from what i saw...your hitting that 95C mark way to fast. you might have to take it apart and redo it. i dont even get that high on when prime runs...unless im doing them back to back. and i still get up to abut 95 at times...but that's near the end of the run 190 seconds later. also i notice your voltage is 1.37+ @99W. im still in the 90 watt class @ 1.351V. but i will have my machine tomorrow so we can then work through it together.

Haha, yea, the heat is a killer when you start playing with wattage. That was one reason I moved over to dice. Things start cooking. The CPU can go from 50*C to 100*C in about 10 sec. I had to use the +150mV plus extra wattage which produced severe heat issues. By going to the dice cup, it took heat out of the equation and simplified things. So you guys can run 90w with out heat, issues and produce sick scores, imagine what you can do with 100W if you didn't have to worry about heat ;)

Thats the only way I was able to run wPrime 1024 at 4GHz.

I think mw86 over at T|I ran wPrime 1024 on the 2920xm at 4.7GHz with a time of 171sec. Thats what it sounded like. He made a post in the M17x R2 benching thread, but don't think he's had time to upload screenshots yet. He also eluded to 30K+ Vantage CPU score, and 10K 3DMark11 score. You can't tell me he is using stock cooling. I think all those numbers are reachable, once you take heat out of the equation.

Another thing you may want to try that helped me shave a few *C off. Try running wprime 1024 with around 75W. Enough that it won't over heat but keep temps around 80*C. Then start adjusting the heatsink screws. You'll see the temps either rise or fall slightly, based on how the heatsink contacts the die. When you have optimal temps, the heatsink won't be warped or anything on the die. Obviously you have to do it with the system running and keyboard off so you can get to the screws. Adjust them slowly and individually. It definately helped me keep temps in check. Made it so I could run 85-90W TDP for daily use.

Ya John I agree that I am definitely running too hot haha. I have been chatting with Speedy and will try a few of his suggestions as well to lower temps.

I cranked the voltage and current to see what I could get away with as far as high clocks. I should probably drop the wattage down. It is just that the CPU was taking 100W when I let it, which tells me getting 45x on all cores will be a challenge with that lower wattage - I expect we would hit the TDP limit before it could max out the clocks.

Run the insydeflash64 program and hit cancel when it is flash time, it will make a .bin backup

Just copy that somewhere. Copy it to the insyde directory and change extension to .fd when you want to flash it.

the real insydeflash64 (non altered ini file) wont do that. it will just flash away.
but will see if that second file is legit though.

Yea. Just need to remove the palm rest. The killer is labeled 1,2,3. My 6300 is white, gray, black. Just need to figure what number is what color. The order on both cards. But i Havent tried installing drivers for it since i can't get connected to the web. I need ti get my disk and install the Ethernet drivers. Not to worried about the benching ssd. Mostly just curious for my everyday setup drive.

As John knows and the rest of you will soon, I am back!

    Updates coming soon :D

UPDATE: Well, it looks like having 4 sticks of ram was just pushing my CPU too hard....so we are down to 2 for now and I have some benches to share :D

First up, wPrime 32m and 1024m with there still being room for improvement. And secondly, a preliminary Vantage run.

    P28998
    GPU: 28605
    CPU: 30255

I have room for improvement on both :D I think the OEM bashing can stop now ;)

scook9, 1.42v on the Core is an overkill!!! I wouldn't spend a lot of time benching with this settings... anything above 1.35v reduces the lifespan of SB CPU's and everything over 1.40v can damage or severely reduce the life of a chip!

But, you probably know that already... Great scores, BTW :D

Interesting observation about the 4 sticks of ram pushing your CPU too hard. You don't think that 4 sticks is a detriment under normal conditions do you Scook?

@ Scook - Nice scores! I knew once you put in some more time that you'd be on top. That wPrime score is more in line with what I would expect. Awesome scores. I know you were having issues keeping temps in check at. How did you get that straightened out? +1

BTW: I like your desktop, quite a bit like mine on my benching drive :p

I really need to figure a way to get the 18x 330W adaptor working. This 240W leaves no headroom. :p

Haha, I might consider it, things in the 17x thread have slowed, If I do, I'll start a new thread. I'd have to give it some thought. Strapped on time for the next week or so. If I do thought, it will encompass all benching applications. All GPU/CPU benches :D Makes it easier that I wouldn't have to track R1/R2/R3 individually. When the R2 comes out though that may be a differant story. I'll have two seperate posts in the 18x bench thread for R1/R2. Now I'm spitballing :p Looks like I may end up doing it.

second? that's first for wprime 32
and that 3rd place vantage is still 85 Watts not 100+ watts. and i still have the top vantage so im still first. :). top gpu score so im still first there. (for the moment) the problem isn't pushing it...it's breaking the 1.3511V barrier or 90 watts max top out speed.

    yeah, un fortunately.

    Special sauce!

Lol. Although we can probably conclude via temps and and kill-a-watt that in reality you are pushing close to 100W. Check with the kill-a-watt John because the TDP monitoring could be broken/changed on the ES chips. That has happened in the past where ES reported wrong values for monitoring stuff I believe
