M11x Order Status Discussion Thread - Part 2

Does anyone have any idea why my order is delayed? It was supposed to ship yesterday with an arrival day of later this week, but now its delayed to mid next week. Its from DELL OUTLET and is a "Previously Owned NEW" laptop, so its not like they need to build it or anything...Kind of worries me, and I know I cant cancel it and order a NEW ONE sinced its "in production".

Blah.

 

I got my R1 yesterday! Ordered on 9/5, received 9/13. So far, I love it! The size is perfect for what I wanted. The SU4100 overclocked runs just fine for me so far. SC2 loads slower than my Phenom II 965 @ 3.9 Ghz, but that's to be expected and it wasn't an annoyingly long wait.

I've never owned a laptop before, so I was nervous about how the keyboard and trackpad would work for me, but so for they're both great. I had to set the sensitivity to max though, as I'm used to using my gaming mouse at 5700 dpi. If I'm going on a long trip I'd take my gaming mouse with me anyway so no biggie.

My only complaint, it has a few very minor, light scratches on the lid on the raised middle part. Not bad enough to bother me too much, but it is slightly annoying since I avoided a cheaper scratch n' dent so I could get one in good shape.

Now, time to start updating and tweaking!

 

I ordered 9/29 with standard 7 day shipping. The estimated arrival was 10/13. My status changed today to shipped and it is scheduled to arrive tomorrow 10/6. It was only going from Chicago to Kansas City. I'm getting mine 7 days early. I hope that gives hope to some others that are waiting in anticipation.

I see a lot of people who get the m11x way before the estimated date, I hope mine is the same since:

This seems like a very long wait.

Still says in production =(. Shouldn't the order status page get updated at some point? I purchased a R2 with i7, 4gb, 250 gb hdd, black.

Estimated Arrival: 10/29 - 11/05

Those are USA style dates....

 

Mine just got updated to the delivery prep stage. I called the Dell status # and it says it will ship on 10/14, which is a few days from now?? Huh

 

Those Dell dates are weird, I bought my M11x Oct. 8th, the deliver estimate was Oct 22th, but today the status page shows that the laptop was sent today....

And more weird, in a different order, I got a logitech mouse (actually 2, one for my dad) and the neopren for the m11x, it was estimated to be sent Oct 13th and yesterday, it was updated to be sent Oct 21th....

 

yeal for the laptop, Dell gives a worst case scenario estimate, then updates accordingly.

Ordered 12th, arriving 19th (for [Foxtrot] in sig ).

 

Just got an amazing deal on a R1 (7300) w/ 4gig ram and a 320 gb hdd for $550 at Microsoft Store. Arrives in 3-7 days! Guess I don't get a nameplate :\

Anyone had any experience with delivery times in Australia? I don't have a tracking number because it was ordered for me by a company but i know roughly when they're placing the order. the dell site says est 11-17 working days which would suck because that is right during my exam block lol. Any australians know id its usually longer/shorter than this?

 

Mine arrived today, I bought it the 8th and got it the 22th, well, here in Mexico, international dates are almost twice than USA ones...

 

I know it will be hard....

Just ordered my M11xR2 a few minutes ago 10/24/10 and it's showing an estimated delivery 11/8/10. I also got the Alienware Orion Portfolio Case.

I'm having buyers remorse... Did I make a good decision in buying this laptop? I wanted it because of it's size and it's power, but I liked the uniqueness of it... I don't know...

well, i finally set up an account with this forum. i was initially very worried about the shipping time, but i am pleasantly surprised with my order

M11x R2 i5, 320gb HD, 4 gb RAM (no gobi, no BT, standard nameplate)

EDD(original): 11/17
EDD(updated):11/9!!!

I have standard 7 day shipping, but if the EDD is correct, my entire order would have been processed, produced, and shipped in only 6 days! i only hope it actually DOES arrive tomorrow :/

ps- i live in Los Angeles, CA if that is any help to you. looks like my m11x was assembled in Lebanon, TN (based on what the slip that came with the Green Onions antiglare screen said).

 

if the m11x has already shipped from the supplier, is it possible that they will delay the EDD? its been about 19 hours since dell sent me an email saying that my order shipped, but as of right now, Fedex still says

"Shipment information sent to FedEx
Please check back later for shipment status or subscribe for e-mail notifications"

is it possible for them to recieve it the package AND deliver it to my houseon the same day?

 

It's possible but pretty unlikely. If you live near the assembly location it would make sense, but you said it's coming from TN to CA?

Just go by whatever the FedEx tracking info says when it's available, that should be more accurate.

 

Not likely at all. It took mine a week to get processed and get here so don't get your hopes up just yet. Sometimes, it takes awhile for the shipping info to be updated as well.

 

ordered mine on 2nd, been through Shanghai, Dubai, Germany and is now in the UK, probably in the back of a van somewhere. Wish I could get a flight from UK -> germany->dubai -> shanghai for that little cash :/ heck, i'd even pay to get home too!

lol, guess what happened? it arrived yesterday at 12! so i guess it IS possible for them to recieve tha package and ship the same day! thats really amazing, because it took ONLY 6 DAYS from order processing, assembling, and shipping to get to my house! and whats even better is that i payed for regular 7 day shipping!! i am one happy customer

Just got my m11x that i won in a comp

not quite sure but i think the order was placed 21/10 and i received it 12/11 (in Australia)

too bad its right in the middle of my med exams... distraction much

 

After issues I re-ordered 11/16 my EDD is 11/26 but it has already got to the 'in production' stage so hopefully will arrive very soon. Will update when I have a shipping confirmation.

 

I ordered mine a couple hours ago.
Have a delivery date of the 3rd of December. But am i right in thinking that it could be delivered quicker?

Hehehe same here from the uk, ordered it about 7 pm, EDD 3rd of december, im hoping once the cogs turn it will tighten the date a little

 

I'm hoping that when the payment goes through it might make the EDD sooner

 

Mines shipped apparently but the tracking number says it was sent and returned in August so must of gave me wrong one.
Apparently sorting it for me, but regardless I will just stay in early next week in case it shows up!
But mine wasnt meant to arrive till next Friday so yeah should come before shipping date they usually give some extra time for small delays along the way.

I ordered mine yesterday, costed around $1,047 with tax(I also bought the Alienware Orion Portfolio Case for M11x) , I got the i5 core, 500 GB HDD, and 4GB Ram. EDD is December 8th I hope it comes in the next week or two, I can't stand waiting any longer!

 

Of course I select the free shipping and delivery date will be nov 29 and I won't be here (parents house for break) then. So I decide to pony up a substantial sum for 2 day shipping, delivery date is now nov 24. When the order is confirmed it now says the 29th again even with the expensive 2 day shipping.

Looks like they are getting a call tomorrow from an unhappy customer. I have read about these dates changing all around, but it is totally misleading to say one thing during checkout and then after you paid it is changed.

 

jeep, you never know exactly when they will send it out. Most of the time it is before rather than later but as usual it depends on supply, demand, holidays, etc... Call them and be polite. Explain whatever situation you have and I am sure they will work it out with you. Trust me, we all want our notebooks next day. Reality is that the customization we get with this notebook is at the cost of immediate arrival to your home. Best Wishes, StevenX

It has arrived man this thing looks insane!
I need to work out everything I need to do though to have it ready obviously I grabbed Avast and sorted out the toaster.exe thing straight away but I don't know if there is anything else which is a major must before using it.
I do seem to be having some trouble with the 'f' key not always working ... hope it isn't a permanent issue.
