I order one and got it in about 15 days. It is a very good zipper sleeve for M18x

After much waiting, and multiple incorrect orders, I finally have the DuraGadget sleeve that I ordered from the eBay UK store and it is decent for the ultra-low price. I am happy with the sleeve. While I cannot vouch for their ability to get things right as far as ordering is concerned, I am also happy with their very courteous service and gave them positive feedback on eBay.

If anything, the M18x sleeve is slightly larger than necessary, but that is better than slightly too small.

This is a photo of the sleeve laying on top of the M18x
    [IMG]
This is a photo of the M18x sitting inside of the opened sleeve
    [IMG]
This is a photo of the M18x zipped up inside the sleeve
    [IMG]

So, here is what transpired... I paid for two sleeves and ended up with five in all, two of which I cannot use, LOL. From my last order, I ended up with two M18x sleeves and two "M17x R2 sleeves" that are roughly an inch too small for an M17x R2 to fit. DuraGadget does not want them back, so I have two brand new sleeves that don't fit either of my Alienware laptops. I am using the extra M18x sleeve for the R2. It's way too big... sloppy loose, in fact... but it is better than nothing.

In two earlier attempts to purchase the M18x sleeve (through Amazon), I ended up with a 15.4" sleeve that they did not want back, so I'm using it for my wife's Inspiron M5030.

Here is the link for the Neoprene Laptop Holder/Pocket/Bag/Pouch/Case For Alienware M18x 18.4" In Black which I am pleased with.

Here is the link for the Black Laptop case for Alienware M17x that is too small for the M17x R2. (It must be for the pre-Dell legacy Alienware M17x.)

Hmm. Other than the logo, that looks just about identical to my DuraGadget sleeve, including the gray piping around the perimeter. The DuraGadget sleeve is a neoprene material similar to a diver's wet suit. It's very nice. If it is the same thing with a different logo, interested purchasers may have better results ordering from the same seller that you did for the Case Logic branded item, especially if they are in the US.

The DuraGadget sleeve was the first time ever that I ordered something from the UK. The people were pleasant, but the shipping system (Royal Mail) left a lot to be desired. I'm planning to avoid that going forward and probably will not order anything from the UK ever again unless the shipper is UPS or FedEx.

I have the orion backpack (no issues with it yet). The plastic that the laptop slides in does not impress me that much but I would not mind getting a neoprene sleeve to put the laptop in before putting in the backpack. Anyone tried this yet? (thinking about the case logic neoprene mentioned)

Case Logic was also available at Walmart when I bought my first one. Nice price too! Looks like the DuraGadget unzips all the way around. The Case Logic only unzips from top right to bottom left. Still I love it! Nice tight fit and fits very nicely in my Orion Messenger Bag.

Other food for thought. I had around five replacements of my M17xR1&2. Throughout the process I acquired quite a collection of the black sleeve cloth that it was shipped in. I actually use my old M17x sleeve cloth as a wrap that goes skin tight around the base of my new M18x. So it acts as a screen protector between the keyboard and the screen!

That's a great idea. I still use the black sleeve cloth from my R2 with the R2 and don't have an extra. But, great idea. I wish I had an extra now. ;)

Well, I have the m18x orion backpack and its a good bag but after about 15 min of walking, you can realy start feeling the wieght on ur back... Was wondering if anyone tryed the orion m18x messenger bag and made some long distance walks with the m18x and can claim otherwise ? Or there is nothing that can beat the wieght of the m18x plus gravity and no bag out there will make u feel different ?

I'm not sure about comfort, but I know the messenger bags are notorious for falling apart. I've seen a lot of people with Orion messenger bags say that seems burst within months and a few even had the carrying handles rip off.

I have had the messenger bag since November and I have no issue with it. I like the messenger bag compared to the backpack personally. I walk around with school books, laptop, and power brick and it is really weighs a lot but I can make it. Nice work out haha. The bag is really nice when just carrying the laptop and nothing else. The wear on the bag is on the corners where the straps rub the bag.

My Orion back pack has arrived two days ago and it's magnificent, the major problem is to think about all the stuff I can fit inside.

    Hi,

I ended up getting the Everki Titan as id heard a couple of bad things about the Orion (plastic inner and straps giving up after a while). The Titan is an absolute beast - just like the 18x :D

    Regards,

    Dave.

I didn't bother to keep track of rolling cases since a lot of those are rather big to begin with and you shouldn't have trouble finding one to fit the laptop (I could be wrong however, but early in my search, it didn't seem to be an issue).

A lot of folks were also concerned with the constant bumps while rolling it around which probably isn't as good for a laptop (just imagine shaking your laptop continuously while you are rolling it, something may pop loose).

I am thinking of also considering a minimal sized backpack that would fit the M18x for days that I am not traveling and just going to say a play center for the kids to do some work/gaming, etc...and that was it.

Any suggestions? I'll look over the 1st page again.

I have looked for a rolling case large enough for the M18x and I have not found one anywhere. That would have been my first preference.

The biggest rolling computer bag I have found will not even hold my M17x R2. I'd like to have one that I can put my work laptop (T420 - what a joke) and M18x into together and use the backpack for all of the other electronic gadgetry.

I work in IT and do mostly onsite work. I looked for seveal months, and even had stores search online inventories and couldn't find anything. Then one day at Discount Electronics I came across this ROLLER BAG And it fit my M18x very comfortably with several inches of space all around. Also has many other compartments for other gadgets, cords and smaller devices. Id like to point out it has TWO carry spaces with zippers so you can fit almost anything in it. However with the price tag, I wished I would have bought the ORION.

Don't let the Title of the bag full you. Ill post pictures if you like.

Wow, Brother Matrix. That looks pretty decent. I'm working in Houston for a few days this week. Do you know if they have a Discount Electronics over there? I'll check it out. My Samsonite roller that I use for work is about worn out and it would be great to have a bag that both computers would fit into. That looks very similar to my Samsonite, but it must be a little bigger. The Samsonite is about an inch or so too small too small from top-to-bottom for the M18x.

Edit: Fry's has it for $69.99 - will have to go look at it after dinner. http://www.frys.com/product/3893527

Yes, there are locations in Houston, however I bought it in Austin TX. You might want to contact the particular store in your intended area. Or order it online. And yes it must be bigger because there is plenty of room. And it was the ONLY one that I could find so I bought it. It has held up as well, being that I have two chewing puppies and have carried it day in day out since the purchase.

EDIT: And yes it will fit two laptops. M18x included.

Belive it or not, i have been using a freeking Carry On Suitcase for mine. :) I wrap it in a blanket and it fits just about right in a standard carry on.

One day i took my machine to work and came rolling in.. Everyone kept asking me when my flight was. :)

I went by Fry's and looked at it, but decided against purchase it. I'm looking for something with a little more storage space. I am pretty sure I would not be able to pack everything that I currently have in my Orion backpack into it. Although, it is a nice roller bag and the $69.95 price is reasonable enough. This would be a good option for anyone looking for a roller bag that is not packing as much stuff as I am.

The Orion backpack offers more protection as far as padding, although a roller bag is less likely to be dropped by accident like a backpack might.

Okay! I want a list of what your pack ratin' around! lol. If I could have bought the ORION I would have, but I had already went $300 over my dell credit card lol. You sure you looked at the right one ? I have lots of space. I fit all my tech tools, power cords, eternal hard drives, cd drives, books and all the small stuff. And I think I payed $109.00, If its down to $65! great deal.

I own both bags. The messenger bag fell apart by the strap ~ and even then, it wasn't very comfortable after an extended period of travel.

I have gotten rid of my M18x unfortunately, since it was simply too heavy to lug around domestically and internationally.

I use a Macbook Air now, and am waiting for eGPU docks to essentially have a super gaming computer without the super weight.

With the interest, I'll keep track of rolling bags as well on the 1st page of this thread for the M18x.

Keep posting if you see more which will fit. I'll add the one TheMatrixHacker posted to the first page for those looking for a roller type bag...Still need to update all the old links since websites have changed it looks like recently.

Yes, I used the link you provided and matched the model number and it is the same one. I really do like the roller bag. I'm just a nut in some ways. Looks might be deceiving and it may hold everything, it just looks like it might be too small. The price is excellent.

I'll be back in a bit with some photos of what I am packing.

Edit: ok... here are some thumbnails of the contents. (I forgot to photo the AC adapter.) As you can see, I am OCD about packing things in containers. I hate loose cables and hardware, LOL. So, maybe all this stuff might fit in the Targus roller, maybe not. Adding a T420 and its AC adapter, probably is not going to work too well. I could use the backpack for everything except the laptops, and put the laptops into the roller bag as I originally mentioned.

Samsonite bag with work stuff is in thumbnail below. The problem is, my Samsonite roller bag is also completely full. (The Samsonite bag has more total capacity than the Targus bag. The problem is the height is not quite enough to accommodate the M18x.)

    Hi Kamzan,

I got mine from Amazon UK - although the seller is located in Germany. Dont think it worked out 'cheap' as i think they all sell for the same rough price although the Amazon seller does work out cheaper :)

    Hope this helps,

    Dave.

Dell Australia used to have the Everki Titan for < $100 AUS which is close to $100 USD. I never knew why though it was so much cheaper there. I'm waiting on a sale myself.

Maybe the price different between AUS and USD has more to do with transportation/shipping costs and middle-men taking their slice of the pie? Not sure.

Hi guys, I just purchased Everki Commute 18.4". To those who want a sleek sleeve (just nice to fit a laptop), I highly recommend this one to you guys. From the photos, you can see that there's still some space left for the laptop, its not that super-tight as compared to if you try to fit m18x into 17" orion backpack. And the interior is made of quality foam. 4.5/5 star for this sleeve. Hope this help. Cheers!

My Everki Advance Laptop bag just arrived.

The bag is deceptively small, in fact much smaller than my M17xR3 era-Orion messenger bag (in which my M18xR1 couldn't fit at all).

The M18xR1 fits in perfectly, not too tight but at the same time still secure.
The power brick + AC cord fit in the bag too and doesn't add a giant bump, everything still looks sleek.

I had a bit of a walk around with it, it seems secure and comfortable, but I haven't really used it properly yet.

So far my initial impressions have been very good, and for the price I paid (£44 GBP = $71 USD) it definitely seems worth the price, especially for the high quality.

    Hey there

I'm putting together a quote for myself for my gaming rig, so far I have the U3, Mamba & TactX Keyboard for simple stuff, but for something I really dont know much about I have to ask the forums.

I'm going to need a bag for the laptop obviously when I go away on trips, and something occured to me that I dont particularly want the Alienware bag because of A: I saw a review which showed the bag as being only single stitched and unable to hold much weight, which is bad for me cause I'll likely use the bag for college too), so, I kept looking.

And B, and probably the most crucial one, I dont actually want everyone to know I have an Alienware, and Dell cant resist slapping their logo on everything, and if I brought attention to myself with an Alienware bag, people would obviously come to the conclusion there is an Alienware in the bag and it would likely be stolen, atleast thats what I'm concerned about where I live.

So I've been trying to find a replacement and I think I may have, I came accross this bag,

    http://www.samsonite.co.uk/monaco-ict-laptop-briefcase-46-8cm-18-4inch-black/product-en.htm?or=5344173400&shs={a05bcc39-612f-48e6-9e78-6b15d590ab89}

The bag itself looks pretty safe, roomy, enough that I can put pens and books in the front for College and it's pretty much unmarked so only my friends will ever know whats in it. And the big plus for me is it's briefcase/messenger styled, so I can just use the shoulder strap which I find more comfortable after using a 1-strap bag for a while now.

Does anyone have this bag, or any suggestions/reccomendations/help they can offer?

I'm also looking at this to go with whatever bag I buy, mostly because I dont want the U3 marking my M18x, but since the M18x already comes with quite a nice material covering i'm not sure it's necessary. especially for 50 pounds.

I'd appreaciate any thoughts you guys have, I just want you to keep in mind for any suggestions that I'd really prefer a messenger bag, and it has to be able to fit 2 exercise books in it at any given time. they're my only requirments.

    Thanks so much.

P.S. Apologies for originally posting this in the wrong place; I did try to search using the search function, but nothing under M18x bags or any similar search functions came up.

No apology needed, bro. The forum search function never works well, but Google does.

Click the link in my signature on the left side. At the bottom of the index are links for new members, and one of them explains the PM system. You'll most likely have access to that feature in 24 hours or less, depending on when your post count hit five.

    Hi,

I think we may have read the same review :)

I opted for the Everki Titan for my m18x and picked up a 'Dura Gadget' sleeve for it off ebay (sub £10) and it does the job brilliantly.

Would not hesrecommendingending both items, the Everki is a little pricey but considering the initial cost of the m18x.......

    Regards,

    Dave.

Yes I see now, at the time I didn't have access, I guess that measure is there for good reason, no one wants to be bothered by E-mail alerts saying someone has PM'd them only to find out it's a stupid robot. I've had a few of those in my time.

Anyway I'm getting off topic, so I'll just wait and hope someone has information about my question :).

    Thanks for your reply :)

Yeah I looked at the Everki brand too, they seem quite solid, how's the room in the bag with the charger @ M18x in there, enough for a couple of exercise books?

Also, does it have a shoulder strap? If so; how does it feel?

Hey fellas, how reliable is M18x Orion Messenger? Came across Amazon reviews and was shocked. It's not like the bag is cheap to have such quality... Are there same problems with straps in real life? 1-3 months of use...
