Question, just ordered my m11x on 6-3-10 and I'm wondering when it will come because the preliminary ship date right now on the website is 6-15-10. Does it really take this long to ship? or is it a estimated time or what? help =(

Most of the time they arrive earlier then the ETA but it mostly depends on when you order the Laptop. I will be receiving mine one day before the ETA but if I ordered one day earlier I would have gotten it before this weekend.

I would definitely suggest that anyone who has less than NBD shipping, call up and just say you need it for school and you are leaving the day it is delivered. Works np lol

i got it wayyy earlier. i got normal shipping and i got mine in one day :]

i had to call dell support today because my m11x wouldnt turn on randomly. so i was put to some alienware tech guy and he was actually pretty knowlegeable and helped me fix it right away

oh if you were wondering what was wrong, i guess when they manufactured the laptop they didnt put the ram in properly or it was loose, so all i had to do was take out the ram and put it back in. pretty cool that they didnt send a tech.

I did not have this issue but noticed one of the retaining clips could have been better. Small tweak (bend) and its right as rain.

I hate FedEx. If Dell shipped via UPS, I would have received the computer this morning.

How are you folks getting yours so early? I ordered on the 4th of June and it's expected to SHIP on the 21st.... That is borderline unacceptable...

    Booo on you Dell!!!!

I want mine early too ;-)

It's probably the hard drive. Me and a buddy ordered ours a day apart; I went with the 320, he went with the 250. I am getting mine tomorrow. His ETA isn't until July! Our systems were identical otherwise.

Yeah, anyone know of any coupon codes? I would very much appreciate any information on great deals. I know you can get $50 off from signing up for dell email list... anything else? Someone mentioned a $100 coupon I believe. What would be the code for that?

Hmmm... this is frustrating. And the R2 models aren't even up on the EPP program sites.

Hey, at least I got an R1 configuration with su7300 and SDD to $1288. Thats not bad for that, at least.

Also, does anyone know what a DellU system is, exactly? I've got a $100 off coupon for a DellU system. Works on m11x R1 under EPP but not for m11x R2. Any thoughts?

I would cancel my order if I could retain the discounts I got for the one that is currently on order. For what i am spending, I could cancel and reorder an I5 unit and actually save $50 on top of it...... But... my discounts won't work and an i5/7 puts me into mid July.....

It's pathetic that Dell takes a month to build a machine.... With this kind of service I am worried about being a Dell customer.

Buyers remorse is setting in.... Especially since they refreshed the line the NEXT business day after my order.....

Ordered 8th June at 22:00 UK time

My EDD for my R2 is 18th June 2010!

If it arrives thats pretty decent delivery. Somehow I'm expecting to be let down!

Ordered mine yesterday. I called and the sales rep knocked $73 off the total price. I got the i7, 4GB memory, 320GB hdd and bluetooth. All for $1300.. ouch. That's $265 more than what I paid for my M11x R1 which will be shipped back to dell next week.
My estimated delivery is July 8th.. can't wait. I hate playing the waiting game :(

It's your call, but I got one of the C2D machines today and am thrilled with it. Once you start playing with it, you won't care. Trust me. For the extra time and cash, it's not worth it.

Ordered my R2 today using the US EPP, the rep told me that since its a new system they arent too sure of the delivery dates. but he told me the system said July 9, 2010 is when it should arrive. But the rep said since i ordered so early it could arrive earlier, but no ones too sure.

    /cantwaitD:

The important things that people would care about that i put on it were:

    - Alienware M11x, Soft Touch Stealth Black
    - Overclockable Intel Core i7 640UM (4M Cache, 2.266 GHz Max Turbo Frequency)
    - 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 800MHz
    - 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M
    - Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
    - Integrated 10/100 Network Interface Card
    - Optional Bluetooth Module, 2.1+ Enhanced Data Rate

The price of my build after tax was: $1,275.92

I also had a 10% discount and a 100$ coupon. But thats the price that it shows in the confirmation email and I'm too lazy to find the price before the discounts D:

I also got the Targus external drive thingy-ma-bob

Does the i7 version still have optimus? Or do you need to get the i5 version? Also if anyone can post a photo of the m11x vs a 14" notebook they have I'd be interested to see the screen real estate difference.... I am debating whether to get the m11x or a 14" which weighs about the same (Y460 for example)...

also anybody know the realistic battery life on m11x for say playing a movie only.

Got the same upgrades as you. Mine however came out to quite a bit more which stinks :( I realized that my company offers a 12% through dell and after 4 hours on the phone they told me that they couldn't cancel my order and I would have to return the one I ordered and resubmit my order...

Now I'm just considering keeping the one I get and chalking it up as a loss. Oh well I'll have a new laptop at least :)

True, but hey, 12% is alot at its current price tag! But, I know how it feels, when the baby's in your hands, you have no other care in the world and nothing else matters! That feeling > the money you spent! Cheers to us both =)

I got the one from Dell's site. Seems like the biggest complaint in the reviews has been the screen glare. Figured I would give this a shot and see how it works.

Bah, just had my m11v for a week and now they refreshed. If i want a upgrade from my specs its a $200 diff for a i7 and $50 for i5.

Its great the way it is now, not worth the wait if i want to exchange if i can.

From what I understand, dell won't put a charge on your account until the day it ship, but dell will put a holld on your acoount for a spicific amount. This usually done with in 24 hours, sometime instantly. If you call the CC number and use the auto response, it won't show up there, but if you get a live person then you can ask to see if there is a hold on the account. The hold will account count toward the max limit on the account, but you won't see the charge until dell charge it. Say, you have $2k limit on the CC and you order $1500 laptop. even though dell havn't charge the full $1500 yet, but the hold is there, thus you will only have $500 in CC left until that's clear(meaning dell charge it and you pay it off, or it time-out and drop off the list by iself). Generally speaking, if there is a hold on the account, the rep will not touch it even if you ask him/her to remove it and he/she will suggest you talk to that company first.

I ordered mine about 20 hours ago, and the payment still hasn't cleared for me. As long as the delivery date stays the same, I'm not too concerned about it. They probably have a ton of orders to process too

I ordered the M11xR2 w/ i7 on 6/10/2010 (actually 6/9 but almost midnight) and today, the order statue now show "In Production". And the description is,
I guess this mean, there is a hold on my CC. EDD still show next month though(I guess Dell won't change that until it ship).

The order status for my r2 ordered on the 9th has today updated stating that the build is completed and estimated delivery has changed 2 July to 22 June. Rad.

Keep checking. The status on mine changed 2 times today. First it went from 1st to 2nd July with build still in progress, then this afternoon it changed to build complete and the date rolled to 22nd June.
