The thing about MMO's is that you can do both! Most people like grouping together but other like to solo and in this game you can do both. Usually the first 10 lvls of an mmo are more beneficial to solo but playing the beta there are allot of secondary quests that are group only!
So I plan on grouping from the get go but not everybody will be doing that.

Your more than welcome to pair up with me. What class will you be playing? Do you want to be a healer? Tank? DPS? -
bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
ill prob be a trooper at first since we are on the republic side for now, but then once we switch ill get my bounty hunter setup
-
FYI - Tom's Hardware posted this TOR benchmark article a few days ago: Star Wars: The Old Republic: PC Performance, Benchmarked : The Old Republic: A Little Backstory
Overall, it looks like pretty much any rig in the M18x family can EASILY play it at the high quality settings (no surprise here). -

by the way ive been posting on the guild forum. Hope we get that going as well.
-
I opened that forum for us and depending on how many people use it I will continue paying for the advanced features but if it is not used much ill just downgrade it to the free version.
As for what to play ultimately you want something that feels a good fit for you. Whats amazing about this game is that any class can sorta fill any role as long as you choose the right path for them.
So my first tip would be find a class that fits your "story". Check out the videos on swtor.com they explain the lore behind each class allot better than I could. Once you find what class you want then we can see how it fits as a role.
I will be the tank so we need a healer. Finding a DPS (damage dealers) will be easy but ultimately its your choice. -

As for the forums i can host a website and forums with all the features we need. If you want to keep what we have then for sure keep up the upgrades. I think at this point we should have everyone moving these topics over to the forum instead of posting here. IMO. -
PS: You can be on the dark side as a republic character too! Imagine a Good Sith or an EVIL Jedi!
EDIT: As far as the website we can make our own once were settled in. For now lets just focus on playing the game! -

"Early Game Access* will begin on December 13th at 7:00AM EST, 2011 and ends on December 19th, 2011 at 10:01PM EST. During this time, we will be emailing invitations to join Early Game Access based on the order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code. Pre-load the game client now, so you're ready to play when your Early Game Access invitation arrives. Note that download time can vary and may take awhile.

Ok I got the email just now from SWTOR and our assigned server is "Naddist Rebels"
So everybody make sure you make your characters on that server.
I want to add this info to our main forum but I am at work and my proxy blocks that site. Then again 99% of the sites are blocked from work
PS: Can the server info be updated on the first post?
Thank you. -

I have not spent much time on the guild website to see it but should we each PM Oni our email addresses so he can "bulk" email the guild these updates as well or instead of here?
I guess the guild can email each other from within once its live.?.
How will we best communicate? No/little MMO experience here. -
Thank you for your kind words. Let me kick officially kick off the start of SWTOR! I just got this email:
"The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here. Early Game Access* has started, and you can now begin your adventure. To start playing, click on the button below and follow the steps outlined on the page. Welcome to your Star Wars saga." -

Started today with my invite on our guild server. Choose sixth inquisitor and got to level 5.
What's next and how do we work together ONI? -
If you make a character on the republic you will get an invite the second you get in the game and that's the guild.
Once I have the credits for the other guild I will jump on my bounty hunter and make a guild there too. -
Thanks for all of your work coordinating stuff Oni. -
Out of curiosity how many of us here have early access?
I know Xen, Dr and myself do but how many others? -
Has anyone been able to get there M18X macro keys to work in TOR? I notice when I have TOR up I cannot use the macro keys or change volume etc.
-
Has anyone messed with the clientsettings.ini file? I don't think I'm quite getting as good performance as I should. I'm relatively new to AMD cards and I seem to hover around 40-60 fps in most areas with everything maxed in game, but I can't help feeling that there should be *more*.
-
-
volume works just fine. As far as the macro keys I never use them so I can't answer that.
-
I have all the settings maxed within the game but I have not messed with any SWTOR files. I know you can force AA from the ini file but I have not touched that. -
Okay.
Right now I run the game in fullscreen windowed mode. I cannot use my volume keys or any macro keys when ingame. I have to press alt+tab and select another window for the volume to work.
I have set specific keybinds in the alienware software for the macro keys and have programmed it ingame but again, when the game is up the macro keys are not recognized.
Any ideas? -

i cant get the macro to work either!sucks!! i really need all that 5 macro to own in PVP
I didnt mess with the clietsetting, just enable force AA 8X with Nvidia Inspector, it became a beautiful game in one click! -
Well if you make a character on our server your more then welcome to join the guild as an officer. -
-
I'm using the new Dell Catalyst driver. I'm thinking I need to find out what I've done wrong. -
To get FPS higher than 60 you need to remove the vertical sync option.
Also make sure your running on full screen because Crossfire will not work otherwise. -
I'm running fullscreen for sure, but I'm wondering if I left the vertical sync option on.
I tried enabling AA through RadeonPro and since I'm such a rookie, I think I've done something wrong using it. I'll have to launch it without a profile and see what happens.
Thanks for the replies. -

My volume buttons are also not working while in game on my M17x R-3. Anyone else having this issue at all? Or know of a fix?
-

I was able to get my macro keys working by launching the alienware command center as admin and running TOR in windowed full screen mode. No luck with volume keys yet.
