M11x Order Status Discussion Thread - Part 2

mine is also the 16th. I don't know how you have that date.

 

My original estimate was the 21st but when I received the shipment notification this morning they revised it to the 16th. The Fedex tracking number hasn't updated yet so I'm not sure how accurate that is. I did order the base harddrive since I'm installing a SSD so that could have made a difference.

 

I ordered the 3rd, with a EDD of the 17th. I can get fedex tracking number using my order number , but there is no estimated delivery date on fedex's site, and my order still is sitting on in production/delivery prep for the past 3-4 days.

 

What SSD did you end up going with? This is what I ended up getting from newegg.

Just ordered my R2. Got a quick ship model, mostly got it for travel gaming etc. The monster at home takes care of everything else lol. ETA 12/14. Got 3 year Adv Warranty as well...those hinges better watch out...

My date was supposed to be the 16th but got a tracking number this morning with an estimated ship date of the 9th and a receive date of the 14th... weird.

 

My tracking number is finally showing up on fedex and says ship date of the 8th with delivery of 13th but it hasn't shown any scans. Somehow I doubt it will be delivered today.

 

I haven't ordered it yet. I'm looking at at few different 60-64GB models but possibly the Kingston V100. I don't anticipate needing any more than that.

I spoke to another dell rep today who confirmed the same information as before that mine would ship by the 16th and arrive by the 20th. However he also told me the production team had me listed as "near completion." Here's hoping I get it early and by the end of the week. I still find it odd that some of you guys who ordered several days after I did already received shipping information. All I upgraded was the RAM to 4GB and the HDD to 250GB.

 

I didn't upgrade either of those so mine was stock. I only added bluetooth and I have 8Gigs of Ram that just arrived and I have my eye on a 7200 rpm drive or an ssd depending on how I feel.

 

Just got my r1 in from the blackfriday/cybermonday deal they had going on.

Ordered on the 2nd, was expected to get it the 16th, it came in today.

Now to play with the drivers everyones talking about, already installed my 8gb of ram.

 

update mine is in town per fedex and out for delivery tomorrow. I have someone at home so all should go well.

 

Well that's just horse ****. I mean congrats on finally getting your comp, but I ordered mine on Nov 30th and I still haven't got mine. It's "supposed" to be here Friday...and that's because I paid for next day delivery.... I seriously hate dell now!

 

Ordered 4th and Fedex(ground) tracking just updated/revised estimated date from today(13th) to the 16th. I wouldn't be surprised to see it come at least a day or so earlier than that as it was just scanned and isnt that far away.

 

Just got my shipping information. It should arrive by Wednesday (The 15th). Super excited. It was already picked up in Nashville, so I might actually get it tomorrow.

 

i got mine yesterday =D it got shipped from Dell to my adress in NY then from there to Here then customs and stuff like than i got it yesterday ordered it on the 26th

i have a WD 320gb Black im gonna thow in there the second i get it and i hope to up the ram to 4gb somtime in the future.

Wow I had to register just to comment on this.. I bought 2 mx11 r1 stock when they were 599 on Dec 9th for myself and a Christmas present for my cousin. The estimated eta has been the 27th and it's been in production for almost a week now.... I kinda wanted them b4 Christmas ...

 

So I ordered my M11x on the 9th (Yay!) with the fast shipping/one day shipping thing, though I'm getting a bit paranoid with how Dell manages the delivery status .-. .

Along with the laptop, I ordered a copy of Starcraft II, a laptop case, mouse and screen protector. Just got all my extra stuff in the mail yesterday, but its missing the screen protector and the order status for all of this still says in production. I hope they just mean the screen protector is in production, and I didn't get ripped off. I'll probably call support later, if it doesn't come in by the week.

Also, about how long does shipping usually take? Checked up online and it took them three days to transport it to Nashville, TN from Memphis, TN. I live on Hawaii so I was wondering how they deliver this stuff over seas :x.

 

Mine is in the "boxing" stage according to the 1800 alienware number...Supposed to get it the 17th. Cross my fingers. I can't wait to install my ocz ssd

 

Just read a few posts back to everyone's delivery status. I ordered mine on the 30th of November and I'm supposed to get it Friday...I live in Florida, So I could only imagine it'll take an extra day or so to get to Hawaii

 

Just placed my order with the Outlet for the base R1 model. Total came out to $509 with the 15% Outlet coupon that started today. I was holding out for CES and the possibility of a R3 but decided that $500 was just too good to pass up.

Comes with free 2nd day shipping and is showing an estimated delivery date of 12.17. Hopefully it will actually ship tomorrow and arrive on the 17th. That would be a Christmas Miracle.

 

if something is released for ces 2011 you can always return your laptop within 30 days of purchase.......so ive heard.. so good call

also i heard if you do try to return it they often try to persuade you to keep it.. because its custom made for you i guess.. and knock the price down abit so then you will have that option as well to save money or get new version, seems like win, win situation to me

Oh wow! This just keeps getting better and better. I got it in the black and I'm extremely excited. Ive wanted this computer since it was announced at CES 2010.

 

Ah, lucky me~ The laptop came today, but on the down side, the fedex tracking said "Delivery Exception, customer not available or business closed". The hell?

My mother was staying home all day and told me she'd keep an eye on the phone. I came home and checked the phone, there was no missing calls and she says that nobody called them. No slip on the door knob either and I said a FedEx Truck driving uphill on my way home. God I hope they aren't screwing with me...

 

FINALLY!!!! Got an e-mail from Dell just not saying it shipped today. The e-mail from Dell says I'll receive it the 16th Thursday. But....when I actually go to the fedex page it says the (tomorrow) by 3pm...It just shipped from Tennessee. I paid for next day. I hope I get it tomorrow!!!

 

Ordered my m11x r1 (back friday deal / got 4gb ram instead of stock 2gb) on the 6th. Called Dell to check on my order status since the online page is still on ''In Production'', and it told me my order has shipped on the 15th lol. Just went to Fedex website and tracked by reference, and what do you know... Ship Date - 14th, Estimated Delivery Date - 15th. Says it shipped from Keasbey, NJ, which isn't far away from me. Looks like I'm getting it tomorrow! Yeaaaaaaaah

 

The same exact thing just happened to me! is up with that? Damn you FedEX and DELL!!! :/

 

lawl just called automated order status says my order was shipped on Dec 20th and i should receive on the 23??? dell can time travel?? i ordered this on the 9th btw stock mx11 two of em.

 

It's here. It's perfect.. omg I'm going nuts. I overclocked and the fan kicked in but I can barely hear it. Tried switching the graphics and definitely like this better over optimus. I should have 8 gig ram in tonight or tomorrow and I have a lot to install including the android sdk, wow, sc2, dcuo beta, and office.

I have to figure out what I am going to do for the hard drive. Very happy at the moment.

 

My order from the outlet store for an R1 m11x arrived today. I placed my order yesterday at 3:30pm. I'm amazed.

I can't confirm that it's not just a box of rocks as it's at home but dell did manage to ship me something the day after I placed an order. Amazing!

 

Ordered m11x r2 on the 11th, today it says its shipped, so there's me thinking I'll have it in the next couple of days...
So I speak to a rep, and they said its either coming from Poland or china! Meh
How long will that take?? To the uk?

 

Update, phoned dell crying, saying I want my laptop for Christmas! They said it was manufactured in china, and will be 3-5days! Awesome news considering est date was 3/1/11

 

another update, dell email says i will have it monday! awesome!

 

I received mine yesterday. So far I'm impressed. I've been a Mac user(haven't touched Windows beyond friends/families comps) for the past 6 years so I wasn't sure what to expect but the Alienware build quality is great and Windows 7 seems okay so far.

 

ordered on 1/20, went to "in production" by 1/21, and it sat there until...today! shipped. however, the shipped date is 1/26, and the estimated delivery date is 1/27 (updated). then, when i check the tracking number, it says that the "anticipated ship date" was 1/21, and that shipment information was sent to fedex on 1/23 at 4:55pm. can anyone decipher this timeline for me? will i really get the laptop tomorrow? if so, i need to make plans to be home for it.

i'm pretty excited, potentially faulty hinges and all.

 

Congrats on the system! you can contact FedEx directly if you have the tracking#. If not, contact Sales Support and ask them to confirm.

Ok guys and gals my M11X r2 just moved today from production to delivery preparation. My est.arrival date has stayed 2/7/2011 do you think I might get it early?

I live in NE Tennessee and I'm hoping it will be shipped in state seems it would be the closest place for them to ship from or do they not go by where is closest.

For the record I don't really care much for fedex because if there is one little snow flake on my drive they will not deliver but the big brown truck will pull up here in 5" of the snow.

Yippee, My r2 started it's journey today. I was was hoping it would ship from TN but it looks like Ellenwood GA. and will be here 2/2/2011 which is Wednesday and I was not expecting it till Monday. Now keeping fingers crossed for a good one!!!!

after reading countless reviews while waiting for my R1 and having it in my possession for the past 3 days, i would say that i agree with almost everything that has been said, good or bad. i finally took delivery of it at 9:49pm this past Saturday night, due to the snow storms in the northeast.

the keyboard has a nice feel to it, the computer itself is pretty speedy with 4GB of RAM, it does play Crysis pretty fluently on all Medium settings, as well as less intensive games on High. the screen is definitely very reflective, which is distracting even in medium lighting, but i do think that it looks pretty good overall (in the dark).

battery life seems about right...i think i would have gotten about 6.5 or 7 hours on just integrated graphics and browsing/emailing/light music/light videos.

it's deceptively heavy. i'm treating it like a baby, and i feel like the hinges are going to break at any moment (even though they're fine right now). i do try to leave the hinge untouched by leaving the notebook open at night instead of closing it, etc. i don't know when i'll stop treating it like a delicate flower but i'm guessing it won't be any time soon.

i'm even thinking of getting rid of my unwieldy Dell Studio 530 desktop, even though it's a quad core Q9400 2.66ghz beast with plenty of RAM, a decent 1GB DDR5 Radeon 5670, and a 24" monitor...thoughts? i would really like to clean up my apartment that i just moved to and i definitely have a lot of crap everywhere, so i think getting rid of the clutter and all the cables and power cords would be refreshing.

all in all, i find myself using the M11x for just about everything, not only because it's a new toy, but because it is handling 90-95% of the things that my desktop can do, and i rarely do that other 5-10% anyway. also, i can put it on the coffee table while i drink a beer and have the TV on.

 

i checked like 2 hours ago and it had finished being built....fast forward 2 hours and the same site says it has not only left the factory but that it has arrived in the country.

either the chinese have figured out teleportation or the status site was instantly updated...or it could be a glitch.

EDIT: it looks like it was a glitch as it has gone back to the Manufacturing built complete status.

 

Well, if you need room, keep the 24", hook it up to the lovely M11X and bye bye desktop
