M18x Order Status Discussion

It is supposed to go to "SC" (Shipped to carrier) Status tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers! I was hoping it would ship today because I'm off the next two days. I have a feeling I won't see it till next week though.

Unfortunately What will actually happen is the website will still show "In Production" but Dell will see a SC code next to it in their internal systems. When they see this it means that it was shipped to the carrier for delivery.

 

I'm of the mind right now that as long as I get it by my EDD I'll be a happy camper. It's being delivered to my work which I will be out of for a long Memorial Day weekend holiday and I really don't want it sitting in our shipping room (or even worse my office!) more than a few hours, let alone over a weekend. So as long as the machine and I are in the same building when it arrives I'm good to go.

 

lol. I can picture it now... receiving guy places a big black box which has glyphs and the word 'Alienware' on the side inside Chricton's office. Over the weekend the cleaning crew decides to see what is inside.

*evil laugh*

 

Order went into "preparing for shipment" tonight.

 

curse you joker curse you, still in production here >.<........... oh well 14 days till EDD.

 

Gah! You've put into words my current worst nightmare. My officemate is a fellow nerd and I'm sure she'd try and hide it under the desk but still ...

how can you know that? I only have Order Processing---Pre-Production---In Production---Shipped---Delivered in my Order Details.

One thing to keep in mind when calling the automated system, quite often the information can be incorrect. My first M17x, I would call and the automated system would provide an update - at the end of the update, one of the options is to check another order #. I entered the same order in a second time (during the same call) only to hear a different status message/date. I dont even bother checking anymore.

Try the online sales chat - see if they can provide an update or just call into sales and ask them to expedite. Quite often, they will be more than happy to check and you might catch a decent rep who will provide you updates via email/phone.

That number listed all my recent orders first (I had 4) then I had to slog through the prompts to enter my order number and it still just gave me In Production as opposed to Build stage.

 

I placed the order on the 9th so I tried mine just for the heck of it, and it says that its "currently being processed."

 

Mine says the same thing.

Nice...looks like you may get it by next week or so.

So from what it seems, by one order anyway - roughly two weeks from order to delivery.

On another note, M17x R3 just came on outlet. Its temping but the CF "should" kick some butt when it comes to performance.

His order was placed on the 3rd or so from what I can tell from the forum posts. Mine was the 9th...so hopefully I should get mine by the 23rd, or sooner - God willing and hoping since I have NBD shipping.

I tried that;

option. all it says is "order received, April 28th." But i placed my order May 6th.

 

also, side note. My laptop backpack was delivered very fast. Dell Called me to confirm someone was going to be home over the next few days. I assume that will also happen for the notebook.

 

Are you from Canada? If so, disregard this number, it doesn't work for Canadians

 

also, My order status page has 1-800-915-3355 on it for inquiries. it gave me much the same options as your 1-800-283-2210 number, but it was completely voice driven. i.e. "Tell Mrs. Robot what you want.", (say "order status"), "thank you, what is your order number"

But it tells me my order status was "order received April 21"....

I assume the 3355 and the 2210 are the same number, 3355 being the Canadian equivalent.

 

I called, and the status I recieved was processing, I orderd on the 7th. Someone told me it will take 2 months to recieve my order. Dell told me by june 2nd.

 

got mine ordered on day one, hoping for a quick ship... i did get my backpack and my wirelesss HD kit, which comes with a receiver as well as a transmitter, been playing my xbox 360 online (MW2 and Black Ops) and am pleased to say I don't notice any lag/latency issues while gaming, and I'm a very twitchy gamer... Really impressed with wireless hd...

 

My EDD has been pushed to the 27th. No miracles in Canada.

I just ordered ship date is 5/16 . I went with the Canadian deal only thing I upgraded was to the 1year advanced warranty and I got it in red this time my m17xR1-R2 are both black......... Now the waiting game

 

I'm kicking myself a little for not going Red. After seeing a couple Red ones in videos I'm digging the color.

 

How did you get a shipping date of the 15th ? I ordered on the 7th, and they said it wouldnt ship until the 27th!

 

I went red, but the black is very sweet too.

I really like the red as well, but I went black to "blend in."

Also, wireless HD...since apparently it has a different connector and I can't just use simple leads to get it going.

Just need to see if I will really use it...

 

Matt told me if I want to switch to Red he would make sure they don't charge a restock fee, but the wait... oh the wait...
