cool, I think I'll go outside and keep testing. See if I can get 3DMark06 to run at 4Ghz.

wow, thanks a lot for the software. Just another question, how do i know what voltages to use? can I use 1.3 on 3.0GHZ?

All this talk of the NB copper mod, RAMsinks, heatsinks all over the place. Is there any evidence of any component getting so hot that there's a degrade in performance? The only thing I've seen that's causing an honest to goodness performance degrade are the voltage issues that Z is investigating.

Test. See what works best. Increment it slowly.

It's sticky on the bottom. Peel off the plastic and it will stick nicely to the heatsinks.

I agree with the voltage theory.

wow mandrake, thats crazy. You should do a benchmark on both vantage and '06.... the scores will be amazing. btw, what voltage are you using to OC in 3.9GHZ ?

I can't OC my GPU using the GPUTool Community Technology Preview 1, my system will hangs and my screen turns black. I'm so pissed with that cuz all of you can use that without problems. I guess my GPU has some problems cuz when I open up GPU-Z, The speed is 250 on GPU and 400 on memory on the second page. but the second GPU was fine.

1.425 but I'm sitting outside in cold weather doing this. I would not advise going over 1.35 until you get a better understanding of how your temps are going to be.

okay i may re lock the voltages to a certain extent though as i dont want people frying stuff on my behalf. ill keep 2 different ones for those that want each.. ill be posting this prob tomm once i finalize it but so far it seems like everyone is liking it. the stock .29 was better than .28 to start with then adding the stuff from .28 into this one and playing a bit more i hope we made some progress. please check all features such as charging etc and make sure everything is okay before i release it

honestly i dont think you should go over 1.5 MAX. looking at the mobo i dont think it will take it very long they used some lower end stuff on it and even where you are you may be nearing its limits.. just be careful above this

edit shinj still stuttering. so this may have been moot after all but i hope not. it will be available for those that want to upgrade. but i cant do much more without a system in my hands for further testing. im going to call my freind and see if i can "borrow" his again but he doesnt seem willing to part with it this time around

please let us know if you are. honestly after this there is little more that can be done on this end without opening and modding directly the board imo.. i say still its a voltage issue from the board itself with the quads.

if flex release a .30 maybe we can do more but i was told a while back that that will not happen. but will watch for it. remember i an only change so much. i cant fully re write the whole thing i can only make some changes to whats already there with the tools i have here. so it doesnt go to far.. know what i mean

just a suggestion, it will be nice if the boot up screen is like the original alienware B14 bios where you will see the alienware logo when startup. ;)

just a small request, I guess it's not too hard to make it? I can't do it myself since I don't even know how to program/edit BIOS.

post a pic of what you want in there. ill give it a shot. has to be a somewhat simple pic since there is not a whole lot of room left, also it may interfere with the oem slic table in that area

ill keep my eys open for a m17 to get my hands on if i can get one cheap enough ill grab one again though i really want the 4850's in it.. almost impossible to find right now

ok, I can't overclock my CPU furthermore, the maximum speed is only 3.06ghz. I tried the multiplier and the host clock frequency and its not working, I get BSOD or unstable system in windows. Thats kinda sad. but overall I'm glad that it runs at 3.06ghz very stable and no stuttering anymore. Now I need to try to overclock my GPU cuz I failed overclocking it, it's very frustrating. If anyone of u guys knows any good software to overclock the GPU, please tell me, cuz I'm using GPU tool CPT 1 and it fails everytime. Myabe not suitable for my 4850 crossfire?

500 bucks for a processor.. ugh lol

maybe I'll ask for money from everyone I know for my birthday lol, how's the NBR marketplace? will the x9100 fetch ~ $275 nowadays? it's an ES but apparently a good one :)

NST has the same options including CPU voltage. We just need the bios unlocked.

Last time I checked NBR doesn't allow the selling of ES procs. There was a post about a week ago about trading an ES proc, I'm surprised it wasn't closed.
