If you are looking at a page with a list of orders, try drilling down into the individual order and opening it up in a page by itself. I hear the AUS order status page is slightly different than the US, but I have found sometimes the status in the list is not updated correctly and opening up the order shows different information. I have seen a couple of time when my order says "In Production" when viewing the list, but after opening the page for the specific order there is a different status message or a tracking number.

Edit: I had about a month wait on my exchange M18x. I was running with the IGP only. I had removed the AMD cards because the system would not boot with them installed. A month seems like an eternity when you are anxiously waiting. In the end it was worth it, but yeah... a month seems like forever.

Well, on the bright side you may have ample time to appreciate your new M14x before your passion is captivated by the M18x, LOL. :D

I had the same experience with getting an email that was wrong data. It's like why does everyone have a different answer? Aren't they all looking at the same order

Hello all first time poster here, long timer lerker. I recenlty got a system exchange order placed for a m18x base specs with dual 6990s. my order was placed nov 17th. Still no official ship date or ET Completion.

With the help of my technician whom has been close to me in helping me with my previous system. Shortly after he placed the order I was reading up on here for reviews and such and found out about the issues of the 6990s. So i quickly contacted my tech about switching the order to GTX 580 SLI so that i avoid the issue. He said that this could only be avoided is by replacing the order but would take another 3 weeks on top of the week i already waited. So Im waiting on original order, and if no solution is found i should be receiving GTX 580s in a service repair after receiving the laptop.

    Ill keep you guys posted!

On initial purchase it's not accurate wait until build complete and it should get updated to a more realistic date. When mine was order I got eta 6/02/2012 lol but received mine 30/11/11

Still no update on build, so with dell having 12 days of Xmas to help with the wait I went ahead and purchase the 46" Samsung LED 3D TV, should arrive on thursday! Hopefully the laptop comes around the same day.

Provided all the parts are in stock... around 2 weeks from order to delivery.

You are better off calling Dell Sales and getting detailed delivery information with a live person.

Parts availability and demand, basically. Availability was affected by high demand. I think the way Dell have handled this AMD defect situation is outstanding and demonstrates above and beyond service. I cannot say that I would blame them for not giving out a free XM CPU merely for a customer having to wait for supply to catch up with demand. That's not really appropriate. It might be an appropriate gesture of good will if there was some sort of terrible mistake on their part that was unique to how an individual customer was treated.

My M18x's build date is 11/27 and I also received my M18x on 12/6. Since I'm 6"4 the M18x actually looks small when I carry it lol.

    Hi, I ordered mine on the 25th of November and it's due to be delivered today. Which is good I suppose but I've had afew issues so far;

    1. They won't deliver on Saturdays, only 9-6 pm on week days. I'm a professional an I work away all week so this is sucks. Someone is at my house today but can only sat the morning so after that? God knows.

    2. I originally wanted dual crossfires in the M18X and the day I went to order they weren't available, so I've ended up with some 560's. They couldn't give me ANY details on when the Crossfire would be available again...one week later they are back in stock. What a joke.

So overall I'm a bit pissed off, if I'm honest I'm ready to cancel the whole lot and build my own desktop for half the price.

Has anyone managed to get these Dell muppets to deliver on Saturdays?

The order has been made on 12.23.2011. It has been eleven days till now and its order status still indicates "in production". I have made contact with dell's customer care center for new progress but all i get is that the gtx 580m sli is not available right now and it accounts for the delay. I have been asked to wait for more days. Does anyone experience problem like this? What should I do to expedite the production? Is the 580m sli really so hot on the market or is another excuse of dell for the delay? Does anyone know?

They do run into production delays, you will just have to bare with it. The only options you have is to 1-wait 2 reorder with different GPU 3 - cancel order. I know it is hard but I would just wait. It will be worth it.

When I ordered on Dec. 26 it sad expect a 2-day delay under the 580m option. I suppose the 2-day could become longer, I hope not, but they do have a shortage. Mine is still in production but its only been 10 days but it sure is tough being patient :)

It is maxed out. Very nice, but you definitely need to up that warranty to at least 2 years (4 would be best)... It's too expensive to play Russian Roulette with a 1 year warranty. It may save you a bundle (3 more years for what you'll pay for 1 year later) if you get that changed now.

Looks pretty decent you should get the 4 year accidental to if you can swing it also if they have a smaller HardDrive get that and upgrade yourself much cheaper ;)

I believe that was the smallest hard drive but i already have a Momentus XT 500GB SS Hybrid in my M15x that i was just gonna add to it. I'm beginning to freak out about the big purchase!!

Also the rep that quoted me with this just kind of threw it together after asking me questions. However the more i think about it the more im not so sure i even need that powerful of a CPU. The only thing i do is game and that is mostly GPU intensive. All the games i play now on my M15x run just fine, maybe not on ultra, but they run fine. So even if i went with the lower end CPU it would be better than what i have now so i should see somewhat of a difference. I just cant justify at the moment paying an extra $1000. I also dont benchmark so i dont the point in that.

Yea I guess it's always a toss up. But I honestly don't want to expect speedy shipment. For the price we pay I want them to baby every part and every screw lol.

Well, so far so good i guess.....called Dell today to figure out why my account had not been charged for my purchase and the rep told me that they are currently out of stock on M18x's (which is crap because im sure they had some at the launch party of their new system yesterday haha). Anyways the rep emailed me back after the phone call to let me know that my order was being expedited for my troubles....so far this round with Dell/Alienware CS has been good :)

    Hi all!

I placed my order on Jan 12th, Estimated delivery is Jan 30th, now its "In Production".

One question for Canada (Waterloo region) owners about shipping, I have work Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, so no one is going to be at home that time. Can I arrange Purolator to ship after 7pm? or leave the package on their depot? And do they ship on Saturdays?

    Btw my specs are pretty basic, Red, 2670qm, 16gb ddr3-1600, 2 x 750gb raid 0, 2 x 6990m crossfire..all other stock.
