    It wasn't exactly due to an error, it was due to the fact that the cards stopped working in tandem, primary was at max clocks, secondary at min. When the CF was off the primary would work fine, so I thought something happened to the secondary. But it was the master lol.

    On a side note, a question for those with an unlocked BIOS, what do you see in the advanced options -> Primary display -> ?
    I had to reset the BIOS at some point and now the post screen is dimmer than it used to be, so I'm trying to figure out what's changed...

    Good deal, Aiki. Glad the suggestion helped. I think there must be something funky going on with some of the AMD 6900 series modules. I never got to the root cause, but I am guessing something along the lines of a malfunctioning voltage regulator that gets jolted into submission with the vBIOS re-flash. What happened to you was a little sample of what I was going through the the 6970 modules in the M18x that this new one replaced. (That is why I had them running at fixed clock speeds and fixed voltage.)

    I have a gut feeling your dimmed POST screen still has something to do with malfunctioning video cards. I ran into the that issue as well, but it mysteriously healed itself after a couple of days. If you are running 11.10P2 Catalyst, there is a chance that is affecting the screen brightness as well, but I doubt it is a coincidence that this symptom followed the deal with your video cards wigging out on you.

    If your on modded desktop driver brightness can be screwy since there is no brightness setting on a desktop. Otherwise there's no bios option that effects the brightness like that... older laptop I have had would contain a brightness option but haven't seen one in this one.
    I was also saying the synchronize function in Trixx is important too.

    I might just reflash the system BIOS, but there should be an option to change the post screen brightness. And just to clarify, the brightness control is working fine in windows.

    As for Trixx, the cards were synced all the time.

    Sorry again about last night johnk ... but I think we were headed in the right direction ... like I said 27900 CPU score...

    I am going to buy a full version of Vantage .... unless someone else has a spare key kicking around ?

    I tried all options in "backlight control" and "primary display" but nothing worked so I did another BIOS reset and whoa! Wonder why it got screwed up in the first place? :confused:

    I actually just ran a couple vantage runs with those settings still on the CPU at room temp 21C ... and it held up no prob.

    But I am thinking thats about as far as can push at room temp for benching :p

    when I went to the unlocked bios there was a menu that kept locking the bios.. The one with watchdog and baseclclocks... After reflashing it never locked up again.. Maybe same thing happened to you when you went to A03... and the reflash resolved it... Because. I was going to say I had never needed to adjust the backlight in the bios. Good to hear its working...
    Shaden your overall score will be higher if you run that cpu faster... Get 30k cpu and it might turn that score to 29k overall

    I have a feeling John is ready to smash the record with his Green M18x :) I'm guessing top two best scores in Vantage will be Green, until the other green guys choose to do some hardcore OC hehe :)

    yeah....and no dry ice. and 95 percent can be done on air at the same clocks..but score will be a tad bit lower...due to temps... :)

    hey, but there is a newcomer...he hit 30k cpu and 29.4 k gpu with in his first 7 post here. amd..."wow" impressive

    very well, indeed) her's comes the big daddy!!! Seems like you don't prefer to run 3dmark11, John? But i'm pretty sure you can beat this GPU score with ease, even at 750/850 OC:

    that's too bad the PSU is at it's limit and we still have a throttling issue with anything above 0.87v, i could only imagine how far could this guy go with 830/2000 clocks... probably in a 32k GPU range)

    i use to be the holder of that, but now two have take over for dx11 and now vantage

    no need to...you have plenty of psu power for your setup. i never really got above 300 watts with my amd/es setup.

    for me to beat that...i have to play with a modified vbios and super low cpu clock. and when i run any of those files..instant drop in fps like 10 seconds going in.
    and i didn't really run that when i had amd cards either... :)

    i tried the reg fiixes and it's not working. on my last m18x it ran fine...any ideas or links for me to read? thanks.

    So in 3dmark11 you can't get high gpu scores? On my R2 i was hitting 8400 on 6990s. Are you throttling due to downdraw? Or is it the infamous nvidia throttling?

    John and I have the same KW Meter and where we have a 100watt delta, I've never seen over 309 but thats with 45x and 825/1725/0.92.

    With stock vBIOS i cap at 296 with 745/1700/0.87 and 45x 5vid, 1000 priplane..

    so either John is running high or mine is running low.... maybe we can get a third confirmarion :)

    that's the one...

    but i was running my es at the time and that was right when we figured out the bios mod...but by that time...it was going to it's new home and my unit was being shipped off...so i didnt get to go back and try to make it better...
