this game is awesome, cant complain, it runs really well on my moded-r1, there is a benchmark and I get 45fps on average, really surprise how quality this game is and how it is optimised.

settings: with the exception of AA, ambient occlusion and Physx, everything maxed out, native resolution

ps:will record a video as soon as I get my camera back.

oh ok, sounds like v-sync is on!

i ran the CS:GO beta on my PC (Q6600 + 2x4870s) and it ran well for that system. currently installing it onto my M11x and see how that goes.

game runs fine with no v-sync and stays above 30fps at 720p.

i guess no one has tried Batman Arkham City on an R2?

OK, got the arkham city game files so will see how it fairs.

has anyone managed to get LA Noire working or is it still unplayable due to the nvidia drivers?

EDIT: Installed the game and it does seem to drop in outdoor areas and when there's heaps of enemies around.

sorry guys i have another question about my m11x r3. (core i7, g540m, 8gm ddrm)

I am going to be buying starcraft 2 and i want to make sure it is ready to go.

My current frame rate for portal, Complete maxed out everything, is running at 129 frames per second when not looking at portals. When looking at portals my framerate dips into the 40-60 range. Is that normal? Or is something wrong here?

I would think that the portals would be demanding but im just hoping that sratcraft will run just fine.

So is running everying maxed out on portal and getting 129 fps (when not looking at portals) optimal?

How will starcraft 2 run based on these assumptions?

Sorry for another noob computer question guys! Thanks in advance!

Sorry for another nooby cmputer question.

SC2 will run 90's early game, 40-60 mid game, late game maxed out supply 30 and maybe dips below. On ultra textures, but everything else on medium and shaders and shadows on none or low. In a 4v4 you'll definitely dip below 30

Starcraft 2 is extremely processor intensive, especially in LARGE games. You will experience slowdown. In fact, if you're playing in any sort of serious capacity, you're going to want to use lowered settings... and even then, you will get slowdown in larger games.

Just to experiment, I ran a 8v8 game on insane on my M11x R2 and toward the end of the game, my framerate was like 14... Not exactly enjoyable, but it did play. When a mass of protoss walkers with beam cannons showed up, my framerate got as low as 6.

So I don't want to discourage you, but I feel like I need to be honest with you. If you're expecting to play big SC2 matches, your M11x will have trouble.

As far as any Half Life engine games go (Portal, L4D1/L4D2, CS, etc) you are going to get very high framerates. As long as the game remains playable, I wouldn't worry about framerate dipping. I assume that the portals have much higher polycounts and that framerate dip is your processor being hit hard. If it's bothering you, lower settings and see if that corrects it.

Yes actually. The last mission ran like a slug no matter what settings I chose. I was a little disappointed but finished the campaign regardless of the poor framerate.

I've been trying swtor on the lowest settings on my bios OC'd R1 and it seems to go to 20 ish fps max and drop far below it. Personally, I don't find the game to be playable.

I'm averaging 30-40 fps on a non-overclocked R1 in wilderness areas. All settings on High, shadows off and bloom off. It can get a little choppy around town, maybe 15-20 fps average but still playable. My only worry is that it won't be playable once I get in to PvP or raids.

Hi, I have the m11x and I see some people are talking about SWTOR and was wondering how to get the best possible performance out of my laptop while playing swtor. Right now it runs smooth while questing and such, but when I pvp it starts to get a little choppy. I was wondering if there is any possible way to get the pvp to run completely smooth as well. Are there specific setting changes I should make in the game and on my computer? I just have settings on high with shadows off right now.

BTW I got my m11x last year in december, not sure which model I have, how would I check that lol?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hello all. Before I bite the bullet on Need for Speed Shift 2, I was wondering if anyone had any experience playing the game on the m11x r1. My main concern is whether or not this game will run smooth on it. Thanks!

Just fired it up on my R2 and gave it a test. All low settings gives me about 30-40 FPS - I am overclocked 164 w/ throttlestop

If it runs 30-40 on an overclocked R2, I'm guessing it'll run a little less on an R1.

So I spent 3 hours downloading Arkham City... the size was just over 16 gigs.

Fired it up with default settings, high FXAA, and physx off, and my framerate was a pretty poor 16-20 in the opening scene.

turned off veritcal sync and my framerate jumped to an amazing 35-45 FPS. Did the benchmark multiple times, and it was silky smooth all throughout.

The graphics are simply amazing... no blocky shadows, the lighting is great. I'm VERY happy with how well this runs on the M11x R2.

Only downside is that the DRM only lets you activate your game 4 or 5 times. I don't plan to install this on 5 PCs, but I more disagree with the DRM on principle.

Oh and I'm officially putting in my vote for Catwoman for best booty in a videogame. Daaaayum.

Currlently getting an average of 25FPS in the grassy world of Tython with a mixture of med/high settings. I was going to drop shadows completely to see if there is a marked improvement but the servers are currently offline.

    Hey guys,

Just got my M11X R3 yesterday and I've installed BF3, Skyrim, and Fallout 3. Battlefield 3 runs without a hitch, however I am having some issues with Skyrim and Fallout 3.

Skyrim - I played a good hour of it without any problems and shut it off. Later on in the day, I tried running Skyrim and as soon as it loaded the start screen to continue or make a new game, it would shut off completely and bring me back to my desktop. I read somewhere that the sample rate in Realtek could cause problems, so I restored it to its default. Afterwards, I was able to load a game and play. But whenever I would fast travel the problem would show up again.

Fallout 3 - I bought the Game of the Year Edition today on Steam for $7. However, randomly while playing it will freeze and the only way to get out of it is CTRL+ALT+DEL. At that point the task manager will show that Fallout 3 is not responding.

    Any tips? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Fallout 3 has not crashed since using the fix in the link in the post below. Thanks argwings!

Also, the framerates in the games are fine for the first 10 - 15 mins but then the framrate starts to drop. Thanks :)

    using turbo-boost.
It is like that before the temps are raising in case of trottlestop, but im not shure.
Latest alienware drivers from dell.com. It was the same with latest nvidia drivers also.
Im not playing AOC anymore, but my old G1s with 8600GT 256mb GPU should not perform same as R3.. My R3 is performing really well on all other games. High settings on crysis1 with 4x AA = 30-40fps

sounds like the Optimus is using the Intel integrated GPU as primary 3dcard..
Try adding the games to NVIDIA optimus list as hig-performance GPU to make your 335GT card active in game =)

Example adding Skryim to optimus (Step 2 on video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSl-NfluOFI&lc

Could be heat issues causing CPU to throttle.
I play on a marble table; keeps the surface cool. The room temperature also seems to affect the heat on my laptop.

Is it doing this while on battery? If so, you need to go into your power settings and change the GPU to run on max while on battery. Default is set to save battery while using the gpu on battery.

If you notice the laptop heating up, the easiest thing would be keeping the fan free of dust; play on a flat, heat conducting surface; use it in a cold environment.

I recently just bought a small and cheap $3 usb laptop cooler(2 fans and free shipping :D) from ebay. The elevation definitely brings down the laptop temperature because it brings easier airflow.

I just tested Bulletstorm on my m11x. Game is very smooth on medium settings, and playable on all "high" though on all high the framerate does not stay above 30 at all times.

I was impressed, the visuals on this game look awesome... Even if the dialogue and story are pretty cliche and stupid. It's like this game desperately wants to be Gears of War, but isn't. It's more or less a tech demo for the Unreal engine.
