Dell decided to replace my M17x R2 (because it has broke three times in a row and they couldn't fix it at the depot).

Here's my order, they submitted it today I guess:

I'm now waiting for that final circle to fill in with green happiness.

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! Dell 'accidentally' cancelled my order...

It's back up now with a new order number but can't see the status yet.

    Is this a regular occurrence?

Mine was ordered on the 5th. Its still listed as "In Production" with an estimated delivery date of the 20th with 7 day shipping. With just 3 business days until the 20th I'm doubting that it will be here on time...

    Nice rig!

Did not know you could still get the Intel 6300 as the killer keeps coming up. We have two M17x R3s with the 6300 cards and they work great.

What was your thinking on the raid HDD/SD hybrid? Why not just get the 500gig HD standard and add a 256SD your$elf?

Same here as well. I ordered on 9/6 (the day the new processors were available) and I am also still "in production". I'm accepting that this could be due to the new processors maybe not being immediately available, though.

I am looking an upgrade from my trusty m15x to m18x if I can make Dell Germany accept VISA Electron agg :(

Anyone from Germany ordered one recently? I was hoping to get a 10% to 15% discount, do you think I can get it (again talking about German sales reps) ?

I ordered mine with the older processor because I didn't know they were coming out. Maybe they're upgrading my processor because they ran out of the old ones? I can only dream...

I did however check on the Fedex website and they say that my shipping has been initiated (9/14) But has not been picked up...shouldn't NBD shipping mean I should already have it? Stupid...

If any Dell Rep will be able to read this, I hope you do address it.

I ordered an Alienware M18x laptop through my uncle in the US and he told me that a Dell Rep has told him that it will be delivered by the afternoon of the 16th.

Unfortunately, it did not arrive on the said date, and I was informed by my uncle that he will not be able to wait for it since he can no longer delay his flight due to previous engagements.

Dell has said that their new tentative is the 22nd.

Seriously Dell. $3000 is by no means pocket change. I would have expected that you would have been more professional and would stick to your given time.

I can't believe I wasted time with such an unprofessional company. I even gone through the lengths of having a relative order a laptop for me since it is not available in my country.

YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO JEOPARDIZE YOUR CUSTOMER'S SCHEDULE ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ARE PAYING YOU BIG SUMS OF MONEY.

Dude, I dislike big companies and Dell for dumping on use peons as much as the next guy and appreciate your need to vent.

However, they do not absolutely guarantee the delivery date of your system, hence the word ESTIMATED in their email and website order status page.

Sometimes people make mistakes, parts are on back order, or it falls off a truck. ;) A week after getting your system you will forget about how mad you are now so don't stroke and be happy in anticipation. :)

I think I spoke too soon! My M18x arrived today and I am currently posting this from it. :)

I'm pretty sure I have one of the first M18x'es with the 2760QM, so I'm going to see if I can do some benchmarking this weekend.

Dell must just not get around to keeping their order statuses up to date, my status on the website is still "in production"... so those of you still waiting, it may just show up out of the blue.

So my refurb m18x is still "In Production" and I just got my estimated arrival date changed form the 21st to the 26th :( It's a refurb so I thought it would be on a shelf in a box ready to ship. I called this morning and a rep told my it's delayed due to the hurricane...Really? Where is this thing coming from, it hasn't even shipped in the first place...Anyone else having the same issue with their refurb order? I ordered mine on the 15th.

When I ordered mine from the outlet on the labor day sale, it showed 'in production' for about 24 hrs and then it changed to 'shipped'.

The estimates on Dell's site are highly inaccurate. They showed it will be delivered by the 12th of September, but I got it on the 7th. FEDEX even correctly mentioned it will be by the 7th.

Once you get the tracking number, trust only the FEDEX estimated delivery data. Dell's website details are pants.

Just ordered my m18x. I chose 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M that only comes in SLI right? (When buying it said SLI but on my PDF confirmation it says only "1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M")

What 3dmark06 score can i expect from this running stock?

Made an order from Swedish Dell at 15th September, payed Dell the same day as i got the mail.
At monday 19th September they marked the order as "Work in Progress" with an ETA of 11th October, and ETA for bag at 27th October.
I sure hope they are faster than that, my m14x took around 1 week from the time they got the money until i had it at my desk.

How long can i except the computer to be "Work in Progress" and how long until they start building it and change it to "In production" ?

Also, if i call Dell and ask them if they got all parts for my computer in stock, will they be able to provide such info over the phone?

Was bummed this morning when I checked my order status and it was still listed as in production. Estimated delivery date was today with 7 day shipping. Not expecting to see my new system for at least another week.

Hours later I'm currently at work and just happened to check my gmail and find my shipping notification from Dell. Things are looking up!

Wanted to get a more accurate idea of when my system will come so I check the tracking number provided. FedEx shows my order as on FedEx truck out for delivery! WooHoo!

My order will actually be on time!

Just spoke to dell beacsue my order delivery date went from 29/09/2011 to 29/1/2011???

It was bad news they are waiting on 2 parts, one with an eta of the 27th and ont that doesn't even have a eta.......

I specifically told my rep i needed this system for the 1st week in october and he said yeah...fine... no problem. So needless to say i'm a little pissed off right now, am i within my rights to demand next day delivery because of these delays???

I spoke to dell again today trying to find out exactly what the holdup is, and the guy i spoke to today appeared to have no idea what the women i spoke to y/day was talking about.

Apparently it is now just the chasis which i am waiting for again, which they are due to get in on the 27th, he also told me the the expected delivery date is still the 29th.

Seems awfully close to me so i'm not gonna hold my breath, unless they have added nbd to the delivery because i have been moaning at them so much. I'm going to ring them again on 27th and i really hope its in production or i will be forced to cancel this order, as i need the system before the 7th of october.

The thing that is so annoying is that they don't really seem to have a clue what is going on.

That reminds me of the time I ordered a m17xr2 from the outlet and Dell canceled it later. When I called them up to find out why they had no clue as to what really happened. The guy on the phone just said that they had already sold it or something similar. I never did figure that one out, and I ended up ordering a new one later. They got a few hundred more out of me by doing that, hope it wasn't on purpose.

I hope the chassi is the only thing missing for me aswell. But the rep should be able to check if some parts are out of stock and not just tell me what i already know from the websute.

My order status changed to "in production" sometime yesterday (saturday) gmt+ 1
So not sure if the factory actually is tinning on weekends or if dells page is slow on updating. The Eta still remains 11th october though.

I ordered a week ago, 9/17 and it showed "in production" within a day or so. The estimated delivery date is 10/4 but I was hoping that it would get here sooner. I am heading out of town next weekend so unless it ships Monday 9/26 I doubt I will get it before I leave. It could ship as late as 9/28 or so and get to me by the delivery date.

I tried calling a couple automated order status numbers to get more detail about exactly what part of "in production" it is at but could not get any more detail than I already had. I just need to be patient lol. I hope it doesn't get delayed due to any shortages.

order my m18x 9/21 it has been in production and still is... says the ETA delivery day is 10/6.

really i think it's just a parts issue, e.g. how readily they have the stuff available.

My exchange order was approved and initiated on 09/19/2011. Just found confirmation online this morning...

Anticipated ship date: Sep 26, 2011 (today)
Estimated delivery: Sep 27, 2011 by 3:00 PM

FYI - 6990M and 580M video cards have been on backorder for almost a month. The anticipated arrival of the 6990M stock was today, so it looks like that occurred when expected. This could explain some of the delays a few of you are experiencing. (The replacement stock of 580M cards, unless something has changed, are not expected to arrive until Friday, 09/30/2011.)

So was your order with a 580 or 6990 or did you take some other gfx card?
Was on phone with my rep today and she said my order will most likely ship this week atleast. I was hoping on having it before friday, but that doesn't look so likely.

They atleast started to bilder it at saturday so they might got my 6990 after all.
Just cross fingers and pray i guess.
