M11x Order Status Discussion Thread - Part 2

Wow, you ordered on 2/3 and yours has a tracking # at least? I ordered on 2/1 and the site says it's still in production. But, I chatted with someone last night and they said it's been shipped but they didn't have a tracking #. I wish it would hurry up already.

 

Hey everyone,

I was told by this useless customer rep that my order would arrive feb 19th.

However, I just got an email from dell saying that my estimated delivery date is tomorrow! (the 10th)

The even sent me a tracking number, however when I tack the package it says that UPS haven't even received the package, although dell have created billing info for it.

What is going on!

I need to decide whether or not I should stay at home and guard my door tomorrow. (customer service is closed over here in the UK)

Oh, when is your EDD?

I ordered mine on Febuary 4th, either dell are doing a great job or their systems are completely messed up.

Hopefully it's the first former!

 

another guy i spoke to ordered a few days before me and his will arrive in australia on the 16th.

dell said the delay was do to lack of parts....or something.

 

My delivery date is the 16th. But I was really hoping for sooner. As I said, I bought it for my son but it's sure going to be hard to keep my hands off of it!

 

Where do you live myth? I'm in Indy and my estimated delivery date is 2/17 and I ordered on 2/1 as well. I was hoping to have it by the weekend. But I probably won't, oh well.

 

I ordered an R2 in stealth black with the i5, 8gb, 256gb SSD, and bluetooth card on 1/31 and my order still shows "In Production". Shipping method is NBD with expected delivery date of 2/14 (I'm in Texas).

Dell Outlet is pimp. I got a base unit, cosmic black, and have 4gb sodimm here at home. I got it for 519$ on tuesday and it will be here on friday. Comes with 1 year warranty etc...I understand the allure of buying new, but once you pen it its not new anymore. Good luck!

 

I'm in the Seattle area. Usually when I order from Dell, stuff arrives early. Hope it's true for this too.

 

When I ordered last, it came from Asia, then to Texas, followed by Ontario. Not sure if their big dispatch center is in Texas, though.

 

i got a call asking when to deliver my m11x next week but the days they proposed weren't great so i told them to deliver it on the 21st.

i wonder how much the package weights?

 

I finally got a tracking number...according to Dell it should be to my house tomorrow. And the FedEx isn't showing anything as of yet, lets hope for tomorrow.

 

Asia to Seattle is a lot closer then Asia to Texas.....

 

I'm currently waiting for mines its hours or less away!

 

Ordered 01/31. Today I've got mine. The Estimate Delivery was like 02/18

 

And Asia to New York (I'm 20min away from NY) is alot closer to me then Asia to Texas, but they still went that route

 

Mine is on the truck for delivery, so when I get home from work, I shall have a new computer.

 

had to change some dates but i should be able to get it on Feb 18 instead of Feb 21.

That's why I'm having mine delivered to the office. FedEx says 2/14, Dell 2/15. My money's on the latter, as I've found FedEx doesn't always have the most reliable tracking information.

 

Oh don't worry, I told my mom to come over and not to leave. Ha!

 

Quick question. So I ordered my new m11x r2 today and also have a refurb R2 that was shipped today. When I saw the deal posted this morning I couldn't resist. The ETA on the new one is a couple weeks away while my refurb arrives next Wed. You guys think its ok for me to play with the refurb and return it once I get my new one in? Or should I just return it right away?

Btw, I already spoke with Dell and they won't charge a restocking fee since I bought a new one.

 

I wouldn't mess with it if I were you. You risk being charged to ship it back. If you're on twitter, hit up @DellCares and see what they think. Quick and easy way to determine what you should do and have a written record of it. I contacted them about my situation (similar to yours) and they recommended I accept the package and then contact them for a return authorization. They said I would not get charged for the return shipping.

 

Yeah, I wouldn't get charged for shipping it back either. But I guess I'll have to ask if I can use it while I wait for the new one to come in. I doubt they'll let me, but it doesn't hurt to ask. If not, I'll just send it back ASAP.

 

Well mine was picked up this morning by fedex in Nashville, TN. It's supposed to be delivered Monday the 14th (NBD shipping). Ordered it on 1/31.

Must... resist... urge to spend my entire vacation fiddling with the new laptop.

I got mine today, typing on it right now. So far, so good. The hinges don't look any worse then on my other laptop, we will see. I'm enjoying it so far.

 

Mine was not supposed to ship till the 16th. Now it says it has shipped on the 9th! Expected delivery is tomorrow. *Excited*

Can anyone confirm that FedEx will actually deliver on a Saturday? Doesn't that cost extra?

One quick question. Does Dell do anything on weekends? It's still "In production", is that because it's the weekend, or because it takes that long to build it?

Either way, I'm super excited to get it. My first new computer in 10 years, and it's an Alienware of all things!

I haven't read through all 219 pages, but how are they(Dell) about getting these out on time? I have a trip coming up and want to make sure I get it on time.

If anyone ordered in the past few days via EPP (and you're in a hurry) - you may want to go back (cancel and reorder) and choose "Next Business Day" shipping, as it was free when I re-ordered today (added in Bluetooth).

 

I just called in and asked if I could get it. About 15 minutes on the phone made it worth it not to mess up my estimated delivery date. Big thanks!

Whoa, I missed something here. How did you get free next day shipping? It says "Free 7 day shipping!"

I'm confused

 

The deal that was on over the weekend (and through yesterday) also gave the option of free next day shipping. You could call in and see if they can upgrade you. Although the deal has changed now.

 

Just called, The rep. said it has passed the stage where the shipping info can be changed, but he said I should see it sooner than my EDD of the 25th, because it is in the final stage of "production". I'm guessing next Monday or Tuesday it should be here!

 

Ordered mine February 6th and it has now been in the stage of shipping preparation for 3 days. How long does it take to put a box inside a box and hand it to Fedex? haha

 

Well, that was a disaster. Got the system yesterday, opened it up, and one of the screws securing the bottom plate to the chassis was stripped and loose. They keyboard was uneven as well, some keys on the left side were higher than those on the right.

It's going right back for a refund.

 

On the bright side, I've heard that folks that go through what you went through sometimes get waaay better machines in return (if they do an exchange).

I have an R2 refurb. in my office right now. Waiting on a return authorization since I ordered new with that $660 deal.

 

I would, but our hot water heater is about to depart this world, so the money has to go there.

Not the end of the world. My MSI behemoth actually travels quite well.
