M11x Order Status Discussion Thread - Part 2

Mine still said "In Production" even after it shipped. The notification that it shipped didn't come for a while. By the time I got the notification, the package had been shipping for a good 3 days already, hence my surprise when the EDD changed to a week earlier. I hope you get it soon

So the dell order status page isn't always accurate? My updated EDD is 08/06/10 (two days from now) but it still says it's in production.

Anyone knows how long this phase takes?

 

Ordered my r2 on the 27th, with EDD of 8/4. Got an email today (8/4) saying it has been delayed a week, to the 11th.

 

Yea, got mine today guys. the origional EDD said the 3rd, but that was dell saying "this is when it will get to fed ex" then fed ex got it, and it got hear a day from when they got it!!

 

it says shipped now!!!!!!! wooo!! EDD is now 8/9 instead of 8/10.

Lookitsakyauk, i wont lie, the speed of shipping didnt even really matter. Its all up to the speed they get the thing in country from what i understand. Once its here then its quick shipping. If dell says estimated delivery on the 5th you should be good. just check in the morning with dell to make sure they actually delivered it to fed ex. thats what I did and they promised it would be at my place within 24 hours. And it was! and i got the slowest delivery cause it was free.

 

Yeah same thing happened to me and i got it on the edd so i would say the chances are good. I think there is like a one day lapse for it to go from production to shipped.

 

That'd be me... Ordered 5 July... EDD 20 August......

Just checked my order status and it says shipped.

EDD is still Friday.

 

They must have a couple of final construction points. They told me that they were out of soft touch black chassis, but some people who ordered a week after me are getting their computers a week sooner.

 

Hmmm this is kinda weird.

On the Dell website, it says the order has shipped (got the email shortly after midnight) and it says I got the standard 7 day shipping. And it still says the EDD is for tomorrow.

But when I go to the FedEx website, it says 02 August 2010 for anticipated ship date (date sender indicated shipment would be tendered to FedEx ground) and for travel history all it says is "Shipping information sent to FedEx ground."

Can someone else from the USA who got standard shipping tell me how long it took to get to you after you got the "shipped" notification from Dell? Could it really ship that fast or am I gonna get a disappointing email tomorrow?

Mine said it was shipped on the 4th but really was just picked up today. I have NBD shipping so I will see mine on Friday. It really depends where you live and where it was shipped out of. Mine is being shipped out of NASHVILLE, TN. If you are close to the shipping center Fedex will sometimes be only 1 day even with ground shipping.

 

I called order support, and they called another number (which they also gave me). I got home from my trip at 2am this morning so I haven't unpacked yet - I'll post it when I do.

Hey, was going to post my ship info for those curious... i was pleasantly surprised.

I ordered the Laptop on Sunday July 25th. (M11xR2 Lunar Shadow)

EDD date was August 10th, with a 'ship' date of July 28th. (Went with 7 day shipping)

On July 29th, my order still said "Processing" So I called dell to find out why it hadn't shipped yet... she said the EDD date was still on target so not to worry.

On July 30th, order still said processing, so I contacted dell again to request a tracking #... she said my laptop was finished being built and they had notified the carrier... That night, they changed my EDD to August 3rd!

On August 1st, I got a shipping notification from dell... but when i went to the site, it said "package waiting on pickup".

On August 3rd, my order went from 'waiting on pickup' to a full order status, with an anticated ship day of that day! There was also a notification that said the shipping label was unreadable and they replaced it... so thats why i had no accurate order status!

From then on i was refreshing tracking # every 30 minutes until lo and behold i saw it was delivered!!! (I put a note on my door that morning for fed ex so they would leave the laptop if they came, since it needs to be signed for it).

Hope that gives you waiting some hope... only took 9 days from order to ship to get to my door.

Oh, lastly, my order shipped from Chicago to St. Louis.

I ordered mine 8/5 and have a delivery date of 8/18.. but looks like that may slip..

 

I see that they are having deals at the same price of what i paid with more ram and a bigger hd is it to late to try and change my order?

 

Now mine says "Arrived at Fedex Location" in Chicago. Chicago is only about three hours away from me so maybe it really will be here by my EDD which is tomorrow.

EDIT/UPDATE: Order is "in transit" and recently passed through a town in Ohio about two hours from my house. Based on this I'm almost certain it will get here sometime tomorrow.

 

Well well, checked order and status is now shown as "Shipped" with FedEx tracking details (which currently suggest as early as tomorrow being the estimated delivery date). I'll b ehappy if it just arrives early next week!

Finally got mine this morning!

So far I am very impressed.

 

I called 877-340-1203 where they told me that they contacted 800-247-2076 in order to find out what was delaying my order. They specifically told me it was some part called soft touch stealth... which I can only assume is the chassis.

Sorry it took so long, I was jet lagged all to hades.

Edit: my order has changed to shipped, and I have next business day shipping.

First time I ordered a computer from Dell they missed the first delivery date, the second computer I got delivered earlier.

My bet is that I have this pretty fast :=) Knock on wood?

Ordered in Sweden, I guess they are assembling in Ireland. To bad they are using Schenker they have up to 2-4 days of transportation in Sweden while the Postal Service have 1 day, overnight, for 80% of the country and 2 days at most.

 

Got mine today. Coming from a M1330 I was a little concerned on the screen size but its very good. Right now I'm testing overclocking and such. I have 8 gigs of Memory and a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB on the way. Should have that on Monday.

 

I am with you idlehands, I was worried about the screen size. Still am getting used to it as the resolution on First Person Shooters takes a LOT to get used to.

But I am not disappointed at all with my purchase. Build, And performance feels and looks amazing.

 

Out of interest guys, where would you put your hopes regarding delivery estimate?

Dell site still states 12th Aug, where as the actual FedEx tracking site states 7th Aug?

MY hope is the latter

I just got mine today Ordered it on July 26th

 

I would tend to trust FedEx, if they're saying tomorrow hope for the 9th.

 

Ordered July 28th with NBD shipping....original EDD of 8/9 - updated this morning to 8/13

 

Go with dell, Just because fed ex might not even have recieved the package yet. it was a day after fed ex's estimate that it came. (of course they updated late in the night)

And dell's was right on cue.

not to mention, plan on the worst and when it comes early, its even better!

 

And I've got another update to EDD!!!!! It changed to 2 September, according to the email they've sent me this morning... Now, I've talked to the delivery company, and they told me it'll be delivered within 2 business days from the day it was collected, meaning it'd be here by Monday or Tuesday....

Really, to have someone order on 5 July and have it delivered by 2 September would be really, really bad business from them.... Not sure I'd buy it again, though once it finally arrives I could change my opinion....

 

Well I'm hoping for the FedEx delivery estimate to be honest - This has now changed to the 10th and the tracking history shows pickup and delivery to Industry,CA yesterday and then departed from there today.

Considering it only needs to get to ABQ,NM I could very well be on for a Tuesday delivery slot (hopes).

The revised Dell date of the 12th would of hurt! I fly out to the UK on Thursday.

So, my original EDD had been 4 Aug, then it was delayed to 11 Aug.

I checked my order status online last night and was shocked when it said my laptop had been delayed yet ANOTHER WEEK for a new EDD of 16 Aug. I was so pissed!!! I sent Dell a belligerent email last night berating them for their incompetence and criminally negligent failure of a supply-chain system, and then fell asleep writhing in anger!

In the middle of loading the magazines for my assault rifle (anticipating the need to go "postal" on Dell), I checked my order status again. It had updated overnight to "Shipped" with an updated EDD of 11 Aug. I forgot that I had selected 2 Business Day. FedEx picked it up from Nashville, TN, this morning. I live in Fredericksburg, VA, between DC and Richmond, so I assume it will get here on the new EDD of 11 Aug.

My heart can't take it anymore!!! Suppose I don't need to go postal anymore though.

 

Skaagen, out of interest what does the actual FedEx EDD state?

 

FedEx EDD says 11 Aug as well.
