had the Boeing 21% disc and an extra 100$ off.. haggling with Dell reps is not very fun.... i spent atleast 2-4 hours getting this deal... i first ordered R1 with the same discounts but then 2 days later they released the new processors soo i had to cancel my previous order.. and when the new processors came out they wouldnt let me use my previous coupon codes online .. so i had to deal with the reps on the phone... not a fun experience... -____- but im glad i got it to work after everything..cheers

 

Have a question for you guys! I want to buy the new M11x with the i7 processor. My only problem is that I´m leaving the country 7/3 wich is annoying because I don´t think I can get it in time.... So, is there a way to ask dell if they can do the building of the machine faster or something, was thinking of ordering one today if it works.

I can't imagine they would give any of their non-business customers personal preference like that. It would set a bad precedence.

 

Yea that´s what I thought! Just thought I read a post on this forum before about something like that, that´s why I was asking. But do you think I can roder one today and get it in time? Took me 11 days to get my M15x and I had standard ground shipping. I know dells esd`s usually are wrong. I had ESD 6/2 and got it 5/21.

So what would you do , leaving later during the day on 7/3, arriving 7/4.

 

Looks like I got the same deal as cKranez. Ordered yesterday; matte black i7, 4GB RAM, 160GB HD, BT for $857.27 including tax. 7/13/2010 estimated delivery date. I started the conversation via chat, the rep called me, had to check on the pricing, called me back again about 90 minutes later, proposed a price, I told him I needed better, was on hold for 10 minutes, and then he came back $100 lower.

 

How many people are getting actual ship dates earlier than the estimated date?

I ordered mine 6/12 and got an ETA of 7/7 and it's still "in production" but I'd love to have it by the end of next week for a trip.

 

Like I said, it took me 11 days with standard ground shipping to get my M15x, not sure about the new M11x though! Did order 5/14, got it 5/21 . Would also like to know the time for people who got their M11x R2!

Ordered my M11x R2 on 6/14 and the EDD is 7/9. Its been in production for the past 3 days, I am hoping it will ship sometime next week. lol

Its weird that some people placed their orders before me and still have the same/later EDD.

Ive been talking to a Dell rep about it and they are getting back to me today.. lets see.

 

did you call them? I sent an e-mail hoping they respond sometime soon. I have the same order date and EDD.

 

Most people who actually ordered early on, say around 6/8-6/10, get the original EDD around July. But I think most of the orders from those time frame already shipped. (at least in the US anyway.) That's if you don't ordered w/ anything special anyway.
Mine is as said below w/ custom nameplate & BT. Already shipped.

yes, I called them first and then they emailed me back (I wasnt expecting them to) so after they emailed me back I asked them if there was anything they could do - and i explained about people receiving their laptops already. So, they said that they will call the manufacturer and call me back.

 

Does Best Buy still carry the M11X?

If you look, starting around 440 posts, then you can see that people stating the notebook being shipped.

I guess the original EDD is just the worse case scenario type deal. ill do benchmarks when i get it since no one else seems to want to.

Ordered mine 6/9 and it's still in production with a EDD of 7/12 I have a SSD here waiting to go in it also.
I emailed Dell asking for a ETA but no answer so far... Dellcanada service seems to suck.

 

Anybody in Canada received a m11x R2? Waiting for mine to come in the 12/7. This is just way too long. I might just go to best buy and buy whatever high powered Toshiba I can find.

 

My m11x r2 just came in, I'm psyched. I'll see if i can get some bfbc2 benchmarks in asap.

So annoyed.... Ordered 06-09-2010, and was given a EDD 06-18-2010. Now its changed to 07-02-2010 and still in Work In Progress....

 

Finally pulled the trigger and ordered last night!

Soft touch, Core i7, 4GB, 250GB HD, Bluetooth, etc. This is actually the first computer I've ever bought for myself! All my other computers have been hand me downs so I'm pretty pumped. A LOT of long hours working as a CNA went into buying this one... Thank God for all the Dell EPP discounts and coupons.

Laptop is currently "in production" and my estimated delivery date is 7/9/10. Now we play the waiting game...

 

I ordered mine (dell.ca) on the 15/6 and mine also says 12/7. This is not good. Different order dates but same EDD date.

Just wanted to drop in and say, I ordered 6/11 and I'm still getting a 7/7 EDD D:

I tried calling order support about it and only got a fairly useless call center rep with cookie cutter answers.

EDIT: I'm in the US as well so it's not an out of country issue.

 

Does anyone know where these laptops are assembled for North American clients?

 

i dont know about the uk , however i ordered mine 6/8. If you look at when the other people here got theirs it seems the build time is about a week/week and a half.

 

Guys you have Zero control over when your laptop ships. Don't call Dell as they will be clueless. Be patient and wait like everyone else.

 

Actually after calling the Dell support line, they got mine moved up to 6/21 from 7/8.

 

Honestly all they did was check where it was in production and re-estimate the EDD. Normally they don't change the EDD until it ships, but they update it if someone calls in. It would mess them up and slow everything down to change the production order for everyone who calls in.

Well, I'm glad they re-estimated the EDD.

 

I ordered it on 6/9 almost midnight, so the actual order said 6/10. Already delivered, i'm not home, but I have somebody signed for it. Anyway, tracking said shipped from TN.

 

Small update: surprisingly enough, I had more luck with the web chat than the phone representative.

Unfortunately the news wasn't as good as I would have liked. I managed to get them to update the EDD, from 7/7/10 to 7/2/10 ;_;

 

i7 R2 received!

Possibly the first in australia!

I will work on benchmarking on the weekend.

yep the ddr3 is at 1066 mHz but in machine that gona be 800mhz fsb factor
