I can't wait to own this thing. I've used 13' Macbooks all through my degree. The change of scenery will be quite nice. I've wanted an Alienware since I was a little kid, staring at their ads in PC Gamer magazines back in the days of P2/P3 processors. EDD of August 2nd, and I'll finally have one of my own.

 

Well... my M11x R2 is finally on the FedEx truck for delivery later today (shipped last night)... a total of 6 weeks from ordering online, to delivery at home... The wait has been so painful!!

I ordered on the 15th and the EDD was the 28th. On the 18th the EDD changed from the 28th to the 22nd....but the unit is still in production. What's going on here?

No rush from me though, the later it gets here, the less likely its to break before school starts

 

They dropped mine off about an hour ago. It was in the middle of lunch and my wife gave me that "don't you dare" look. So I finished lunch before tearing into the packaging.

Awesome so far. I still hate the way Dell insists on making the plug going from the wall to the power brick wrap back on itself instead of going straight. Ugh.

Anyway, everything else is good....so far.

 

damn the page says the truck came at like 830 pm when my our door is closed so they must have never even knocked or anything -_- It says on the site they will attempt to deliver the package for 3 buisness days so does that mean they will try back every day for 3 days? also it says you can chose to have them leave it at a local fedex place. does anyone know the number for how to do this?

 

You can call Dell's Order Status number to get a better idea but more than likely it is waiting on a pallet at the factory in China to get shipped to the US by air or has already been shipped. The status doesn't change from in production to ship till your package is received by FedEx or UPS in the states. Your package will probably show up on tracking either late tonight or tomorrow morning. There's a good chance you may even receive your laptop tomorrow.

Just be patience haha, I received mine earlier today, around noon. Well, through the tracking system that is, since i'm at work . Can't wait till I get home and unpack this baby .

 

I've been browsing this forum for several months now considering buying the M11x, so I figured I'd bite the bullet and join.

Anywho, ordered 7/8, est. delivery 8/4. Bah...how irritating!

 

I just called that number and they said its shipped, either arriving tomorrow or aftertomorrow...I'll be at work...can I just pick it up at Fedex in the afternoon?

Hey guys, when you install a driver, do you uninstall the old one or can you just install over it?

 

my EDD is the 3rd, ordered last sunday, after a week of canceled orders for no reason..

 

I normally will use driver sweeper to make sure the old one is completely gone before installing the new one.

 

^ They cancelled mine for no reason too, and didn't redo it until late the 19th.

I gave them a nice cup of rage today about having paid $55 for 2 day shipping when they are taking an extra week now to get it to me and they gave me the money back for that as well as free NBD shipping.

So I guess that's a small plus.

I'm clinging on to some small hope that they will ship by friday though...

 

I'm from Singapore, and Dell Singapore utterly suck. I have to keep calling in, their order status NEVER updates, even now I received the email with EDD, my order status still shows "please wait up to 3 working days.."

I've heard they deliver within a week or so with Singapore, and mine is the i5 one... oh well.

 

Wow! It took only 6 days since ordering. I'm waiting on the package either today or tomorrow. I probably won't be home during the delivery, how many times are they going to try? Im just gonna call fedex tonight and just pick it up

my order status changed from In Production to Shipped this morning

Still no tracking information but hopefully it arrives soon!!

 

Mine was shipped on 19th but tracking has not updated.
I rang dell who (after a hold-2-disconnect and a second call) gave me the carriers number.
Phoned them and they said it is 4day from China to UK so don't expect anything until Friday with delivery probably Mon/Tue.

 

Mine says shipped the 20th and expected to arrive on the 23rd but Fedex doesn't even have it on the system. I guess it won't be arriving on the 23rd that's for sure.

 

It seems like I'm not the only one with this problem. My status has been "shipped" now for two days, however Fedex tracking has no record of it. My EDD is tomorrow. I called Fedex and they said they have no record of the tracking number...

Does shipped mean that its on its way to the US(fedex) from wherever its manufactured?

 

I suspect so, shipped means shipped from china to the local delivery co. That's where the 4 days is, so we have to add local delivery tim to that.

 

So I just talked to a CS representative, and she said she will take responsibility for updating the status of my order to the hour. She took down my cellphone so she could text me, and email.

Still unsatisfied with the automated dell tracking. It specifically said "FedEx has shipped your package with an expected delivery date of June 22.", when it reality, it will probably get here monday/tues, if not saturday...

 

Grrr. Ordered an i7 on 7/10 with an EDD of 7/22. Just got a delayed notice of a new EDD of 7/29. Gee thanks. Needed this by 7/23 as I'm out of the country for a month on business.

Lets hope Dell refunds me the 2nd Day Air charge of $39!

try calling and telling them that you need it before the 23 they could bump you up to next business day, when i order my r2, it got delayed too but i got it 3 days later from the original EDD good luck =]

 

haha lol.. automated call today telling me delivery tomorrow (Friday rather than next Mon/Tue).
I seems no one knows what happens between leaving China and arriving in-country. Then it's 1-2 day delivery.

I was given option to change the delivery date/slot but went with what they offered.

This is 1 week ahead of the original EDD

 

I can't wait for mine. Too bad I'll be at work, and no one is around me to sign for it.

Sudden change in my order! Now it's going to hit the 7/23 in Ellenwood, Georgia on it's way to Gainesville, Florida! I don't know how shipping to a dorm works because it goes to the front desk of my dorm building and then you go down and get it. There are people down at the front desk does anyone know if they just sign for it?

 

So I won't be around when my deliver comes. Where does the package usually go after an unsuccessful delivery? Back to the nearest Fedex?


And does anyone know if these fedex pickup kinkos are 24/7? haha

They'll probably sign for it but you need to go down there and give them a heads up. And be friendly because I worked a front desk and people were annoying

If you're not home when Fedex delivers you need to call them to arrange another delivery, have your shipping info handy. But if you know you won't be home you should call them before.
