Not for you, for wheresmystuff. Since he said he didn't have it on the order. And I don't believe free next business day shipping is the deal for everyone. I think non-EPP members don't get it.

 

Yeah, i remember talking to a rep at dell and he said something about free next day shipping for EPP buyers.

 

Um what? People have ran serato on a P4 processor in the djforums I read. Also states a G4, thats like 8 years ago.. I'm sure a i7 would run at serato smoothly without any turbo boost or overclocked..

 

The Next Business Day in the EPP was a free option, but I called it in with the Dell Rep before the 10% discount was on the EPP website. So this is one of the details that slipped by. Oh well, just means I'll have to drool as the benchmarks start coming in.

 

Actually based on your esitmated delivery date, you will be the making everyone drool with bechmarks.

 

Hey guys, is the Bluetooth 2.1 worth upgrading to?

I don't really have a need for Bluetooth persay, but hey, if it'll help out in the future, why not?

Any thoughts?

 

I have nothing that uses Bluetooth and personally would not opt for it. If you don't need it, or have no plans on using it don't get it. You could still buy a USB Bluetooth dongle later on if you change your mind.

 

Dont go it if your not going to use it. Ive contemplated buying a bluetooth dongle for ages because i "might want one in the future". Yeah... Never needed one.

 

It's a 20$ option on the Cad site i figure why not.

I have it and never use it, didnt bother with it on the r2.

idk, I ordered mine on the 10th, thats within the first week. I've only seen one person on here mention that his order got bumped up to June 17th.

 

just wanted to chime in-- i ordered mine yesterday, and my order is set to deliver on the 9th . whoever is getting his laptop on the 17th is one lucky sonuvabit**!

 

Ordered 06/11/10-shipping on 07/08/10- estimated delivery time 07/14/10

 

Oh indeed... as long as benchmarks are posted I suppose I will survive.

 

Ordered on 6/9/10, Original delivery date was 7/7/10 but i got bumped to 6/17/10

But now we know, if we see the nameplate Trigger, then it's his.
At the same time, I think it's clear that custom nameplate isn't what delay the order.

 

Maybe its the 160gb hdd? Not too many people got those. Did anyone get his exact build and have a different edd? Mine is all the same except the hdd and i ordered mine the day after him.

So is the i7-640UM a dual core or quad core? I searched for the specs and it lists as 2 cores with 4 threads. What does this mean?

The way I understand it; It's a dual core, but it's creating two more threads, which are sort of like... "hypothetical" cores, but not actual cores. It's making these two fake cores, to assist the two real cores with helping them and power management.

So I think it means that it it's like a half dual core / half quad core.


The question is also - How many applications and games to this day take advantage of quad core? It's a marked right now where dual core seems to have become the standard, with a significant amount of people still having single core cpus...

I cant think of that many games(outside of GTA4) that really really uses a quad core to the max.

 

what exactly does soft touch black mean?

is it like rubber black or is it like piano matte finnish(fingerprint lover)?

Just checked my tracking number, so it looks like mine is shipping from southern california (City of Industry, CA) and arriving to northern california tomorrow!!
