M11x Order Status Discussion Thread - Part 2

Only one more week...only one more week...

 

They must have sorted out thier supply issues. If you go to thier configuration tool now to order a unit the preliminary ship date is only 7/22.

So far no delay notices yet......highly expecting one , but at the same time hoping that it gets delivered 'on-time'! Since I have the NBD, I am looking forward to it shipping tomorrow and receiving it on Thursday

5 seconds after I wrote this posting, my Dell rep called me to confirm that my unit will be shipped on time tomorrow and I should receive it on Thursday! She also voluntarily waived all shipping charges...I call that GREAT service!

 

Ok...so it's late in the afternoon now and my order still haven't updated yet, it's still "in production" =|. Already waited like 2 weeks!

I chose 2nd business day delivery. On 7/7 I got a notice that my EDD had been delayed to 7/15. Boo! Assuming today was my ship date, and not seeing any change on the order status page, I gave Dell a call. My order was delayed again, this time to 7/22. The phone rep was nice, and requested my order be expedited with next business day delivery, but still, two delays, with my total delay time now being more than the original estimate?

Hmm, I ordered mine on 6/29 but

Expected Shipping Date was 7/9
Expected Delivery date 7/16 to 7/23

We're now at 7/13 and it still says "In Production"... It should've shipped already?

 

I think they are now up to date with the orders. They got overwhelmed by the huge ammount of orders caused by the 200 bucks discount. Today for the first time I received an e-mail from Dell with the M11x ad. I think this means they are finally getting up to date with the orders as we can see in this thread that many orders are being shipped (or almost) and new buyers are getting shorter EDD in the last couple days.

Just called Dell, spoke to a nice guy that automatically offered to upgrade my order to NBD shipping because there's possibility that it could be delay. He also said that most orders of this system takes around a month to get delivered, I live in the states btw. So don't get your hope up .

 

Just got off the phone with them and after being transfered to 3 different people i was told there is no way for them to change the shipping to ensure that i get it by friday. He did give me a fedex number but it shows the item has not been picked up yet.

Mine needs to ship tomorrow to hit my EDD of the 16th (I paid $40 extra for 2nd day air shipping)
If it turns out not to ship tomorrow, I’ll go ahead and cancel and go with the Vaio Z 13”
I need a laptop ASAP as I have a conference that requires it and my existing laptops aren’t up to the task.

 

Call dell. Typically the online order status thing lags behind by at the most of 24 Hours.

 

The EDD for mine is 07/15. I have not heard anything about the status. Everytime I call Dell's order status number, it says that it is being processed. No other stages. I wonder if that is because it is Alienware and they don't have the order status tied into the phone system. I have a gut feeling that I am going to get delayed.

 

Called 'em. They told me it's scheduled to be delivered "on or before 7/16" but unfortunately they are using a pre-scripted workflow they aren't allowed to deviate from so really they are just looking at the same logistics system the website is fed by and giving me the same info.

I asked if that means it will ship tomorrow (7/14) since it would have to ship tomorrow to reach me by 7/16 and I was told I'll be notified in email when it ships. So no getting them to actually commit to a date or anything that is off script for thier agent.

 

Still, I suggest you call Dell tomorrow and ask the rep.

Have you actually talked with a rep?
Cause the automated voice said the exact same thing to me but when I called a rep, he said that it was in production.

 

The web status page says it is In Production. The last time I talked to my sales rep, he repeated the same information about EDD.

 

Woot, I'm in "Delivery Preparation" still EDD of 7/16.

 

On my online shipping slip it says:

"RA COLLECTION AUTH. BY DELL"

What does this mean?

 

My EDD just got updated to 7/26 =|, going to call them and ask what's up.

Its just one day but still...I'm gonna have to call dell up.

 

Two days now that my EDD has been "N/A" on the website.

It doesn't inspire confidence when the company I've ordered from has no idea what the status of my order is.

 

My status just got updated to shipping, with EDD at 7/16. When I had called last week about the delay on my order they had upgraded shipping to next day. Does that mean I will get my unit tommorow, 7/15 instead of 7/16. Then I got to take a day off or hold my GF hostage so she is at home when it arrives.

Did they give you a tracking number? That way you'll know when it's arriving.

 

Yeah that is a little odd, since they are beginning to ship all those back ordered units now, so your date should have stayed at a constant rather than increase the date. Mine original EDD at order date was 7/12, got delayed to 7/19 during that backorder mess then got updated to 7/16 yesterday with status still in production and then today, status is at shipping stage.

 

Well they havent sent me an email yet about the status update, I dont know if there is difference between shipping and shipped? Right now its at shipping, with EDD at 7/16. So my assumption is when the status goes to shipped then I would get a tracking number. Its all speculation on my part.

My "rep" emailed me back today with this...i thought it was quite funny:

His 1st Email:
The package is with FedEx under tracking # XXXXXXX and will be delivered to you by 07/16/2010, however I have sent a request to try and have the package delivered to you by 07/14/2010

My response:
I checked with that tracking number you provided and it does not look like the item was picked up yet so I don't think there is anyway it can be delivered on the 14th which is today

And his 2nd email:
When the package had shipped out on 04/13/2010 I had sent a request to try and deliver the package by 07/14/2010 if possible so if FedEx is able to do it nothing like it but if they are unable to fulfill the request they will be aware of the urgency of this delivery and try to deliver it to you by 07/15/2010


At this point i just hope i get the thing in one piece.

 

My EDD just got updated again, it now stand at 7/20. Still not satisfied .

 

Well aznboi, you could always just complain to em. Maybe they will give you some freebies.

 

mine too, they didn't even send an email this time.

 

Good luck to all of you. I ordered on JUNE 11th and my unit still hasn't shipped. EDD 7/16 and it didn't ship today.

 

Have you called dell yet?
Cause if you complain to them enough, they will do something.

My customer care rep and his supervisor will definitely tell you that I have complained enough.

 

I feel your pain. My date is that mysterious 7/16 and with the 2nd day air I paid for, it has to ship today (well... hours ago) to reach me.

No updates at all. It's never changed and the call center is worthless. I figure it won't budge tomorrow either. I figure it will ship on the 16th overnight, or more likely just lamely update itself to a date further out.

Not sure why they think they can do that. I was 51%/49% M11x vs Vaio Z. And I can get a Vaio Z in 3 days. So may plan is - if they move my date by more than 3 days, I cancel and order the Vaio.

 

If my unit isn't shipped out in the next two days, I will be doing the same thing that you plan on doing. Several other people have done it already. This ordeal has ruined half of my summer!

It's painful to read all the posts of people who received their units when they ordered 1, 2, 3, 4 weeks after me. No offense to anybody, I'm happy that they got theirs. I'm just po'd about how DELL f#%<@& my order.

Ordered on 06/30 with an original edd of 07/16 bumped to 07/14 and then delayed to 07/20. Shipped out 07/14

there was no update on the dell order status page until late in the day. early today i saw it shipped by going to fedex.com > track by reference and entered my order number. still have not received and email or call from dell telling me that it shipped

 

Mine shipped yesterday, Fedex tracking says it should arrive tomorrow. The wait is almost over!

 

Mine still says "in production" and its supposed to be here today or tomorrow at least according to my rep...i am not holding my breath. The fedex number he gave me doesnt even show that the unit was picked up from them yet.

I think Imbroglio has it right they have monkeys pulling these dates and order numbers.

 

My status is shipped and I have a tracking number. FedEx however hasn't seen the package yet and they say it's coming via ground.

Dell still says it'll be delivered tomorrow.

My order date was 7/2, it's an i7/Black/320/BT/Custom plate.

 

Yep im in the same boat as you bro. I know its two day ground shipping from TN to me suburb of Chicago. If you dont mind me asking where are you located, you might be closer to their hub in memphis.

 

I just got my shipment notification. I took a looking at the tracking information, FedEx has been aware of the impending shipment since 7/12, kind of interesting they scheduled the shipment that far in advanced.

 

yeah on the site my status is still "in production" but i talked with my rep on 7/12 and he said its in the final stage and will ship in 1 or 2 business day. if it does ship today then i should have it by tomrrow cause i have next business day shipping. dont know what to believe now lol xD

 

Mine's coming to Des Moines, IA.

Same on mine, FedEx has been expecting the shipment since 7/12.
