M18x Order Status Discussion

Has anyone here ordered their M18x (or anything else) from HiDevolution or Fortnax? Are they about equal in reputation or is one supposed to be markedly better than the other?

 

You should just cancel and reorder with the 6990 CF and the 25% discount. You'd get a better machine for almost the same price. The 460m is pretty weak comparatively.

EDIT: By cancel I mean tell them to scrap the whole thing, call back to get a new rep, reorder with 25% discount.

 

You really aren't Nhii ... there are still two options.

1) call back, tell them you will return the unit and if they make you go through the whole process you will go with another reseller (Sager or Clevo) who make comparable machines at the same or lower prices (not as flashy and neat though) ... the fear of loss of business / comission can do wonders.

2) actually return the system when you get it within the 21 days you have to return it no questions asked, get a full refund, and get a better system with cash left over for your troubles ....

Or I suppose your 3rd choice is to ask around here, some individuals are ordering 6990s to upgrade their 6970s and you could purchase their 6970s pretty cheap ... But I think option 1 or 2 is a better route ...

 

Yea Seifer is dead on ... just tell them you want to cancel the order completely and be refuneded if you get any hard time from them.

Ya its already paid for. I paid in full well im trying to call them again to cancel it. If not i guess either i'll return it but i hate waiting!! and i got a BF3 Alpha key that im dying to play.

Or else can i just buy the card separately? and install it. I just dont know where to buy the card from....

 

you can buy the card and install it, but you are much better off cancelling the order, you will then have a credit with DELL or you might have to wait for a refund.

But really, be threatening ... tell them the system is not powerful enough to play what you want (and its not powerful enough to play BF3 well at alllllll) and you will return it and go elsewhere if you have to ...

You might even throw in that you were slightly mislead thinking that it WOULD play that game ...

Be firm and you should get your way ... cancel and reorder ...at worst return and reorder, you wont be sorry for the wait once you get your system.

Alternative .... ORder another system, either pay in full or finance it ... return the system you have on order now, for a refund and either use that to pay off your financed system or put it back in the bank.

You can get a better system for cheaper ...

Still not a fan of the price you are paying, you should mention the 25% EPP discounts people are getting currently, or ... you can just be happy with the new cards ... I would push for a discounted/free upgrade if you can get it ...

Tell them something like ... the system is useless to you with the 460 in it ... but that you have maxed out your budget.... you will have to return it as is ... but if it had the 6990s in it ... it would be good.

Be firm!

My EDD has been moved back to 8/5.

 

Just checked my order status and it has been shipped

I ordered on the 18th July. It spent 6 days or so in 'work in progress' and 5 days 'in production'. I am in the UK btw

Anyone know how long it takes from the date of shipping to delivery in the UK?

My last Alienware (old m15x - bought in 2008) was assembled in Ireland - but I did order through Irish website. And so I'm quite surprised with the current route of delivery. Below is a new update from my side.... if there's is no factory in Ireland nowadays I'd assume you'll be getting your machine the same way I am.

My tracking doesn't say anything yet. I think it takes a day to show any info. It says the carrier is Walsh Western? Never heard of them which is weird because I work in the logistics industry.

Hasn't been updated since the day it shipped, no idea where it's at right now. Maybe in customs somewhere.

 

Nah. I doubt it. It's on the truck one day behind mine. These computers are all cleared through customs by the container load before they hit the border. It's called a "pars" release.

Honestly I'm still not getting my hopes up for today. I've had shipments with purolator where the driver forgot he had it on truck and never even attempted delivery. It goes back to the warehouse with a new line on the tracking page saying something like " delivery rescheduled"

 

Prolly, hopefully they update where it's at today. Most likely looking at Tues/Weds Delivery though.

 

Quick update, Just received an email from Dell telling me my laptop will be delivered on monday so make sure someone is home between 9am to 6pm. Woohoo. Thats gonna be an exciting day for my girlfriend!

Well, after years of wanting some type of gaming notebook, I'm finally getting one. Placed my order for an M18x with the %25 discount. Now I can finally give myself a sig.

 

Stuck in Calgary ... Or on a truck in Edmonton somewhere.

 

Checked a few mins ago - shipped! EDD 8/3 via FedEx ground - that was pretty quick.

 

Same with mine. Did you get NBD also? Wondering if the EDD for 8/3 is correct for NBD shipping.......
