M11x Order Status Discussion Thread - Part 2

Ordered 5 five days ago now and still in "Work In Progress" =/
I could really do with having it this week =[
Looking bleak

 

I ordered 7 days ago and mine is also still "Work in Progress"

 

This makes me think I aint gona get mine this week then :/ lol

 

is work in progress equivalent to in production

 

not sure what your delays are. once its shipped you should see where from. if its China like mine then i'd be suprised as each stage (order payment, work in progress, development, boxing/shipping) took one day each. so maybe your order is being made somewhere else?

so should be here t'moz morning, finaly be able to play my games as the current desktop has packed in for two months!

 

Dell can sometimes be crap at their order updates to my knowledge.
I know people who've had the delivery company trying to arrnage the delivery when the order status still says "in production" etc. I just don't see how my laptop still hasn't been made...

 

for Uk orders "In production" is after "work in progress". In production is where it's being boxed up etc before shipping. Hope I get to that point today, as most other people on here did :/

 

I thought in production is where they actually assemble and test it.

The longer it takes to build the better the quality right

 

It could also mean they assigned crap technician to ours and so he's taking ages lol

Then I did what I thought would be a pointless order status check and voila!
In Production!!
Doubt I'll get it before the weekend, but glad it's finally moved on lol

 

arrived this morning. really well built and no problems so far!
downloading medieval total war 2 and mass effect. should play these games no problem!

 

Ordered April 20th, EDD May 6th... "In Production"

 

Still "In Production"... Dell says that stage now only means "After it has successfully completed testing and passed quality control, your order will be ready to ship."
Please ship today Dell =[

 

Production is supposed to be the longest process. This is where they actually build the computer and test it.

I would very much like mine by this weekend as I have a long train journey ahead, but I can't see it happening

 

I could have sworn they said they were building it in "Work In Progress"
Either they altered their statements or I can't read or something xD

 

This is what the Dell website says:

3. Work In Progress

. If you personalized your computer, it’s being prepared for production.
. If you ordered an electronics, accessories, software or ink, it’s being prepared for packing.

4. In Production

. If you personalized your computer, your order is custom built to your specification. After successfully completed and passed quality control, your order will be ready to ship.
. If you ordered an electronics, accessories, software or ink, your order has been packed and will soon be ready to ship.

 

hmm, well Work in progress must have been when they got the kit they needed. Surely it can't take long to assemble it all!
Mine changed to "in production" after 10pm last night, so I think mine's being made in China...

 

Hey guys, i ordered finally ordered my m11x (YES!) at about 6pm on Monday. It's now 9pm on a Wednesday and i've still only had the very first email from Dell. Is it normal to wait this long for the second confirmation email? :S

 

It depends how you paid. I think some payment methods are slower to process than others.

Oh and to you all, China is where all DELL machines are made now. I know that for us UK people China are seven hours ahead, so expect changes at weird hours in your order status

Well that figures! I just got an email from them this morning, saying that payment could not be processed. So i've gone back to the site and ordered another one. Only problem is, i've used the exact same details. So either there's something wrong with them, or it was just a slip up. Guh, i hope things go well.

Maybe your bank denied such a large payment going out? You could try contacting them to say a large amount is due to come out. That's all I can think of sorry.

I ordered mine on 25 April and it went into "in production" by Monday. I hope it'll ship out Friday or Saturday. I'm not sure if they DO even ship out on sat. Any experience with this? I have next day service and I believe FedEx will work sat for next day in some areas.

 

I got a email at 12:45pm from dell saying my order has shipped, so "9 days" until shipped for mine. Should see it tomorrow!!!

 

To my knowledge all orders are made in China now, so shipping actually takes a day or two depending on if your order comes by plane or by boat. Then the order will be passed on to a courier.
It may be different in the U.S though, but this is just what I've gathered.

 

Everyone who ordered on the 20th or 21st has now had theirs shipped. I ordered on the 22nd so hopefully tomorrow mine will ship

 

I ordered mine on monday (4/26) and online it says its in production but on the phone its still being processed. My EDD is 5/11

I don't get what is going on. I ordered mine on 20/4, the same day that pezza2000 ordered his. Pezza got his on Wednesday and mine is still in China.
I've not even had an email confirming the delivery date yet. I think I'm going to give Dell a call.

 

dude I don't think it will help. I order the day after you and a bit and it looks like our laptops are in the same shipment now. You only get delivery arrangement when the shipment arrives in UK with Syncreon. I bet they're just waiting to send the boat/plane off and that there's more cargo. That's all.

 

Just received a phone call from Dell. I have a confirmed delivery for Thursday between 8am and 1pm.

 

If your M11x is coming by FedEx don't rely too much on the tracking information, it is delayed by quite a bit. Mine shipped yesterday at 11:40 am, although it didn't show as being picked up until midnight in Memphis, TN. Then all of a sudden this morning it showed up as "out for delivery". FedEx shipping is great, tracking maybe not so great.

 

Oh noooooooooooo.

I emailed Dell about why my payments are not going through, and i got a reply saying that both orders are being processed!!!

I don't know what's going on here, i have one email telling me it didn't work, and one saying that is has. What's worse is that i have to wait untill tuesday to call them, because they're closed up until then!

 

I know your probaly climbing the walls with anger right now, but I cant help myself...

I will take the spare m11x off your hands

Mine arrived! Ordered 14/4 scheduled by Dell for 28/4 - I rearrange for 30/4.

The only problem now is that the SU7300 will not OC. Gonna post in the troubleshooting threads for advice... but might end up cancelling....

 

did your order progress during the weekend after it shipped?
I'm gona have 3 days now of barely anything to do so I'm hoping the shipment still travels etc.

 

No it didnt change status again until the Tuesday (it arrived in Holland I think) they called the same day to say it will be delivered on the Wednesday (I rearranged for Friday)

 

Has yours made any progress on the tracking system now?
Mine hasn't, I've had no phone call, but I did get the DELL invoice thing through my email.

I actually received 2 phone call confirming the same time and date. after the phone calls the system updated itself to as above.
