Wut up friends...just found this site through Google and knew right away I HAVE TO register to talk to you guys!! :)

First off, thank you so MUCH "eightd" for opening and maintaining this excellent thread and thank you so MUCH "walujam" for contributing your expertise and RealTek drivers update links!!

    @ "walujam",
    1. Are you satified with your Sound Blaster X-Fi ExpressCard Notebook Card? It's this one right?

    http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=209&subcategory=669&product=17988

I'd really apppreciate ANY specifics you could provide and any honest feedback on it.

    3. What driver version do you run for them and what "Sevices" are you able to disable in "MSC" and/or StartUp Enrties".

    4. Is there a Drivers Only package I can download from Creative since I don't want any of that Media Player Sound Editor crapp they like to bundle together?
    5. Do you need to install the Media Drivers available from Alienware's page for the m9750 or is the ExpressCard slot enabled by installing the Chipset Drivers available here?

I'd like to get higher quality sound, more from "EAX Environments in games", and most importantly, take the extra load off the CPU to encode/decode sound (especially during game play)!! Have you noticed a performance increase in your processor since you got it...even 1 FPS?

    Your friend, Richard...

    Hi Richard,

thank you and welcome to this forum.

I'll try to answer your questions as good as possible:

    1. No that's not my external sound card, I use this card: http://de.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=209&subcategory=669&product=16642
There you can find all technical details.

    2. ...disappeared ;-)

    3. My driver version is 6.10.0.203, but I've disabled nothing.

    4. For the lastest updates I use the "Creative Software AutoUpdate" which comes with the drivers.

    5. I've installed nothing from other websites, but got all features.

My external sound card is the best solution for me when I play my games at home. When I play, the CPU performance doesn't increase because of the sound. For travelling I still use the internal Realtek sound card. Thats why I constantly update the drivers.

    Greetings
    walujam

Would you mind terribly positing a link to the driver? Is this really the latest driver from the Creative support site?

On average which sound card gives you better audio quality? For me the Creative card is always at 80% (some noise on the line), while the realtek can range from 40% (terrible hard drive interference) to 100% (clear as can be, but usually not in games). If you have any more tricks I would like to hear them :)

    Hello
I just bought a new M9750. I know it's old, but it's new and it was very cheap. I don't know yet, if it has one or two 8700M GTs. But I have a problem.
I installed Vista x64 on it, and cannot find a driver wich will work on it. I tried laptopvideo2go, 3dguru, originals, but still the same message: "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers". I know there is some help for this, but I can't find it.
Oh, and one more question. The Optiarc BD-5500a, can write Blu-ray, or just read? And it has LabelFlash?
Sorry if I posted in the wrog thread.
    Thanks

    Just found one :)

Hey Levenly, I noticed you said you were working on windows 7, have you been able to get the driver (Nvidia GeForce Go 9750 GTX (Prerelease - WDDM 1.0)) to work? Every time I install it, when I reboot my computer Windows 7 will not boot, I get past the Pretty glowing windows logo then its just black. Then i have to boot one more time and do a system restore. So currently I am running my comp with no graphics driver. I also tried updating my chipset to the new INF_allOS_9.1.0.1012_PV. But nothing changed... Will this chipset not work with 7? I am very confused. I even tried switching back to vista but had the same problem. If you could contact me on skype that would be great.

Megszalott, I am assuming as far as the Blue-Ray drive you mean Optiarc BC-5500a. This Drive is a 2X Blue-Ray 8X DVD 32X CDRW Combo. so it only reads blue-rays and dvd's but will read and write cd's. As far as your nvidia driver, I would download this one:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winvista64_179.48_beta.html
It will cover most any cards on a 64 bit system made by nvidia. It is however a beta but all the betas I have tried form them have worked wonders.

as far as i can tell, the camera driver doesn't matter. its not specified for wither 32 bit or 64 bit, it just works for all.

does anyone know what the best POST card out there is (or motherboard analyzer) my m9750 is fried according to alienware technical support... went through all the tests on the phone and concluded it was a power short or something on the motherboard. Im not spending $800 having them fix it. So instead ill buy one of these analyzers and get the motherboard confirmed on my own for $15 instead of $325. Then i just need to find a new board and ill be set. If anyone knows about this kind of stuff let me know... MY COMP WONT POST! AND IT TURNS ITS SELF ON AND OFF ON ITS OWN!

Yeah I would also be very interested e-mail me at

    [email protected]

Id be interested in your screen if you have the 1600x1200, a blu ray drive if you have one, and possibly your RAM if you have 2 x 2Gb sticks.

A question to everyone: How much do people know about the ATI 3870's going in the m9750 as im scepticle and are they much better than the 8700s? Also will the T7600G work with the M9750?
