excuse me but anyone here now if fedex is slow at updating their tracking system cause iv been sitting at order initiated and edd is tomorrow

Wow sorry man. Did you order anything special like the 8 gb of RAM and such? Some of the parts take longer to get in.

I got the same as you, except with the 500GB HDD.

Mine was in production from the 15th until this morning.

 

Well today is hopefully the day. I just hope it actually comes today.

 

Yea, apparently when dell says they shipped it, it means they actually just shipped it too fedex. So don't believe when you get that tracking number that the date of delivery is correct. If you look at dell site, the date it gives is what day fedex will receive it. So add a day or two and you will get your delivery estimation.

 

Mine has been on the truck for delivery since 8 AM.

Will probably be there by the time I get home from work !

 

Well, after calling several times and hearing every time that my order was on schedule (read: a week late)... this morning I received a very nice robo-call informing me that my order has been postponed 9 days.

So, to all that read this: If dell says your order is on schedule, don't expect it to be any less than a week late. Dell dates mean absolutely nothing, and no matter how much attention you pay to your order status you're only a computer call from waiting longer.

This will likely be my last dell order.

Called Dell to ask about the most recent delay (sig related), and actually got an answer for once!

Apparently, what is causing delays now is the soft touch black case. So, if you want to use the computer in the same month that you order it- get the silver one.

 

Aye, rather frustratingly I recieved an automated message from Dell informing me it had slipped from the 6th August to "on or before" 17th.

Unamused to be honest. Ho Hum.

Check this out my edd has been 8/06 since i ordered it, and today they updated it to 8/04 it's 8/03 and it hasn't even shipped yet. Do they really expect it to actually come on time?

Well Mine was due for the 6th Aug since day of order (25 Jul) and it remains unchanged even now, although I got a message informing me not to not expect till "on or before" 17th Aug.

Since it's all over for the 3rd of Aug, I reckon you have a slim2none chance of it arriving today! Although perhaps it will go out to the courier tonight!

Aye, mine was slated for 8/6 and was updated this am to 8/12 -

I ordered with 3-5day shipping. Going to contact Dell to see whether through a good will jesture (or a more aggressive means) I can get them to change to premium/expedited shipping at their cost.

 

Woo! I got my M11XR2 yesterday. I was lucky and they actually moved the delivery date up so I got it a week early.

I ordered mine on the 25th also and the EDD is the 8/10. Still in production though. Hope mine is finished early

 

I think it's a little frustrating that I can spec exactly the same config on the site now and get a EDD of the 6th Aug!

I'm going to address this after I have my computer. I spoke to them before I purchased about what I needed to do (read: pay) to get the computer before a trip. Now that they have my money, I'll be going on two trips without it.

This is unacceptable, but I don't want to wait longer because my motives or criticisms are misunderstood.

Is the 250gb HDD 7200rpm? I thought it was 5400 and you had to go up to 320gb to get the higher speed.
What do you need the 8gb for?

Disregard the EDD, it means nothing, much like every other date referenced in your buying experience.

Naw, 250GB is the smallest capacity 7200 RPM HD you can get from them.

Not that it matters. I am going to install a SSD anyways.

 

Naw, I think someone in brazil has to wait like a month or two for his to arrive.
