I don't seem to have access for this beta.

The latest NVIDIA drivers crash the launcher immediately. You will have to go back to the WHQL ones to get it working. I didn't find out until i had waited in queue for 15 minutes ;p

On a side note - the only people who were re-invited were those who played on long term play test servers (I was on Darth Malak)

 

Well I cant even get to queue. I use driver version: 8.17.12.8562.

My issues is it downloads the patch then it errors durring installation. I cant get it to install.

 

got mine to install, but then we had a power outage last night, and then they took the servers down for maintenance. I'm gonna test it here in a few and see what happens

im running the new nvidia 290 drivers.

 

Let me know how it turns out. I deleted the main.version file. And currently re-downloading. Took me awhile.. because believe it or not.. we had a power outage as well. LOL. I went out to drop off a computer at a clients and I was locked into my own aparment complex. Every gate was closed and unable to open... lol.

 

LOL that had to be fun well it doesn't look like I have access guess ill go play something else.

 

bummer you dont have access I got it to work! deleting that file and reinstalling fixed it.

yup looks like its gonna be a blast just gotta narrow down what class im gonna start as.

 

I got an Assassin up to 29 and a Bounty Hunter Mercenary up to 17.
Enjoyed the Assassin more, but mostly because of stealth.

The only class that is universally regarded as 'meh' is the juggernaut/sentinel atm. The rest are all pretty fun in their own way.

 

Actually out of all the classes that I took to 10+ I enjoyed the Juggy the most!

Both as a job type and as a plot. The Jedi warrior story was meh but I only got him to lvl 9 so I cant really judge.

 

I'm thinking of playing as either the bounty hunter or the sith warrior first. I just can't make up my mind

Well I just finnished beta. They had a 'Dance Party' /dance lol. Cant wait for the early release.

bigtony.. good choice. I played some of the story line. And I liked the weapons

 

yea i played every single sith character minus the inquisitor and the bounty hunter looked like my kind of guy. I'll prob end up with one of each character though down the road just for flexibility

 

I will start with the Guild we made but I really want to play a Sith so I encourage anybody form here to make an Alienware Guild on the Evil side.

I will post the server that our main guild ends up on so that we can create the other guild on the same server.

then we can rule the galaxy muhahaha, I'd create the guild, but I don't have the game preordered yet

 

I started a voting thread but people cheated! We had 10 members in the guilf but we got over 20 votes lol!

So then I asked somebody to help me make a second guild this way we have a guild for each side on the same server. Nobody stepped up.....


I plan on making a second Alienware guild on the Sith side and every member from either side will be invited on both and given full rights.

The premise is that if you own an AW machine you get full rights to the guild if you don't own one but your a friend of somebody in the guild etc then you can join but you won't get full rights to the guild.


I would love it if somebody stepped up and made a second Alienware guild on the same server where the other one is.

I will post here the server name and if nobody steps up then I will make the second guild too.

Also I have made the guilds website and forum for the guild but I do feel like this is our parent forum since we all have been loyal to this site for a long time.

 

Well im apart of an Alienware guild already. Dont see the need for 2.. but your the pro here. Im a MMO newb.

 

Just ordered a M17x a few days ago. And yes it was pretty much to play TOR on max settings, but with such a killer machine I will prob pick up some other great games just to get the full gaming laptop experience.
This is my first real laptop machine...I have been a desktop slave the past 10yrs of gaming. BTW is it me or is the market trying to phase out desktops with the laptop priceing and ect?

I tried to go and create the darkside guild, but the guilds are frozen until the game launches. Our best bet is to probably call customer support, explain the situation, and see if they will let us swap factions.

 

I will try and do that but worse case scenario I will just save the 7000 credits and form another guild.

I got 1k credits relatively easy so if we get 7 people working towards it we can get that amount within an hour tops.

Memory serves me unwell at times but I thought MatrixHacker made a second guild, in fact I recall seeing a second Alienware guild when I searched on the SWTOR website.

What happened to the guild Matrix already set up (with no members)?

I am happy to "step up" for what is needed but don't want to set me/you up to fail as limited time is my issue.

So to be clear, our guild is locked in as the Jedi/Light side?

 

It's set to the "Good side" (Republic) but keep in mind you can be a Jedi and be evil or you can be a Sith and be good. So the only difference is the classes available.

 

I did create a Republic Guild for alienware. I disbanned it when I saw that Oni had the majority of people going over to the dark side. So i joined that guild and let the other one go.

 

i'll transfer it to you as soon as I get 1k. Don't know how long its gonna take for me to get that much though

 

Well if you don't buy anything you can get about 3-4k by lvl 10. At least that's what I got on my characters but I don't expect anybody not to buy anything hence 1k donation would be feasible.

Yeah I left my pc open while I went to work.

 

Just pre-ordered the game Will be there at early load. Had a question.. are we going to deploy togther ? and as a MMO newb (im a fPS player) will be working together or running solo ?

 

Glad my wife and I were in the final beta weekend, re-downloading 50GB would have been supremely annoying.

 

I redownloaded just to be on the safe side and it's only 18.4 GB. Still huge, but what do you expect? Look at your WoW directory...that's over 25 GB.

And this is why I'm moving to a new secondary drive on my laptop
