I suppose it's time I finally posted here; I've been lurking a few weeks now.
I ordered on 5.20, the phone message changed to "currently preparing your order to be shipped" yesterday afternoon. According to the rep I spoke with, that means everything's being tested prior to packaging?
Specs are: Space Black, 2920XM OC'd, Win 7 Ultimate, 16GB 1600MHz, Dual 460Ms, 750GB 7200RPM, Ultimate-N 6300, Blu-ray reader, 5.1 with SoundBlaster. The EDD has been 6.13 since I ordered it, with a 6.8 ship date.
If anyone's curious as to how it runs, I'm willing to run a stock benchmark with the free versions of the three 3DMarks (or if anyone has another free suggestion; I haven't really benched my computers before), as I haven't seen many (if any) dual 460Ms being ordered with everything else maxed/almost maxed. I'll also be running Crysis, Crysis 2 and Metro 2033, so yeah. -

Super weird.
My status was in production.. then suddenly today, the order # disappeared and isn't in the system anymore. This is through AAFES. Anyone have this happen before? -

I called the phone number to check my order status and it said my order was shipped on April 21th, 2000. What's wrong with my order number? -

My replacement order has disappeared too. Website has no trace of it and calling the status line says "hmm I couldn't find that order number". Hope it's some upgrade glitch. Dell really needs to get their act together.

The website and the order status phone number that the main phone gives (1.800.433.9014) are both working for me (still saying 6.8 and 6.13), though 1.800.254.3692 can't find it.

Well now my replacement order shows as cancelled,
6 days into production and canceled..the rep better have some free upgrades ready for me.

my replacement order (AAFES) disappeared from the system today too. (both phones, order status page)
However, if I click through the order status link from the AAFES site, I can still see the order in the list of multiple orders (my delivered, DOA m18x shows there as well as the replacement order) - if I click it it comes up as invalid. So it's still partially there, at least -
Probably wont be long till you see it as cancelled. I think they finished upgrading their systems and probably reassigned our replacements new order numbers. Least I'm hoping that's the case cuz I'll be PO'd if I just wasted a week waiting on a replacement. -
I hope all is resolved by tomorrow so I can check my order status.

when i was re-ordering a 2nd time, (i reordered 4 times
) it got cancelled. i called and he said, "oh yea, its just a system glitch. ill replace the order again. problem for you".he said this very casually as if it happens all the time. im thinking.. ok.... lol.

My order is back on the order status as In Production, didn't end up with a cancel, might want to check into that Joker

and you won't be able to see it until you contact customer care and ask them to associate the service tag with your order.

1 week has passed since I placed the order... it's in production and I hope I can get it on time

I just tried checking my order status on the phone, but the redirect to key in the order number the second time went to dead silence instead (and is still doing so), so I called my rep (who wasn't there, so it transferred me to another), and was told that my order is in transit to the distribution site, and that I should have a FedEx tracking number by sometime Friday.

Apparently, I'll get my laptop on the worst case scenario date, which is 6/9. woooo, one more week to go.

Folks I am really glad I found this site and wanted to see if I can get some feedback....I am going to order an M18x tomorrow or Friday and I wanted to know how to get the best price possible...is it best to call Dell reps directly etc. I can get a discount via my work and I can also get one as a student (part time with an .edu email ) but I wondered what seems to work best for everyone to get the best bang for the buck...so far via the online site I am coming in around 4k for the config I want so any extra 1-2 percent can help save money.

My replacement order has shipped! Really impressed on the turnaround on that, I guess the Dell corporate escalations rep I talked with re: my BBB complaint wasn't fooling when he said he would expedite the replacement order and change to NBD ship. To recap:
Original order May 3 through AAFES
Shipped May 19 Fedex Ground (AAFES allows choice of 7 day shipping only)
Received may 20 - DOA
Attempted warranty service several times daily may 20 -> 24, told to call back in 3 hrs each time, filed BBB complaint
Contacted re: BBB complaint May 26, had already placed replacement order earlier that day with another rep, corporate escalations rep that called re: BBB complaint cancelled that order and placed new one expedited w/NBD ship (also changed 2 components per my request, dropping factory O/C and 460m sli -> 6970m cf)
Order shipped June 1 w/eta June 2
So, 6 day turnaround time on that replacement order not counting shipping time. Not badAlso, my replacement machine is managing to beat my EDD of the original order which was 6/3.

BAM. JUST got a tracking number! And the estimated delivery date is… today?
Edit: apparently that's judging by when the tracking number was made. Apparently I'll have it by Monday. -
Finally, got it delivered. But can't lick it until getting off from work
I hate stupid Dell & Fedex. Called Fedex yesterday to set up an in location pick up. They said I can't do that after the 1st attempt, or Dell has to call them to set it up. So I called Dell and asked them to call Fedex. After like 10 mins waiting while they were talking to Fedex, they did appologize because Fedex said they can't do that (, so why did they ask me to call Dell?). Then the freaking Dell rep. told me to call Fedex back in the morning before my stuff gets on the truck for delivery. Then I calked Fedex back in the morning and started calling around again. Finally, the answer was :" nobody can set it up now because my stuff has left for delivery".
Man, I can believe the way people running business nowadays. It took me a whole day for nothing. Fortunately, Its now in my room. God damnit. -

my m18x is In Production since 5.27, and the money was deducted from my account ( or just put on hold).. as of yesterday the hold was removed and the money is in my account.. but my order still displays as "in production".. is this normal?
