you probably already know but I have ran cstates off at 44 for a month or two for 24/7 clocks @ 0 flex for real world use... Not for benching. So if for that run you used any over that switch to the 0flex... At those speeds. If you already were... Okay.
    Ughh nevermind I see 0flex @ 103.5 @43x

    Lol nevermind

Johnk I am really not sure what the hold up was ... but since the SSD and reinstall of windows my machine is rocking ... of course I also flashed to the A04 bios and then back to the unlocked 03 at the same time ....

BUT ... its now idleing properly as well ... runs about 49-50C on idle, flat on the desk with a 43x 100 blck OC on it.

My cores now drop down properly on high performance and the temps are really nice ... actually cores drop down as low as 39C on idle no forced fans, ambient 20C

yes indeedie .... now I am going to have to play with 44x and 45x multis and see if I can break 30K overall ...

I got voltage error at 104.5bclk @ 43x 0 flex. guess I could have played with the flex, but I will move up the multi first ...

Stu, I think the other guy has a hefty OC to be bangin' out a mark 11 of 8k+ so your scores at stock would be comparative..heck, 6500ish is what my 6990 system with 2960xm is getting stock....cpu doesnt make much difference, its the gpu OC that counts on mark11....

I think so too. I'm getting 6500 stock with 2820qm so should you as 2820 and 2760 are the same performance wise.
That must be some heavy OC to reach 8000 in 3DMark 11.

    Thanks Stevie,

Dells new driver is quite nice for benching! Pretty good for gaming too.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the new 580M system. It would have been great to see some bench figures from your new system.
You got any bench figures man?

    Cheers. :)

Conrgats Shaden you told that system who its boss is.

Guys what's the most anyone has ever scored in 3mark11 and Vantage with 6970m crossfire? Would it be impossible to score 30k even vantage? CPU I can get over the 30k... John said I'd need to keep gpus under 50c to maintain 870core I've got 850 in vantage but if I got 875 core to work...would I even get near 30k... Lower shaders at same MHz scores 1000's less

Yes, you're so right buddy. I have to work that into my budget, LOL. Maybe later in 2012... Santa's piggy bank is running too low for it to be on my wish list this year. :)

Considering what CPU I have, the scores are pretty darned good and it does what I need for gaming, so there's no rush.

MAITAI - http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...md-driver-release-scheduled-dell-shortly.html <- you can grab the beta version that Dell is allowing us to test on this thread. So far, all reports that I have noticed on the Dell AMD driver and the M18x A05 BIOS have been very positive. The A05 BIOS fixes the problem with malfunctioning fans, overheating and thermal shutdown on the M18x. You can also click the link in my signature for the BIOS and driver update.

This new AMD driver and the A05 BIOS should be posted for the public at the Dell Support site soon. (I just checked and neither is posted yet.)

So for future dell drivers will be recommended over AMD? Maitai you can run 4.4ghz by setting 0flex and 44x in the turbo multipliers and make sure you have enough watts set or speed drops under load. At 0flex stock voltage you will stay cool enough for a run like that... But honestly in the benching sense he's keeping it cool through the run. You can use 4.4ghz 24/7 but major 8thread may drop if watts and amps are too low. Stock bios amps is 97 unlocked bios is nearly unlimited.

No, not necessarily. A new Dell driver is being developed (almost ready) that will make up for the sloppy product AMD is producing. It will rapidly become obsolete for gamers. Dell is attempting to help AMD get their act together on drivers. They are leaving out DevID information that Dell and other OEMs need to be included in the AMD reference drivers in order for things to work properly.

NVIDIA reference drivers include all that is needed for proper functionality, but AMD reference drivers do not... so AMD needs to get with the program.

Thx Voltage ... not sure if you could hit that score with those clocks. I was running 875/1195 clocks on 6990s to hit 30K GPU ...

Not sure if the shaders/TUs make that much of a difference, if they don't then sure you can hit it, if they do ... then I guess not ... :(

    Moving the thread here DanXbix.

If you want to get the best out of your CPU when OC, and comfortable doing so, either wait for A05 unlocked or try out A03 (what I use) it will give you a ton of more control over the CPU.

Priplane is basically AMps applied to the CPU and instead of being Auto you can set the value, there's a ton of information here on this thread and also in:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...920xm-2960xm-cpu-overclocking-discussion.html

Very good reading, lots of great people here can give you a good starting point if needed. Let me know if you need any help.
