its not booting in OC mode right now... just hangs and restarts(no PLL pinmods applied only vmod) it will boot into "normal" mode just fine though(.9v according to CPUz/coretemp)...

did you JUST cut pin4 for the vmod?
i would go back and check if you left anything else attached.

you must have something acedently bridged or somthing. if PIN4 is cut and all else is normal you will have 1.1vcore in OCmode

even i know that you needed to cut pin4. i didnt think bridging them would work. but just cut pin 4 and you should be good to go dude.

I am not an armature at soldering by any means, but ***** happens :(

what really sucks is the $150 mobo I was watching sold a few days ago... :(

If the only thing thats wrong is pin3 and pin4 being disconnected then you should boot at 1.1v in oc mode.

So if thats not happenong then something else is wrong.

Try taking out the battery holding down the power button for 10sec and then try to power everything back up.

Did you try the other stuff i said already? a VID mod will be pointless if your RAM is the problem.

if there is no pads on the mobo to solder, use external different power source to supply voltage to the pins that you already cut..... use 10k resistor......
can you solder your cutted pin 4 to a 3.3v power source via 10k resistor?

did you even try to fix it?

id buy the dead mobo off you., let me know.

    1. make sure you have RAM that will run @ 1000mhz Cas6

    2. make sure have OC mode enabled in the Bios

    3. add 3.3v via 10k resistor to PIN7 (look at pic in my sig)

    4. if not stable cut PIN4 on the vreg chip under heatsink (posted pic a few posts ago)

if you still dont boot something was done wrong or you need higher Vcore. i can tell you how to get that if you need it (but you probably shouldn't)

I spent a few hours trying to fix, but I'm keeping it to try and fix latter when I have access to a camera/better soldering equipment... ;)

should I flash my cas5 hyperx to cas6?

any recommendations on how to cut the pins? for me it would be much easier to solder to it rather than cutting it...

The hyperX should go to cas 6 past 1066 MHz regardless of how you flash it, check out the SPD table in CPU-z

dont cut pin 4..... just ground it via 10k resistor

this did not work for me...

I had to cut the pin for the VID mod to work.

    @ ajslay

Try to make sure your connections are clean and not bridging anyware.

i tried. i went back and unsoldered from pin 7 and used electrical tape to tape up the end and just left it soldered to 3.3v and left it inside my m11x. my biggest issue is getting any of the solder to stick to the pins..

Apply flux to the pin prior to applying solder. Then it will stick.

It should already be running at CL6 so you don't need to flash it. Only ways to test is to use another laptop to overclock it or apply the mod and see what happens.

That depends if you have a good VID CPU, decent RAM, an ICS PLL and lots of luck to prevent other stuff failing.

Not having happy results with this PNP RAM...

    Post back after som testing.....

    Edit:

Ram seems to want to run @ cas5 by default.

Seems to make 177mhz jumps in the jedec table so @ cas 5 its too much OC.

(5x177mhz=885mhz) is the highest recomended without flashing to cas6.

Flashing to cas6 would be 6x177mhz=1062mhz... maybe could be stable @ 1200 but maybe not. Next jump is 1239mhz @ cas7.

Idk guys... i may have to flash this RAM just to get it to run stable with 2.0ghz. im not sure its gonna work much higher tho. :(

ONE good thing about this RAM is its crazy cool running. im running intelburn right now and its barley warm. the last set of hyperx i ran was to hot to touch.
