Mine managed to come laaaaate last night. I didnt get to play with it much since it was so late. Nice surpise since EDD was today.

every time i hear a car door slam outside my house, i think that my laptop is finally here >.<

 

Mine has arrived! I am typing this message via the M11xR2 with my new momentus XT installed loving this little laptop, build quality is excellent.

I yelled finally and the purolator guy heard me from outside lmao >.<

 

Mine finally arrived this morning. I could then replace the hard disk with my Momentus XT, upgrade windows 7 to ultimate and split the partitions in 3, also taking care of removing AlienRespawn (i do my own backups and images)

ive decided to keep the factory image on there, just like a fresh format whenever i want

I work on an oil platform in Alaska. I ordered the i7 R2 model, hoping it would get here before I left for work (I work week on, week off).


It showed up at my doorstep 10 hours after I got on the chopper.

Now it's at the heliport waiting for delivery to our rig, but we don't get any choppers until tomorrow evening.

It's been a bum deal all around waiting for this little guy to show up.

 

How long did you guys have to wait before it went from being in production to "delivered"? It's been a week now and still in production =( I know this is normal but I'm impatient! xD

 

I had to wait 15 days...

 

I signed up for the email notification so I would stop checking the page every 30 mins.

 

Tell me about it. I ordered mine thinking it would come before a business trip, it arrived weeks (and half of another trip) later.

 

Well it still isn't here. Usually we have choppers every other day.


The one week we go 5 days without a bird is the day my laptop is at the heliport.

Yeah I did too. I still keep checking just in case they forgot to send the email or something.

 

Yess it has a shipped status! Joy. No update yet on the EDD, it just says "order shipped." But if they're sending it from vancouver like they did my case and mouse then it should arrive by the end of the week! Hooray =)

 

My order shipped last night some time I'm from the UK so it's on it's way from China my no info on tracking page so assume it's not been picked up yet by the courier from the airport.

Anyone else from UK had theres shipped last night? or is my M11X all on it's own on that 12 hour flight from China?

 

How do you like the hybrid drive?

Ordered 8/22- EDD 9/2 (keeping my fingers crossed as I need this before I go to S.America) with 2 day delivery. That a good price? I also got the Dell Mini 10 for $190 shipped on the combo deal.

I'll upgrade to a Seagate XT (320 or 500) and probably 8 gigs of RAM (VMware).

 

I'm not a big fan of the dell mini 10, all of the "american" 10" netbooks are practically identical.

Looks like you got it pretty cheap, but you'll probably make up the difference and then some with the new hdd and memory.

 

Well I can get a newegg combo deal of GSkill 8 gigs DDR3 (low latency) with a Momentus XT 500 gig for about $300. Had I been able to specifically choose the hard drive I wanted, I would have gone with one of the Dell options. Plus Dells' memory is 800Mhz...........talk about sllllllllllllllloooooooooooowwwww.

 

Appears my UK order is delayed in South Korea due to plane mechanical failure according to UPS

 

Ordered mine one week ago, on the 18th, still in production, but hoping to see it ship soon, EDD is 8/31, but it also took them two days to figure out they entered some things wrong and the order wasn't processing so I guess we'll see...

 

I ordered mine on the 18th also. Mine is in delivery preparation, has been since Monday.
FedEx tracking shows an estimated delivery of today but also shows that it has not been picked up. So I wonder where it is being shipped from, Georgia should be 2days so if it gets picked up today I could still see it by Friday which is my new edd.
My edd has been updated from 9/1 to 8/27.

 

i also ordered my m11x on the 18th and my estimated delivery date is 9/1/10....its been in the "in production" stage for a week now....hope it comes before then

Yep, that really blows. Well I got the GSkill CAS latency 7 memory, so hopefully I'll be able to run them at CAS 6 or even 5 at 800 Mhz.

 

Anyone have experience with Purolator in Canada?

I don't know what's going on but it's getting annoying! I ordered my m11x on the 16th, with an original EDD of August 30th. However, since then there hasn't been any EDD. I got a notice of shipment on Sunday night (the 22nd) so I thought okay great! My mouse and bag got shipped The Monday before that and got to my house in a matter of days (3 for the bag and 4 four the mouse). So I figured that if the laptop was shipping from the same place, it would arrive by Friday at the latest. The order status hasn't been showing me a delivery date though, and when I called Purolator to try and track it, they said nothing was showing up for that tracking number. My mouse and bag didn't have an EDD on them either though, so I'm wondering if maybe the laptop's on its way, and it's just that Purolator doesn't update its delivery statuses? Hmm... anyone else know? Because if it was shipped Sunday/Monday it should be close to my house now. Or there should at least be some information available from Purolator. Instead it only shows me "Order Shippied" on the Dell order status. Maybe I'm just worrying so much only for it to show up at my door tomorrow xD but I dunno! It's a bit frustrating not being able to know anything >.<

 

@Lucas, the EDD does seem to disappear after it ships... :/
It could be that Purolator has either just picked it up (they take a little while to update the status after that) or else they haven't picked it up yet. After that, it can take up to 4 business days to ship, depending on where you are. I'm on the west coast, and I've got a 4-business day (turned into 6 days. Curse those weekends.) shipment period.
For an EDD, call Purolator until you get a helpful rep who will explain matters to you. Took me a couple tries. They'll also (eventually) give you an EDD.
Oh, and peripherals ship from Vancouver; computers ship from Toronto.

Mine's gonna be shipped on Tuesday! The carrying case got here two days after I placed the order because I live a hop away from where it was shipped from.

 

ahh okay. I'm in the west coast too.Shipment from Toronto to Calgary might take a bit longer than I originally hoped xD so if it doesn't come tomorrow I might have to wait a while longer.

Incredibly, my laptop arrived 10 days early (ordered 8/26, EDD 9/13, delivered 9/03). In fact, delivery was so fast that it arrived before anything was updated on the online tracking website. Idiots.

Hey guys, just ordered an m11x and I have a few questions...

I ordered the $800 Intel Core2 Duo SU7300 model off the Dell website on the 3rd (320GB SATAII and 4GB Dual Channel DDR3)

Will this be the m11xR2? or the plain old m11x? As I said, it was from the main dell website just yesterday. I'm wondering if it will come with Optimus, and if it will be the glossy black or the matte black.

If anyone ordered a similar model, or has any idea, please let me know.

The reason too that I ask about the color... My only black option was "Cosmic Black" and I see some people here posting that theirs was "Soft Touch Stealth Black" I assume that Cosmic Black is the glossy one? My main concern however is with Optimus. I hope the C2D models come with it, but if not, it's not a deal breaker either.

Soft touch is only available on the R2. Yeah, Cosmic Black is the glossy one.

Optimus is also only available on the R2.

I am from the UK, I just ordered my R2 on 3 Sept 10, its EDD is 21 Sept, today 10 Sept, Dell says my order is shipped! Not bad for a quick turnearound.

I still can't get the status of the tracking for the package though.

I'm so excited to get my hands on it.
