12th day of "in production"....EDD still July 12th
Called and emailed Dell with no luck. -
Can anyone get the "real" dell order status to work? This is the one where it tells you if it's in production and in the build stage.
I have tried using the 800-283-2210 number but the order status updates are very generic like as if you were looking at the online order status. -
Just curious, I'm in the same boat, I'm half way tempted to just cancel my order. I'm impatient, I know but almost a month to wait is a long time.
However, I'm not sure what type of penalty I would receive for cancelling while in the "production" phase. -

Mine is still "in production" also. Ordered on june 9th in US. Dell's random order of production is really making me angry.
if the acer 3820tg comes out before i receive my m11x i'm gonna return it for sure because dell is pissing me off. -
Does anyone know if the 15% penalty applies if cancelled during the "production" phase?
Thanks. -
Wow, people... relax. Most orders that were placed during the first 3 to 4 days had the same month long EDD. Most of those arrived in people's hands within 10 days if they had NBD shipping.
I know waiting is tough, but no one, not Dell, Acer, ASUS, HP, whoever is going to be able to expedite something that's in the process of being "built". If getting it so quickly was your primary objective then you should have taken advantage of their FastTrack ordering.
The m11x is worth the wait. Really. -
get the fast track! the i5 is good enough and I have been getting the same if not higher benchmarks than people with the i7 (i got lucky with my GPU and I can push it alot)
-
Any other Canadians out there get there orders?
A month is SOO long when I could just buy a used one, hahah. -
ORdered on Dell.ca on June 10th with EDD July 12th. This is ridiculous. I think dell.ca is the slowess Dell in the world.
-
-
It's sad how excited we get about a product, then decide to drop the cash and we can't even touch it for a month! lol
-
-
I have heard from a few people even my dad say that the EDD is just an extended date to cover there asses incase, but usually the delivery is withing 2 weeks.
-
Just pulled the trigger on my M11x R2! The price before tax, coupons, and other discounts was... $1,337.
Could it be a sign? -
I received my m11x r2 today. I ordered on 6/11 and it shipped on 6/18. Arrived 6/21 (I had free next business day delivery, but it shipped on a friday, so I had to wait the weekend). Loving it so far, only problems I have atm are that the battery meter button on the bottom of the laptop doesn't seem to work
Also optimus is extremely confusing and I can't seem to get the 335m to enable whenever I open/play Steam games D:
Also, the screen size isn't an issue for me, I can still play TF2 and GunZ very well. -
Listening to all the beautiful stories of advanced EDD I am scared mine will to now. The only issue is that I will be at my cottage all of next week. What happen if no one is there to take the delivery at my home for the 5 working day of the week? Will Fedex hold on to it long enought or will they ship it back right away to Dell.
Waiting for this machine for like 2 weeks now and it could just be gone because you can't ever plannedour life according to dell lying edds. I am going to need some serious prozac action.
I am in Montreal Canada. -

Hi guys,
Any of you guys know how long it usually takes from the status is "with local carrier" to it is delivered?
Mine got that status yesterday so I guess with the world of luck it might come today? or can I expect some random hunt from DHL or who ever has it.
Im in Australia, Sydney by the way.
Thanks -
Took me 2 - 3 days Thomas. It first showed with carrier even prior to it clearing customs.
-
Ah I was lucky I guess! I just got it here at work
thanks for the reply -
LUCKY YOU THOMAS HOPE GONA 100% WORK by the wey how long dose it takefrom in production to shiped??
-
for those from us best way is to move to uk where the edd is from start 12 days
instead of month
-
IF SOMEBODY WHANT TO KNOW WHICH IS BEST BUY FOR M11X :
if you take a i7 8gb ddr3 and 256gb ssd and 3yr waranty will be 2274£
but deting i7 2gb ddr3 250gb hdd and 3yr warabty is 1250£ and you can get 8gb ddr3 for 170£ and the ssd for 300£ so you gave full spec for 1720 not for 2274 XD -
I apologize in advance if this offends anyone, but if some actually read this thread before placing an order, perhaps there would be less belly-aching. -
Ordered a R1 M11x 4gb on 6/13 late night was shipped today.Scheduled to be here tomorrow before 3:00pm.I have a question why does fedex show my shipping weight as 18lbs?.Does the double boxing and foam and the machine itself really way this much lol.It had me a little worried they didnt ship the right item. Can anyone else that has received one from dell confirm this was the shipping weight from the tracking information.
-
Since everyone seems to be getting their laptops, has anyone else with an order date on or before 6/10 not seen theirs ship yet?
-
-
Good to hear that someone else that ordered on the same date as me hasn't gotten theirs yet... I guess? -
Still looking at the 7/7/2010 EDD -
Was 7/7. got updated to 6/29 today. NBD
-
ordered on 6/10 but still have the same shipping as before. EDD is 7/8
-
I am 32 years, wife and a Kid and I am about to cry just like my 2 year old son.
I called dell.ca 1-800 number and took the english service since the Indians rep are way more polite then the french rep in Casablanca but the guy was clueless, powerless but atleast was your typical polite Indian dude.
I work with many Indian soft engi in Bangalore and New Delhi and god do they want to help, but as I was saying, clueless and powerless. -
I've called twice and got their Indian tech support but of course they cannot do anything to help.
I need this by the 4th but I am starting to doubt that I will get it by then -
i ordered on 6/10 and still in production and waiting. it says 7/8 estimated delivey date.
-
The agony of wait
-
Also ordered 6/10 and still have a 7/8 EDD with NBD. i7, 4/320 GB, soft, bluetooth. So y'all ain't alone.
-
I've told them on the phone that if i cannot get my laptop for the 2nd, i will be expecting a full refund. They said they will do what they can. I understand a back log, and impatience isn't good. but three weeks to fill an order is terrible.
Sucks to live in Canada sometimes. That and the damned Envy isn't available yet! -
-
Yea seems that most that ordered on 6/10 like myself havent been updated yet my edd is still 7/8
-
When laptops are first released, they're often way back logged. I had an HP I had to wait almost 2 months for. 3-4 weeks isn't bad, especially given how many people jumped on it because of the 21% off and $100 off coupons.
Inate, I don't think they charge you until it ships, so there's really no refund to give. Just cancel it if you want.
-
Ordered the first unit 6/9 but had to cancel it so I could apply discounts. After finally cancelling the first order, which took forever, I reorder on 6/17. EDD was 7/17 and was just updated today with 6/30 (7 Day shipping).
*EDIT* They were supposed to have next day shipping added for the 2nd order but apparently the person I put the order through was just blowing smoke up my a**. I'll have to call first thing tomorrow to get that fixed -
Ordered my 11x i7 with the UK deal to get it for 930 GBP with a 500 gig HD and 4 gig Ram on the 18th and this morning status has changed to shipped. 5 days, very very happy with that turnaround.
-
I wouldn't be upset if Dell filled their orders in sequence and I had to wait like everyone else. But when people who ordered it on june 9th/10th are still "in production" and other people who ordered it even up to 4-5days later have already received their laptop, something is wrong.... -
Some of the earlier pre-made orders got it in about two weeks, but that was because they were first. To explain why later orders are taking longer in total, let's look at an example. Making up numbers for the sake of showing how it works, suppose Dell can produce 100 M11X laptops each day and takes 200 orders each day, and suppose they started producing laptops the same day as orders could be taken. If you ordered the first day, at worst your laptop would be made in two days. After a week, Dell now has shipped 700 but has 700 more orders to produce--so now they're 7 days behind, so while people ordering on day 1 has it shipped in 1-2 days, people a week in are now looking at a week wait.
Now, consider that as news spreads, more people order the laptop so that the number of orders each day is actually growing, not staying the same. While Dell was taking in 200 orders on day 1 (to keep the same example), a week in they'd really be taking more orders than that, maybe a great many more. Just looking on this forum, you can see this is the case. The M11X R2 has been on sale for about a month now, and just a week or two ago it was listed on the left side as the #8 most viewed, and now it's #2. Beyond the forum, as more reviews, youtube videos, blog posts, etc., come out, more orders pile in. -
