Yes great deal since it's so easy getting procs, memory and hdd. Mine was $1100 before BCB. I only wanted WUXGA and Skull Cap. I knew I could upgrade everything else myself.

That's close to my 4870s with my T9900 @ 3.5Ghz but GPUs stock.

Did you call up AW yesterday about the 4850s?

Nah. But it's on as soon as there's $500 in my bank account. Then I could safely get another year or so out of this rig. Funny thing is that I can play Crysis at these same settings for hours. Rock solid. Thanks for the M17 benching thread, BTW. I think some folks thought the M17 was an afterthought. It's going to end up just like the old E1705 did when people started throwing the T7600 and a 7950GTX in them. I LOVE IT!

Looks like you are using XTU. Have you tried lowering the multi and raising the fsb yet?

Yes, using IXTU. Did using the FSB instead of the maxing out the multiplier help you out? How high were you able to get the FSB with stability?

Come early January I will be getting myself a M17 as well, and if budget allows, trying to get some 4850s too :)

    Then it is on Mandrake!

I can max out the fsb if the multi is low enough. I did testing from 9.5 all the way to 13.5 with different FSB settings. When I had the x9100 in the M17x it worked better using the default multi and just changing the fsb.

    bring it!

The cash I had allotted for 4850s might be going toward a new CPU, so I'll be keeping an eye on your benchmarks Mandrake. I'll get them eventually.

Hey guys, what do you use to change fsb for non extreme cpu?

I only can think of SoftFSB 1.7f, which is 7 years old. Is this right?

Requires zfactors bios and you can adjust the fsb for non-extreme procs. setfsb works with the AW bios but isn't as nearly as stable because it's all Windows. No bios interaction.

intel xtu is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better than setfsb any day of the week period.. my bios is 100% safe to use also.. if you decide to dont have any worries. i did a LOT of testing before releasing it trust me. as long as you flash right you would be fine using it.

and yes you can use it with any cpu.. =)

I have my X9100 over volted 0.1125 volts to be stable at 3.6Ghz. Will that kind of voltage drastically reduce the life of my CPU, or is it negligible?

Depends on the cooling. Your default of 3.06Ghz should be powerful enough for everyday usage. If you want more fps out of Crysis or another demanding game just OC it while playing that game.

I'd try to get the best Q9000 benches ever done with the M17, if zfactor's 0.29 BIOS didn't cause my machine to stutter like haywire. :(

IF you still had it I would suggest loosening your memory timings to see if it helps with stutter. ;)

It is like the world is conspiring against me in my efforts to get an M17 :(

First I get an excellent oppurtunity to trade the desktop towards one and miss that by about 5 minutes because it sold on eBay then when I check the AW outlet store ALL the buy it now ones are gone and a few are listed for auction now with what I am sure will be a ridiculous reserve price :(

And of course, low on cash until these monitors and desktop sell, and the only interested buyers cannot pay until some time in January :(
