A day without metal is like a day without sunshine. Oh, wait, that was supposed to be orange juice. But it's still true. ;)

Here are a couple of links that a friend in the forum sent to me to download these music tracks. Click the link for the entire album to get them all for free. Otherwise, some of them are not free if downloading just one song.

If I were to write the specs and support for an ideal machine that would be it lol, are you going to take advantage of the tweakability or leave it at stock?

Just want to chime in a say that Maldo mod works a treat! Good recommendation Vulcan and Fox  The opening scene doesn't budge of my v-synced 60fps on Very High, just the way I like it :D

It's interesting that the Maldo tool didn't really affect positively my C3 performance. I tried several confings, different settings, many trials and error, alas with the same result: stuttering, fps drops (mostly 1st level), and GPU under working. I had better luck with D3D overrider. With it I was able to finally play at the highest settings (aside from shadows and shading) without fps taking a dive. Go figure...

Strange huh. It may be driver variation between you and the other Green lads.
Many of the AMD guys here didn't require this mod. Prior to installing it I could run everything max except Lens flair off, blur med, AA x1, hovering just under 60, however I had no overhead and action could easily see frames go south.
Now is disturbingly smooth :) there is a newer 1.2 out now, perhaps that might work better for you ..?

    Hey TBoneSan,

it's not about driver differences because if you take a look at some earlier posts you'll see that I have tried quite different combinations of... everything in an attempt to reach a smoother gameplay. Eventually I did find it. Now I can play butter-smooth with all maxed-out aside from shadows and shading, which I need to keep them to MID/LOW. I just found it interesting that different from others (even people with my same rig and conf) I had to rely on different tools in order to achieve the same results. That's why I was surprised the Maldo didn't really improved my own experience, and it actually made my fps worse, even if trying the low, recommended pre-loaded on the fly settings. But as I said, it doesn't really matter now since applying the various tweakings described in earlier posts I don't have any fps drops anymore. Thanks though :)

I was able to run it totally smooth and without any performance problem before the MaLDo tweak as well. It just took my FPS from good to crazy good. ;)

The fact that results are so inconsistent from one system to the next does suggest issues with drivers and a poorly optimized game. You can see tons of examples with both AMD and NVIDIA users that have remarkably different experiences using the exact same driver. One person finds a driver perfect, but another gets a BSOD and lockups. We see that kind of drama here in our forums every time a new driver thread is created.

My entire system is seriously tweaked already, so I am sure that doesn't hurt. It's nice to have a fantastic game that is not entirely GPU bound, but will also gobble up every bit of CPU clocks that your system can feed it.

So i've been reading the titan driver is really good for crysis 3. But it's only for the desktop. Though I stumbled upon the titan driver modded for laptops here: LaptopVideo2Go: Drivers
It says windows8 64 bit but it works for windows 7 also. I downloaded the driver than the .inf, placed the .inf file in the driver folder, installed it and actually crysis 3 seems to run somewhat better. Sure the ropes kill the fps like always but everywhere else the game runs pretty good. Many times both gpu's being used 95 percent or higher. Try it out if you want.

If you're looking for performance, you'll likely have better results tweaking the Maldo mod instead of Titan drivers. Definitely give them a go.

The MaLDo mod has several cool features that any Crysis 3 player should look into. It should be useful for red or green fans.

Hi brother Fox, your success with the tool triggered my curiosity to see if there was something in my current set-up and configs that prevented me to experience any real improvements in Crysis 3 while using MaLDo tool. I decided to do a clean Win 7 install in another disk. After that I tweaked the system and updated all the drivers. Result: the tool, as usual for me, seems to actually ruin my Crysis 3 performance. I tried using different nvidia drivers but to no avail; with the 3 on-the-fly configurations the game stutters like hell and fps drops to a "stable" 30--ropes swinging or not. If I deactivate the tool and simply load everything to very high in game, aside from shadows and shading kept to low, fps stay locked to 60 (with vsync on or just go 100+ with it off) and the game runs like butter. Conclusion: I've got no idea why in my set-up Crysis 3 and MalDo don't really like each other.

I'm not sure. Maybe your other Crysis 3 tweaks don't play nice with the MaLDo mod for some reason. I just took a stock Crysis 3, set everything to Very High, turned off lens flare and motion blur on the Advanced Graphics screen, High for texture resolution, disabled v-synch, 1x SMAA. I made an NVIDIA Control Panel profile with focus on performance versus quality, ran with it and got an average of 58 FPS, 32 minimum and 96 maximum before the MaLDo mod.

When you did a clean install, did you re-use the existing Crysis 3 game folders, files, settings and saves? If so, that might explain why Crysis 3 did not change. If you wiped out everything and started with nothing for Crysis 3, then I am puzzled, too.

The thing is, I didn't use any other settings or tweaks; that's why the clean install. I just installed Crysis 3 anew (didn't use any former folders etc. since this is another hdisk, I still have my dual Win7 and Win 8 in the others disks, which I disconnected for the occasion). As soon as I loaded loaded MaLDo all got worse. Disabled it, set all to very high (aside from shadows and shading) + FXAA, Flare off, and med motion blur and it runs at 58/60 no stutter. If you're puzzled I'm simply dumbfounded by this. Anyways, it was just an attempt out of curiosity since I can play the game well using other settings and means, but it was worth the try.

That's very strange. I'm at a loss why two systems with the same CPU and GPU specs handle Crysis 3 differently. I still think it is a game optimization and driver issue, but it's weird they behave differently.

Kepler-Users should try this: Settings High Quality, FXAA or 1xSMAA and try to reduce DOF. Unfortunality i don´t know if it´s possible with maldos mod-tool or what else. DOF kills the performance of the 680ms, because very often it will be realized by Direct Compute.

I am using Very High, SMAA 1X, v-synch disabled, with excellent results. I have motion blur and lens flare turned off, but that is because I don't like how they make games look. (I disable those on all games).

Same here, though I actually run MSAAx2 most often, and leave motion blur low and lens flares on. I don't really notice a difference between the different AA options, but I just run MSAAx2 anyway because there isn't much of a performance hit. Still stays at 60+ most of the time.

Maybe it's just my tired old eyes not working as well as they used to, but I don't see a lot of massive visual enhancements from cranking up the AA settings with AMD or NVIDIA GPUs. I generally find that anything more than 2X AA is often a waste. With the NVIDIA GPUs, things usually look pretty awesome even with AA disabled, especially titles that use PhysX.

Interesting you say that Mr Fox. I tend not to ever go over 4 as it often reduces the sharpness too much.

Same for me, I just used he earlier version of the Maldo mod as it was in there. I originally used the old enable.bat with the new mod and it didn't go very well.

Yes, besides the eye deficiency, the smaller display's pixel density probably helps a great deal with how things look. It is very rare that I use an external display because I generally game with the M18x sitting on a lapdesk.

bueller - we have a Crysis 3 thread already. I'll move this there for you.

Does Crysis 3 single-player work fine? Only having this issue on multi-player?

Finally killed this scary bad boy and about to start Gods and Monsters chapter. :D Mucho Gusto. :D

After extracting the files into your Crysis 3 root folder, go into Crysis 3/bin32 and run Enable_MaLDoC3.bat and start playing Crysis 3. That's all there is to it :)

I'll be testing Crysis 3 sometime in the next few days to see if my modded HyperX RAM running at 2133MHz made any discernable difference in gameplay. I am expecting it will not, but will report if it does.

Keep an eye on the minimum frame rates and what latencies do you plan on doing?

I'd be interested to see how the samsung 30nm chips behave in there.

I finally bought it, set everything to max and turn shadows down to low. The game is fantastic visually, but I have a niggle or two with the gameplay. It's not as... fluid? as in Far Cry 3, although I definitely love the gun-customization abilities. Also, is there any way to check the specs of a gun before swapping it? Ended up throwing away a great gun and never found it again, got stuck with a shotgun with a scope and I prefer long-range combat. It's my first time with the Crysis series, engaging so far

13.2 beta 2 and beyond are great. GTO Like the other posters here, I strongly recommend you use Maldo - on the fly mod

See below... Ran some Crysis 3 benches with Fraps last night and the increased memory speed and bandwidth did not enhance Crysis 3. It still runs as great as it did before, but there is no discernible gaming benefit from the faster memory.
