Side note: The Fast Track option also have Soft Touch Stealth Black FT, so I don't think that's the cause of supply issue.

 

i dont think the name plates are a problem either since some that had the name plate had theirs bumped

 

How long does the build stage usually take? Mines been there for 6 days

 

Who knows, dell sometimes doesn't make sense....say like something was ordered on the 10th and the 9th and have the exact same configs....and then the 10th ships out first....kinda annoying tbh

 

mine was ordered 6/10 and has an estimated delivery of 7/9

Maybe Dell is having a hard time finding core i5/7 that's overclockable.

 

lol like they would even try, if it wasn't labeled they would probably throw in a cracker.

Dell: "Is it overclocked?"

Customer: "There's nothing on the screen."

Customer: "After further investigation it appears a cracker was soldered to the motherboard rather than a cpu."

Dell: "No that's the cpu."

Customer: "Sigh.."

Well I don't have a lot of time for benchmarks. But one interesting tidbit people are going to run into is that games that detect the GFX card prior to launch (Fallout 3) are having issues. Fallout 3 only detects the Intel and crashes on load. Kind of a bummer. Hope they fix Optimus to deal with these issues.

Is there anyway to adjust for that in the driver using whatever application profile management nvidia's provided?

 

yea are the people at dell pot heads or something? i got custom plated with just my initials on it (boring i know) and ordered 6/8 EDD 7/8. everything else is default specs.
Another thing i noticed when i went through the set up for the new m11x on the dell site with all the same stuff as mine the EDD came to be 7/5!! and my EDD is still the same! what in the world is going?

 

They estimate the delivery when the order is put through then don't change it until it's out of production and getting ready to ship. They don't change the estimate daily or something like that if that's what you think.

 

i think dell tends to be very conservative with their estimated delivery dates. it seems like they estimate under a worst case scenario where they presume they are out of certain parts and have spend an additional two weeks to get them. i have ordered other products from dell before and if i recall correctly my family got them way before the estimated delivery date. i remember that first desktop purchased from dell a pentium iii 733 MHz with 128 MB Ram wow was that desktop on the cutting edge lol!

AHHHHH!!! Finally my order has gone from 'processing' to 'shipped' roughly 20mins or so ago. Still has an EDD of 7/7 though!!!! That can't be right, can it?!
Man I hope not next business day shipping was ticked. If it comes before Saturday I think I'll cry tears of joy. If not they will be of sorrow :-/

Well that's disheartening. I ordered basically the same one as soon as it appeared on the store on 6/8 and my EDD is still 7/6/10.

I ordered on 6/10 was actually kinda getting excited that I may get it before I start school but I guess it isnt going to happen =\. Mine still says EDD is 7/8.

I'm in the same boat as you. Hopefully in the next day or two it will update to a sooner shipping date.

 

Called them again and according to him it's impossible that anyone has the R2...god I just love dell /sarcasm

Edit: He was like "That's impossible, can I have the people's order numbers who have already gotten them." I was thinking, "Yea let me just pull them out of my _ _ _ here...." Ugh...

I'm getting an "expedited system replacement" which was ordered on 6/11/10 and the status of it hasn't changed since.... still on "in production" >.<

 

Bleh probably wouldn't do anything...he would say they were photo shopped or some other *insert dell excuse here*

I think mine shipping when it did had much to do with the 1,854,642 times I refreshed my order status page waiting for it to flip in the past 36 hours. I still haven't received the email from Dell stating it's shipped, but it's already on a plane from Tennessee heading my way.

 

So I ordered mine yesterday, and I got the email confirmation, but when I check the order status on the dell site, it says there are no recent orders to display, I have to log out and type in my purchase id and customer number. When I do that, it just gives me the estimated delivery date, and says it's "in production." How long can I expect to wait until it ships, about a week? That seems to be what I'm seeing on here.

 

$1,206.78 USD. Is this a good deal?

Using the 10% EPP and the 100 dollar coupon I got it down from 1668 to 1401.20, before taxes which for me in CA were around 80 dollars. I then was able to get one of the Chat representatives to work this down to 1294 after tax. I essentially told him the price was too high, and my price range was 1200 - 1300. He told me, he could get it down lower if I was willing to purchase it today. I was only able to get it down this low after going through around 3 chat representatives.

My best suggestion, is for the first rep, to have them open your cart and ask them whats the best price they can give you, then have them send you a quote, if they wont go any lower say thanks. Then go to another chat representative with your quote and ask if he can do any better than the quote you were given. Rinse and repeat. I was able to get around 27% discount at the end and I only used the online chat representatives. This was much better than the first phone representative that I talked too who just seemed slow and completely frustrated me in their response times and questions asked.

Friendly tip: If you use an American express, most of them add an additional year of warranty onto a laptop.
