hey minoru. did you recieve your laptop? because mine should be here in like an hour or so. i checked the shipping and its actually in transit right now. about an hour away from me 30 mins ago. i think it was closer to LA so im assuming you should recieve your laptop soon :]

Thats about 2 hours from here due to Traffic. So lol I will recieve my M11x today if FedEx ships at night- Which I doubt.

So ours could arrive tomorrow morning, Good News if you asked me.

 

welll they ship until like 7. haha mine arrive at city of industry at like 4:45. and its about 2 hours with traffic and 45 without. maybe the driver will be speeding for me XD

not bad. they usually ship before. mine's supposed to come if not later today, tomorrow but the estimated ship date was 6/8/10 also. when did you order yours? i ordered mine on 5/9/10 so yeah. :] i got the same thing except i got the 250gb 7200rpm hdd. order total was $774 for me. XD woohoo for employee's discount.

Lol, yes I saw that in mine too. That's why I posted this:

Just ordered mine(In production)... Some people suggested that I wait for the revision but I'm impatient and don't think I could afford to get that shiney i7 which I would want(It pleases the eyes, yes). Might be my perfectionist personality.

Anyways, the reason I ordered the M11x is because it's awesome and I'm a very small person. Now my much larger step-brother wants an M15x but that's another story. He's in the Marines so I dunno if he can get the current deal or not on the site since he ships to war soon.

 

First of all: Welcome EX, It's great to see another soon-to-be m11x owner.

Anyways, I would suggest waiting for the R2 version only if you've got the resources to spend. I do not, yet I believe I'll be perfectly satisfied with the R1. Futhermore, the R1 is already an amazing machine! So no worries there.

just got my m11x overclocked and no bsod. and i also have no issues with hinges. lovin this thing. gonna install asassins creed 2 in a bit. :]

 

Speaking of this BSOD.....I was getting a random and sudden one more and more often. I thought maybe it was due to software I installed, or deleted when I was tweaking my new machine. I actually did a restore to a point almost fresh out of the box. Thought I had it fixed, but no, it happened several more times! The screen said something about disabling caching, and or ghosting in the BIOS settings. I went thru the BIOS and found nothing related to these. I did, however, disable overclocking, and have not had the BSOD since.

I recieved mine an hour ago and I am currently conducting tests. So far I OC'ed (No bsod), hinges are A-OK, Fan noise is SILENT, and it runs smoothly.

 

aha yeah im still installing all my drivers and stuff. but i played ac2. max graphics x8 multisampling everyone literally max. oc cpu. gamebooster
25-30 frames

Edit: frames do drop to 18-20 during cutscenes but during gameplay its smooth as butter. or etzio's baby butt that i can see XD

good enough for me! the game is so much more beautiful than lowest settings XD

i have bios A03. fan is fine. its like running so quietly i dont even notice. and im playing ac2. so i guess A03 is good? lolol

 

Wow, thats great news! So far I'm just installing and transferring data from my old laptop to this one.

Damn, your m11x is probably one of those that can't OC without bsod. This is because every chip is unique, some can handle the 'under-voltage' that the processor is given when OC is activated. (This info is what I gathered from extensive research on M11x's cons)

 

anyone ordered the m17x with CF 5870's received theirs yet. I ordered mine on 5/19 but the ship date is 6/15

Ummm... Just checked my bank account and it has removed the transaction for my laptop order. The link for my order still shows it in production. Was my order canceled without my knowledge? If so, was it my bank or was it Alienware/Dell?

 

My credit card account showed the same activity as yours SazukeEX. I think the first transaction is to be sure the funds will be acceptable, and available. The "official" transaction happened right after they shipped my rig.

Have just ordered mine from Dell NZ - interesting enough with the NZ and AU Dell websites, it only costs $0.00 to upgrade to the SU7300 from the SU4100 CPU.

Estimated shipping date is in 15 buisness days time..

 

I just checked the New Zealand site and it's true.

Select the base model, upgrade the processor, select the 500GB HDD and you've just saved yourself approx NZD240.00 compared to the next listed M11X model with the SU7300 processor.

 

Yep. Now I just wait until the end of June when it ought to ship! Hahaha.... hohoho.....ehhhhhh ;/

 

That's interesting... Why such saving for NZ? Is it intentional or an error?

What is your estimated delivery time? Mine says 6/9 but it's just an estimate.

 

No idea, posssibly an error I think - the Su4100 was removed from the website about a 6 weeks ago for a fortnight, then suddenly reappeared with the option of upgrading the process for nothing.. but who am I to complain!?

and I called in today and told them I'm a poor college student (it's true!) and they gave me $35 off...it's somethin lol. Oh and the reason I don't have a 7200 is because I found one at frys (7200, 250GB) for $39, so didn't need that and as for the memory..I will play it by ear. I just wanted to make sure I had the things that weren't upgradable heh. Will probably call in tomorrow to try and lower it again...hey it's worth a shot.

Side note: I was configuring EPP and Regular and I found that EPP always has a later ship date and shipping costs more...?

Im getting worried about mine, its supposed to be here tomorrow (EDD 02/06/10 (MM/DD/YY)). No early shipping for me, and i choosed the option of 3-5 day delivery...(I ordered mine the 13/05/10)

 

Sigh, they will be making the delivery attempt today, a day I can't work from home. I hope I can pick up from FedEx tonight.

FedEx customer service mini-rant:

I wasn't home to sign for it, so I called FedEx to leave it for pickup at their office. She asked if I could pick it up tonight and I said I'd try, but probably tomorrow. She said it would be waiting for me...

Here's the rub. I tried picking it up today and it was out on the truck again. The lady at the pickup place says they give you a case number if they set it for pickup (which I didn't get). So essentially, the CSR on the phone assumed I'd make it to the place that night for pickup and didn't bother putting a hold on it.

Ironically, I was sick the day I received my laptop, so I was home from work to sign for it. My one nice moment in the week from heck

Well so far, most of the recent M11x that were sent out had no problems whatsoever, even in OCing.

So its most likely that you shouldn't have to worry about anything.

 

well i been lurking for a bit but last night/this morning i pulled the trigger and ordered last night...now comes the arduous task of waiting >_<

i want to thank everyone on this forum though, i read a great deal of the threads in great detail and got a lot of helpful information i do not think i would have gotten anywhere else =)

 

I'm glad you decided to "shoot" for the m11x. It's a great little beast lol, but yes the wait is a little frustrating for some people.

Anyways, yeah people here on notebookreview are really friendly and helpful. I'm glad I found this site before deciding to buy a laptop.

If I did not check this forums I'd be stuck with a Dell Studio 15 right now.
